Immortal Divine Tribulation

Chapter 143: Thunder Spirit’s Hidden Ground

Chapter 143: Thunder Spirit’s Hidden Ground

Looking at Tian Fan’s expression, the young man in white followed his gaze downward — and instantly, killing intent surged from him.

Below the cliff lay another small village, but now it was shrouded in thick smoke and black mist. The air reeked of destruction — buildings were smashed, livestock slaughtered. Someone had even set a straw hut on fire to roast meat.

Cries of women and babies echoed from within. A group of armored soldiers was rampaging through the village. There weren’t many able-bodied men around, and the few who tried to resist were beaten bloody and left immobile. Some soldiers even began committing unspeakable acts against the village women, like beasts without humanity.

Swish—

Tian Fan’s figure vanished from the cliff edge, appearing the next moment in the village below. His eyes glinted coldly at the devastating scene around him.

“Heh heh, pretty girl, let us send you up to Cloud Heaven!”

“No! Let me go! Mother, Father — help, someone help!”

A girl of about eighteen or nineteen, as fresh and delicate as a lotus emerging from water, cried out in panic. But her pleas were useless. Five burly men in armor surrounded her, laughing as they ripped her clothes apart. Her pale skin was exposed, her undeveloped chest suddenly bared. She instinctively crossed her arms to cover herself, her face flushed with both shame and fear.

“Scream all you want — no one’s saving you now!”

“She’s gorgeous! Haha, let’s enjoy her all night!”

The five soldiers, eyes filled with lechery, lunged at her together.

Boom—!

In the next instant, all five men were sent flying, blood spurting from their noses and mouths as they crashed into the dirt.

The girl looked up, only to see a white figure standing in front of her, back turned. He took off his outer robe with one hand and gently draped it over her, shielding her from exposure.

“Who are you?! How dare you meddle in the Fifth Legion’s affairs!”

One soldier nearby noticed what had happened and stepped forward, snarling at Tian Fan.

Pfft—

A cold light flashed, and a hole appeared in the man’s forehead. He collapsed to the ground.

The young man in white who had followed Tian Fan arrived at that moment and plunged straight into the crowd. Any soldier caught raping, pillaging, or burning was immediately struck dead with a single finger. He darted through the village like a demon, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. In just moments, over a dozen corpses littered the ground. Fear gripped every remaining soldier — they were dealing with a monster.

“Stop!”

Tian Fan frowned slightly and appeared beside him, stopping his rampage.

“Why are you stopping me?”

The man in white looked up, his face still brimming with killing intent. His demeanor was completely different from before.

“Yes, they’ve committed evil… but they’re still just ordinary people. There’s no need to go this far,” Tian Fan said, confused by the Saint Son of the Demon Saint Palace’s brutality.

“They deserve death.”

The young man in white seemed to snap back to his senses. The killing aura around him lessened noticeably. Though his eyes still glinted coldly, he didn’t strike again.

Tian Fan found this surprising. Recently, conflicts between empires had been escalating. The last time he passed through a small village, something similar had happened. He had a strong feeling that something deeper was going on.

“Speak! Why is your army here in this village?” Tian Fan demanded coldly.

“Immortal Lord, please spare us!” one of the soldiers on the ground trembled as he spoke. Having witnessed the white-robed man’s deadly methods, he was terrified — they looked just like the “immortals” he’d heard about.

According to him, a hundred li away, a mountain had recently seen bursts of thunder and light — a sign believed to be divine by both the Soaring Dragon Dynasty and the Sun Empire. They sent people to investigate, but everyone who entered was struck dead, their bodies charred black.

Unable to handle the situation, the empires turned to their backing sects from the cultivation world, who dispatched their disciples to explore. They discovered an ancient tomb. But with so many factions involved, everyone held back — while supplies ran short. So the soldiers were ordered to collect food from nearby villages.

“This is how you collect food?!” the white-robed man growled coldly. His killing intent surged again, making the soldiers shiver uncontrollably.

“Please spare us, Immortal Lord… we won’t dare again…”

The group of soldiers, fully aware of how terrifying these two men were, kept begging for mercy, not even daring to breathe loudly.

“Scram! If you dare behave like this again, you know what’s coming!” Tian Fan warned, seeing the man beside him ready to kill again.

“Thank you, young master, for saving my life…”

The girl from earlier bowed gracefully to Tian Fan, her face still slightly flushed.

“A beauty, a real beauty!”

The white-robed man was instantly beside her, smiling broadly as he helped her up. “There’s no need to thank me, miss. Rescuing maidens in distress is a noble duty every young hero must fulfill!”

The girl blushed even harder at his words.

Tian Fan twitched at the sight — this guy was a bloodthirsty god of death a second ago, and now he was a full-blown pervert.

The villagers all gathered around. Though their homes were in ruins and many were injured, thankfully, no one had died. Together, they bowed in gratitude.

“No need to be so formal. As the saying goes…”

The white-robed man immediately got cozy with the villagers, chatting away as if they were old friends.

Tian Fan rolled his eyes and walked off toward the edge of the village.

“Hey, wait up! Goodbye, beautiful! Until we meet again!”

He waved at the girl as he chased after Tian Fan.

“You could at least say something before leaving,” he grumbled, handing over Tian Fan’s robe. “Here, the girl said thanks for your clothes.”

Tian Fan took the robe, put it on without a word, and kept walking.

“Why are you always following me?” he asked, stopping to glance back.

“I think you’re interesting. And honestly, I’ve been bored lately — nothing to do. Didn’t I tell you before? I want to fight you!”

“No time. Find someone else.”

“Where are you headed?”

“That mountain a hundred li away.”

“You’re going to dig up the tomb?” The white-robed man looked surprised.

“Yes.”

Tian Fan didn’t elaborate. He shot into the air, convinced that ancient tomb was anything but ordinary — and might just hold what he was looking for.

When the two arrived at the mountain, they saw it was already swarming with cultivators from the various sects of the Northern Region.

As soon as they approached, Tian Fan sensed a powerful thunder force. His excitement grew — his hunch had been right.

This was indeed where the Thunder Spirit Orb was hidden!
