Chapter 4745: Simulation And Reality Collide! I
Chapter 4745: Simulation And Reality Collide! I
Noah returned his gaze to the ongoing simulation.
He mentally noted that the first thing to be done after this ended was Duke’s transformation.
Because right now, the memories of the simulation showed the glorious transformed figure of Duke in the form of Skoll.
And what a figure it was!
The golden retriever’s form had undergone changes that elevated him from adorable companion to something genuinely majestic. A lion-like mane now wrapped around his neck and shoulders, composed of crystallized neon flames that flickered with colors that had no names. His vibrant golden fur carried traces of blue woven throughout, as if the authority of Mana itself had bled into every strand.
His form still remained that of a dog.
But majestic. Regal. Carrying himself with the dignity of something that knew exactly what it had become.
And those eyes!
An incandescent neon sun burned in one pupil. An incandescent neon moon glowed in the other. Day and night. Beginning and ending. The eternal cycle of Existence captured in the gaze of a very good boy who had transcended his original limitations.
His entire body emanated waves of THE Fundamental Depth!
Not approaching it. Not adjacent to it. Genuinely radiating it in pulses that made the corrupted Wastes around them stabilize wherever he stood.
Noah stroked his fur while seated atop him, feeling the warmth of captured starfire beneath his palm.
“Let’s go. As fast as you can.”
…!
Skoll’s response was immediate.
And terrifying.
The transformed Duke entirely disappeared alongside Noah!
Not moved. Not accelerated. Simply… gone.
Even the radiant glimmer of neon light that had surrounded them moments before was no longer visible. No trail. No afterimage. No indication that anything had been there at all.
Imperceptible!
This wasn’t speed that could be tracked or followed. This was speed that existed outside the framework of normal observation entirely.
Simulation continues…
With the advancement of Skoll, you proceed to test his capabilities.
Results: Astonishing.
Speed Assessment:
Previous coverage rate with conventional travel: Hours per major region.
Previous coverage rate with base Duke: Minutes per major region.
Current coverage rate with Skoll: Seconds per major region.
You cover endless regions of the Wastes in a single second.
Distances that would have required hours before are crossed in the time it takes to blink.
The corrupted landscape blurs into meaningless smears of gray and ash.
You cover vast regions of The Wastes of THE Fallout systematically.
Encounters:
Multiple Scorched entities detected and engaged.
Surface Depth. Intermediate Depth. Creatures of flame and hunger and desperate survival.
Multiple Emerged entities detected and engaged.
None of them are what you’re looking for.
No trace of Lumivara. No echo of Ul’moreth. No signature of THE Weaver.
But the encounters are not wasted.
Skoll proves to be an eager participant in combat.
Being the good boy he is, he swallows Surface Depth entities in single gulps.
His neon flames consume their existence and convert it into fuel for his own advancement.
You collapse others personally.
Some transform into additional Fragments of Moirai Threads through your Perpetual Harvest.
Others have their Depths devoured to continue elevating your own immensity.
Your search continues.
One minute passes.
Vast territories have been covered. Over a Dozen enemies have been eliminated. Your power has grown incrementally through constant harvest.
But still no trace of your targets.
And then…
Your intuition begins to buzz.
Something is wrong.
The sensation is not logical. It is not based on evidence or observation. It is simply a feeling that rises from the depths of your existence with urgent insistence.
For Lumivara and Ul’moreth, time is running out!
Your efforts in the Wastes are not paying off quickly enough.
Decision Point: Alternative approach required.
You backtrack across the Wastes.
Destination: THE Corrupted Vault of Ginnungagap once more.
You enter the Stoa of Dogmata once more.
THE Secretive Eon sits exactly where she was before.
This time, she doesn’t even glance your way.
…!
Noah fully immersed himself into the simulation as the scene played out in front of him.
The prompts faded away, replaced by direct experience of the simulated future.
He stood in the Stoa of Dogmata with Skoll beside him, the transformed Duke’s neon flames casting strange shadows across the ancient pillars as he looked around. Eon remained seated with her legs crossed, her dark eyes fixed on the distant expanse ahead, completely ignoring his arrival.
Noah calmly brought out two objects.
The Fragment of THE Axiom of Attrition pulsed with authority that spoke of gradual erosion and patient victory.
The Fragment of THE Axiom of Differentiated Tongue burned with power that resonated with the very foundations of linguistic authority.
The light of two Axioms drew the attention of Eon.
She looked over, and for the first time since his arrival, her dark eyes held something other than dismissive disinterest.
“Both of these are yours,” Noah said calmly, “if you can track down where THE Weavers are and simply make a move to remove my people from there.”
…!
Eon looked at the two Fragments.
Her composed features shifted into something that might have been a smile.
“For these… we can make a transaction.”
Her voice remained measured, each word placed with precision that spoke of eons spent choosing exactly what to say.
“But their worth is enough for me to look for the signature of Absolutes in the Wastes. I can track down THE Weavers.” Her head tilted slightly. “That alone uses up what you’re giving. My intervention would require more. So I won’t intervene, but I can drop you off in that location as soon as I find them.”
…!
Noah’s eyes were sharp as he looked at Eon.
Man, she fucking sucked sometimes.
But this was progress!
From Eon, he should be able to learn where Lumivara and Ul’moreth were. The exact location that his own searches had failed to uncover despite covering vast territories with Skoll’s impossible speed.
And since this was a simulation, he wouldn’t lose anything!
The Fragments he offered here remained safely in his possession in actual Existence. He could test what leverage worked, discover her true price, and gain without losing anything.
As he was thinking all this, Eon’s gaze drifted away from the Fragments.
Her dark eyes settled on the burning visage of Skoll!
