Incurable Pain | Chapter 96.2

  1. Wanting a Sister

On the weekend, Yu Luoyin had to work overtime, so Bai Xunyin took Yu Baiqi to Ah Mo’s house alone.

The two families weren’t far apart, just about a fifteen-minute drive. When Bai Xunyin arrived with Yu Baiqi, it was Shen Wen who opened the door, looking harried.

“Please come in quickly.” Shen Wen’s gray coat was visibly stained with water marks. With large black circles under his fair face, he held a piece of soft fabric and a milk bottle. He moved aside to let Bai Xunyin in.

Bai Xunyin could immediately tell that he was busy taking care of A Wu, and she just smiled without saying anything.

Because when Yu Luoyin first took care of the child, it was as chaotic as Shen Wen’s. A Wu, half a year younger than Yu Baiqi, was still breastfeeding, likely in her most demanding phase.

Sure enough, when they entered the living room, Ah Mo was lying on the sofa in her pajamas, her cheeks flushed, with a cool towel on her forehead.

“What’s wrong?” Bai Xunyin put Yu Baiqi down and let him toddle around – after all, almost all the furniture in Ah Mo’s house was wrapped in soft cloth to prevent bumps.

Walking over, Bai Xunyin sat next to Ah Mo, gently touching her face. Her cool hand felt hot.

She lowered her eyes and asked softly, “Are you sick?”

“What illness? I’m just angry!”

Ah Mo, who had become even more irritable after marriage and having children, was about to get angry after a couple of sentences, glaring at Shen Wen resentfully.

She then complained to Bai Xunyin with a pout, “I asked him to make a bottle of milk for A Wu, and he couldn’t figure it out. I’m really so angry, wuwuwu.”

“Don’t, don’t be angry.” Shen Wen was at a loss, his usually calm face turning red. He didn’t know where to put his hands and feet, stammering, “I’ll make another bottle right away.”

Fortunately, Little A Wu in the crib had just been crying and now smiled when she saw Yu Baiqi toddling over. The two children played together, relieving Shen Wen’s anxiety.

“Alright, don’t be angry.”

Bai Xunyin gently pinched Ah Mo’s face, smiling as she took the milk bottle from Shen Wen and personally made a bottle of milk for little A Wu.

“Nobody knows how to do things at first.”

Bai Xunyin thought for a moment and comforted Ah Mo in the most effective way –

“Yu Luoyin was even worse than Shen Wen at the beginning.”

People always fear comparison, and indeed, Ah Mo’s mood shifted from ‘why is Shen Wen so incompetent’ to a surprised look at Bai Xunyin. “Really?…”

Even Shen Wen himself didn’t quite believe it.

But Bai Xunyin nodded earnestly, saying, “Really.”

When Yu Luoyin first took care of Yu Baiqi, the baby was so small and delicate, and he was afraid of accidentally hurting him.

He was very cautious in everything he did, almost like a delicate young girl.

Seeing this, Bai Xunyin couldn’t help but laugh and teasingly whispered in Yu Luoyin’s ear, “Should I start calling you sister in the future?”

He was even more meticulous and gentle than a woman.

After listening, Yu Luoyin picked her up with gritted teeth.

That night, he naturally proved himself to be a ‘tough man’.

“A Wu is so well-behaved.”

Bai Xunyin leaned over to the crib, looking at the delicate little girl, gently flicking her fingers, her eyes curved.

She couldn’t help but envy, “Girls are so nice, they will definitely be more considerate than stinky boys in the future.”

“That’s easy.”

Ah Mo had regained her energy by now, sitting up straight and drinking water. With a hint of a smile, she said vaguely, “Have another one for Yu Baiqi, give him a little sister.”

Although Yu Baiqi still didn’t understand anything, when he heard the keyword ‘sister’, he looked at his godmother with bright eyes.

“Ning Shumo.”

Bai Xunyin gave her a stern look, “Shut up.”

She didn’t expect Yu Baiqi to remember this sentence.

By the time they got home that night, Yu Luoyin had made dumplings. The three of them sat around the table eating, with Yu Luoyin feeding the little one purple potato puree.

Suddenly, he heard him mumbling, “Sister… sister.”

Bai Xunyin’s hand holding the spoon paused, even Yu Luoyin, who didn’t quite catch it, was taken aback, “What did the baby say?”

“Mom.”

Yu Baiqi raised his little spoon, blurted out a few words, “Mom… has sister.”

How did this kid remember so well?

Seeing Bai Xunyin’s unpleasant expression, Yu Luoyin couldn’t help but chuckle.

He laughed before asking, “What’s going on?”

“It’s nothing.”

Bai Xunyin frowned, somewhat helpless, “It’s just nonsense from Ah Mo.”

“Aunt.”

Yu Baiqi interjected again, his little face ‘serious’, his words unclear, “Want sister.”

“What aunt wants a sister?”

Yu Luoyin pinched his cheek with a smile, “You probably want a sister yourself.”

As soon as he said this, Yu Baiqi seemed to understand, nodding repeatedly, “Yeah, yeah.”

Then he added, “Want sister!”

Sure enough, the essence of humans is repetition.

“Um.”

Yu Luoyin stifled a laugh, earnestly replying, “Daddy will do his best.”

So, that night, Yu Luoyin, who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity, nearly got kicked out to sleep in the guest room.

“I’m serious.”

Bai Xunyin nestled in the blanket, a strand of long hair falling on her snow-white shoulder, serene and seductive, but her eyes appeared a bit serious, “Absolutely no second child.”

Although she liked girls very much, she really felt that taking care of children was too exhausting.

And there was absolutely no such plan in their schedule.

“Yeah, I know.”

Yu Luoyin chuckled, leaned over to easily embrace the girl, and kissed her snow-white shoulder, his shimmering eyes mischievous, “I just wanted to take advantage of this opportunity…”

“To do some mischief.”

As for the sister, that’s a story for later.

Even though Yu Baiqi muttered for quite some time.
