Chapter 3697: Everything I
Chapter 3697: Everything I
At a certain point in time, one simply wanted to be left alone.
To do what they wished and accomplish what they wanted, without having to worry about large-scale events.
At this moment, that was what Noah desired.
He wanted to complete his Atlas of Existence, to let Ruination consume as many shattered pieces of the Wheel as she pleased, and for his Infiniverse Megalos to smoothly continue its transformation—becoming the Infiniverse Wheel of Existence.
He wanted all of this, but as always, there was the factor of Time.
And it seemed that with every passing moment, Time only spelled complexity and catastrophe.
The catastrophe right now? It stemmed from the arrival of a terrifying group of Dead Things, drawn here by a single being-Vha'Nekrul, who had observed Noah while the white flames of the True Source of the Singed empowered others.
Because of this, a monstrous entity had been alerted. Veltraxis, the Smiling Empty Maw, the 77th Mawbearer of Recursive Hunger.
And such a being, already beyond unfathomable, had called upon more like it. Others even more powerful had already begun to arrive. And they would keep arriving!
One after another.
One. After. Another!
At a time like this, when tyrannical lividity coursed through him, Noah instead found himself calm. Unfathomably calm. Eyes closed, calculating.
He took a breath, closed his eyes for a heartbeat. When he opened them again… they pulsed with clarity, as he sent a thought to the Infiniverse Megalos.
'The future that may unfold from here will be a difficult one. I need you to begin preparations just in case.'
…!
He saw several possibilities.
He examined the complexity of the enemies before him and those to come, and compared them to his own evolving Complexity and Purity. He measured his potential once the Atlas was complete and as the Infiniverse Megalos continued forming Spokes of the Wheel.
He calculated. He judged. And the conclusions were... not ideal!
Because of this, he had to prepare.
What do you need me to do, Master?
The Infiniverse Megalos responded with her usual calm, measured tone.
Noah answered succinctly, even as the form of the 63rd Mawbearer of Endless Paradox began to materialize.
'Other parts of me will move with you. Start the process—traverse from Frequency to Frequency. Convert all Channelers to connect with you. The goal is all Frequencies and all possibilities.'
…!
A heavy step.
And if one considered why Noah would begin such a process…they would dread the future he must have foreseen!
The Infiniverse Megalos didn't speak for a moment. Then, firmly.
Understood, Master.
A command given. A command followed.
Noah turned his gaze to the newly emerging figure- a thing of death, like all the others, but this one drew the attention of even Veltraxis.
The 63rd Mawbearer of Endless Paradox.
Veltraxis looked toward them as the new Mawbearer arrived, its form a massive obsidian bone-cross, an X-shaped skeleton of ruin with a crimson eye glaring at its center.
It was a vile thing to behold. And behind it, even more monstrosities appeared- each having reached the terrifying stage of Converged Architect.
Oh 77th... This is the Wheel you found? Its taste already seems exquisite.
"Haha, 63rd… Xhurrel. The Wheel itself will be interesting, yes. But the purity of a certain creature within this Wheel? That may be even more appetizing."
…!
As he said this, Veltraxis turned a grim, ravenous smile toward Noah.
And even as they spoke, the surrounding weavings, still connected to the Infinite Ravines, trembled.
They had to tremble.
Because at this moment, Noah and everyone else could feel it.
The descent of a few dozen Wild True Sources of Existence.
A few dozen.
Enough to overwhelm even Harmonized Sourcebound Icons. Yet, it was… understandable.
Before Noah, the figure of the holder of the True Source of Asche sighed as he looked up.
"I didn't expect this day to come. All this time, I lingered, waited, did all that I could—hoping for a miracle. But like all things…it all turns to ash. Endless, unfathomable ash…"
His voice carried the weight of helplessness, even from one as powerful as a Resplendent Monad.
Noah looked up and confirmed it as well- multiple Gateway Domus were merging into theirs.
Continuously.
Without pause.
As if the Wheel of Existence had deemed it necessary to converge its defenses. Across many fractured doorways, a singular Gateway Domus was forming!
A unified… Infinite Ravines.
One doorway for the entire Wheel of Existence.
And that brought both wonder and dread.
Because from those fused gates…
HUUM!
Auras of power surged as defenders began to descend, their faces shocked.
They were numerous.
Dozens of beings at the level of Harmonized Sourcebound Icon Complexity and the less complex Nascent Source-Bearer entities appeared from above, below, and behind.
Among them, Noah saw the figure of the Omnifather- his expression grave.
Apart from him, he also saw a woman!
He saw someone he had only glimpsed in the weavings of records, in dreams tied to Bob.
She stepped forth...the Watcher of the Wheelomachy.
The First Watcher. A radiant woman with flowing red hair that shimmered like molten dusk.
She stood beyond time's grasp, her eyes pulsing with a power close to that of a Resplendent Monad, her presence reflecting every revolution of the Infinite Wheel.
Noah squinted.
But as the Weaver of Existence, clarity came to him faster than to most as he was able to glimpse her True Source.
The True Source of Chronohedra- the very Axis of Temporal Balance!
A fearsome True Source. One that anchored reality while preserving the sequence of all positive time.
Among the defenders, she was among the purest, most intricate, and yet even she was not a true Resplendent Monad.
Men. Women. Entities with no clear race or gender.
Noah counted 77 Legends.
Protectors only spoken of in whispers across Frequencies. Some remembered. Most forgotten.
The Great Beyonder studied them all and confirmed what they already feared.
"All of the Gateway Domus… are merging here…"
Yes.
One of the worst possible scenarios was unfolding. All defenders were gathered in one place.
At the same time, more Dead Things emerged—some from the very same gateways the defenders had guarded all this time.
And those Dead Things, arriving one by one, looked in awe at the blazing auras of Veltraxis and the 63rd Mawbearer of Endless Paradox.
At the same time, behind those two beings, within the folds of Nullvein Gravewake that Veltraxis conjured, a tremor ran through, and...eighteen more Dead Things appeared.
Led by yet another Mawbearer of the Hollow Concord of Nullity.
"Ah..."
It felt like an endless incursion.
And despair began rising like a flood!
