Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 5879: Shinjitsu I

Chapter 5879: Shinjitsu I

The gold-blue film lay over Noah’s skin, and for a long moment he forgot the Fiend entirely.

He was too busy feeling what had changed!

The shift sat somewhere past his raw strength, because his Orders, his Tree, and the blue-gold seas turning around him remained at the exact level they had held a heartbeat ago.

Had he measured his output against the Fiend right now, the Ancient Immense One still would have crushed him in a direct exchange.

What had changed was how he sat inside his own existence.

Before this breakthrough, he had lived inside himself much as a man lives in a sprawling mansion he inherited from strangers. Over time he had learned its hallways, put its chambers to good use, and even built new wings and whole floors of his own design, yet a huge portion of the structure had been raised by outside hands.

The cold drawn from THE Long Night, Vakochev’s gift that first sparked his root, the Lesser Kryos, the returns from THE Tide, and the grand titles others had hung on his walls had all been part of the estate, leaving some quiet piece of him walking those corridors like a guest.

Now, at the dead center of the mansion, sat one small room that belonged entirely to him.

It was a tiny thing, barely a tenth of a percent of all he was, yet that single room held the entire house up!

It was his...Shinjitsu!

And looking out from inside it, everything else took on a new shape.

Turning his attention outward, he examined his Dream.

For light years in every direction across the Ossuary, existence had quietly been replaced brick by golden-blue brick, from the drifting silk down to the sea of stars and the snowless dark between them, all laid so seamlessly that even the Ancient Immense Ones standing on top of it remained oblivious!

Ruination’s records held every particle’s prior form while THE Infiniverse stretched herself beneath the span, Ul’moreth spoke the space in existence’s own tongue, and Emotive felt for the whole region so that it looked and behaved just as it always had.

Keeping the illusion seamless had been the whole idea.

Yet looking at it from his small room, he saw what the work had actually been.

Every golden-blue brick was a flawless copy wearing the shape of what it replaced, dressing his Dream in existence’s borrowed robes so well that the continuum stayed blind to the swap.

The silk kept drifting down and the stars rolled on through their dark sea, yet at the core of every brick, something new had woken.

A tenth of a percent of him sat inside each one!

Thin as the sheen across his skin, a thread of his own truth ran down the center of every particle in his Dream at once, meaning the bricks were doing more than wearing existence’s face. Deep inside each borrowed shape, they had begun to become him!

The difference was enormous!

Where his Dream had previously lain over reality like fresh snow blanketing a field, silent and separate on the surface, it was now soaking straight into the soil, sinking down into the roots until the rain and the earth became a single thing!

All this time he had believed he was replacing existence with his dreams, when he had really just been painting over the stonework.

With Shinjitsu, the paint was finally becoming the wall!

As if he was...Assimilating with Existence itself.

"...!"

THUMP!

His heart beat grandly.

Assimilation!

He thought of Achilles Adrastia and his capability of Assimilation as this being took in things just like him, but different from how Noah devoured loot like fuel for his advancements, Adrastia actually assimilated what he took in and became it completely as...wasn’t this lifeform built for Shinjitsu?!

"..."

He would have to check in on this monster as just like how Lifthrasir had aided him, maybe he could do something similar for Adrastia, especially with him having the capability of Assimilation.

Noah let out a slow breath that drifted down as snow, and even those falling flakes carried a denser, truer presence that had nothing to do with physical mass.

Lygara’s words came back to him, about how a deaf existence recorded the exact same weight of absolute zero for every living thing, right alongside Lifthrasir’s lesson that once everything borrowed was stripped away at one hundred percent, even a blind and deaf continuum had to treat what remained as real.

So that was the heart of it!

Existence could stay as indifferent and unyielding as it pleased, because something wholly real needed no one’s permission to stand there. The truer he became, the more the continuum would have to treat him as an immovable fact, the same way it treated a mountain range or a burning star, simply because there would be nothing borrowed left on him to argue with!

A tenth of a percent was a tiny start, barely a speck on the scales, yet it was the very first piece of him that existence had no way to take back!

HUUM!

His existence gave a slow, deep pulse as new prompts bloomed across his sight.

Shinjitsu: Assimilation Rate 0.1%.

Your Assimilation Rate rises as more of what you carry becomes truly yours.

It falls when you act against what you are.

...!

Ways to raise your Assimilation Rate:

Make what you borrowed your own. Every power you carry that was given, absorbed, or inherited can be understood, reshaped, and chosen until it is no longer borrowed. Each one you make wholly yours is assimilated.

Live your titles until they are true. A name others gave you becomes yours when you have earned every word of it.

Stand under the weight of those whose Shinjitsu is higher than yours. Pressure drives out what is not you.

Dream truly. What your Dream replaces, it will now carry your truth into. The more of existence your Dream truly holds, the more of you there is to hold it.

Write only what you can carry, and carry everything you write. A Narrative written from your truth will strengthen your Shinjitsu. A Narrative written as a lie will weaken it.

...!

Thresholds of Shinjitsu:

1%: THE First Unveiling. Your truth stops flickering. You may gather it into a single strike, a single step, a single word, and for the length of that moment, you will be more real than anything you touch.

5%: THE Unlidded Eye. You will see beings as they are beneath their robes: how much of them is truly there, and how much is costume hung upon emptiness. Some of what you see will look nothing like the shapes they wear. ?????

10%: THE Unborrowed Weight. Your presence alone will press upon what others have borrowed. Near you, their titles will grow heavy, their legends will thin, and their certainty of who they are will begin to slip. ?????

25%: THE Native Narrative. A Narrative that is only yours will rise out of you, outside of any system. Those who witness it will struggle to remember existence as it was before. ?????

50%: THE Weight Above Zero. Existence, which records every lifeform at absolute zero, will begin to record you as something more. It will not see you. It will simply be unable to proceed as though you were absent. ?????

75%: THE Unbroken Thread. ?????

100%: ?????

What remains at the end is only you. Existence has no word for it.

...!

Your Shinjitsu is faint. Every Ancient Immense One here holds power far greater than yours.

But only a few of them have ever found what you just found.

...!

A slow smile spread across Noah’s face as he took in the thresholds.

Understanding yourself and finding a road that went deeper than raw numbers felt...good. A person felt good when they sat down to a hot meal, shared a laugh with their family, or finished building something with their own two hands, and as THE True Human Emperor and THE Human Dreamer, finding a path where every step made him more genuinely himself felt grand!

Plenty of ancient monsters climbed so high on borrowed robes that they hollowed themselves out into joyless lunatics, yet Noah found that anchoring everything in that small human room only made the climb sweeter, which was a great thing.

He had climbed upward through Ranks, Orders, Boughs, and Rings, whereas this new ladder went straight inward, promising THE First Unveiling at one percent, THE Unlidded Eye at five, and eventually a Native Narrative and a weight above zero that needed no outside framework at all!

He wanted every single rung of it!

At this time, the shifting weight across the arena drew his eyes back to the front.

THE SLEEPLESS FIEND’s crushing pressure still bore down on the star-strewn floor, and the titan of burning vigils was leaning forward again!

White-hot threads twitched and coiled faster across his towering frame while his luminous eyes narrowed with brutal, ravenous focus, looking ready to throw the wager aside just to test how much more weight it would take to crack Noah’s knees.

BOOM!

Something massive planted itself on Noah’s left, followed a heartbeat later by a second heavy step on his right!

Kir One and Kir Two had moved up without a sound, stationing themselves on either side of him like twin obsidian pillars with their eyes shut, their faces serene, and the thin black film of Shinjitsu glimmering close against their skin.

Across the open dark, the Fiend’s twitching threads slowed!

Between the two Giants drifted Lifthrasir, small and frail with her limp wings trailing behind her as she came to a halt beside Noah’s shoulder, while high above her the immense coiled body of THE First Gu of Destiny rose to fill half the Ossuary’s sky! Lygara’s beautiful face looked down upon the crescent of Ancients with cold composure as every destiny-thread overhead pulled taut once more!

Lifthrasir tilted her head toward the Fiend.

"Now, now," she said pleasantly. "It seems that one of your Ancient Immense Ones couldn’t make my friend here kneel either."

Looking past the burning giant, she rested her dark eyes on THE Sovereign of the Endless Spiral at the center of the crescent.

"So that’s no wins for you on either bet."

She smiled sweetly.

"So, what shall be done now?"

...!
