Isekai Yururi Kikou ~Raising Children While Being an Adventurer~

Chapter 498:

Chapter 498:

Sea Voyage 2

""Nnya?""

"Allen, Elena, what’s wrong?"

For some reason, Allen and Elena were staring intently at the door to the room.

""Lots?""

"Hmm, there’s a presence of people, isn’t there?"

"N-no way!"

Hearing the children and Kaiser’s words, I had a bad feeling. Hastily, I opened the door.

"Patrick-san!?"

There stood Patrick-san and three others.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well… we were borrowing the lounge, and then a very pleasant aroma wafted over, so…"

It seemed Patrick-san and the others had been in the living room and had been smelling the aroma of the food we were cooking. Unable to resist, they had come to the door and were peeking at what was happening inside.

"… You could’ve just come in normally, you know."

They weren’t strangers, so if they’d simply entered and spoken to us, I would’ve let them taste it.

""Still more there~""

"""""Hm?"""""

At the children's words, not only me but also Patrick-san and his group tilted their heads in confusion.

"It’s outside this room, toward the door leading to the hallway. There are a few people there too."

"""""What!?"""""

In a hurry, Lancer-san and Eugene dashed off. They were probably going to check outside the room.

"… Even if you mask the aroma, the moment it’s created, it’s a lost cause, huh."

Just like at the Risner Estate when I first made curry, the scent seemed to have drawn people in.

"Takumi-san, it might be strange for me to say this, but it’s not a problem to have a pleasant aroma. If there are those drawn by the scent, just ignore them. If it becomes a nuisance, Lancer-dono and Eugene-dono can drive them away like they did now."

"Hahaha. Then, I’ll leave it to you."

Well, it wasn’t like it was a foul smell. Since it was a good scent, there was no need to hold back.

""Shall we continue?""

"That’s right. Let’s continue cooking."

"Allen wants something sweet next!"

"Sweet! Elena wants to make cheesecake!"

"Oh, that’s a great idea."

The recipe collection Marianora-sama gave me had many types of cheesecake. There were still some I hadn’t made yet, so it might be fun to try them.

"Takumi-san, please wait a moment. Lunch should arrive soon. How about resuming after we’ve eaten?"

""Lunch!""

I was about to resume cooking, but it seemed it was already time for lunch.

"Alright then, let’s eat first. By the way, Patrick-san, if you have a request, feel free to ask."

"Judging by the smell, you were making curry, weren’t you? I’d love to try something made by you, Takumi-san!"

"Me too, please!"

Ever since we opened the door, Patrick-san had been fidgety. I had a feeling I knew why, so I decided to bring it up myself. Sure enough, Patrick-san honestly expressed what I had guessed, and Matthew-san followed suit with his own request.

""You want to eat curry?""

"Yes, I heard that Takumi-san invented curry. It must be much better than what you’d find at any store!"

""Yep! Oniichan’s curry is so yummy!""

"Indeed, Takumi’s curry is exquisite."

Allen, Elena, and Kaiser, who had just had some as a snack, boasted about it proudly.

"Ah~…"

"… Is it not possible?"

Perhaps because of my hesitant tone, Patrick-san and Matthew-san looked crestfallen.

"It’s not impossible."

There was just one problem. This curry was made using Blue Dragon meat.

"We’re back. The people gathered outside were employees. It seems they were drawn by the smell. This time, I only warned them and let them go, but I informed them that next time we’ll file a complaint."

"That should suffice."

"Also, lunch has arrived."

As I was deliberating, Lancer-san and Eugene returned from checking outside the room. It seemed they had given the gathered individuals a stern warning.

"Well then, let’s eat."

""Okay~!""

At the dining table, I took out the freshly made curry from my Infinite Storage in its pot. I served portions for the four of Patrick-san’s group in small bowls and lined them up.

"Allen too~"

"Elena too~"

"Me too, me as well!"

"You three just had some earlier, didn’t you?"

""Want more~""

Even though the kids had eaten it as a snack earlier, they seemed to want more. Well, there was no need to deny them, so I prepared portions for the kids and myself as well.

"Takumi-san, is this alright?"

"It’s fine~ But the ingredients are a secret, so please don’t ask about them. Allen, Elena, Kaiser, it’s a secret, okay?"

""Okay~""

"Understood."

With this, they shouldn’t find out it was made with Blue Dragon meat.

""Let’s eat~!""

Allen and Elena led the meal with their cheerful declaration, and Patrick-san and his group started with the curry.

""""Mmm!?""""

"Takumi’s curry is delicious, isn’t it?"

While chewing, Patrick-san and the others nodded enthusiastically at Kaiser’s words.

"This is amazing. I won’t ask about the ingredients since I promised, but is it the meat? It’s tender and delicious."

"It’s fantastic, Takumi-san."

"I’ve had similar dishes in the capital, but this is worlds apart."

"It’s superb! I won’t ask about the ingredients, but guessing should be fine, right? This has to be high-rank monster meat!"

"Well, I’ll say you’re correct about it being monster meat."

If they managed to guess what kind of monster it was, I’d admit it honestly, but… well, it wasn’t likely they could.

""It’s—!""

"Hey! Allen, Elena!"

""Oops, it’s a secret~""

The children almost revealed that it was dragon meat, but I stopped them just in time.

"Oh my, it would’ve been fine if they’d accidentally said it, but too bad."

"Hahaha~ If I told you, everyone would be so shocked they’d fall over, so I won’t say."

"Is that so? Then we’ve been treated to something truly special. Thank you very much."

Though clearly intrigued, they refrained from prying too much.

""Phew~ So full~""

The kids and Kaiser were too stuffed to move for a while after lunch, so I started the afternoon’s cooking on my own.

"Let’s see, cheesecake it is. What kind of cheesecake should we make?"

"This one looks tasty."

"This one’s nice too~"

As I was looking through the recipe book Marianora-sama gave me, trying to decide what to make, the kids, who were supposedly too full to move, joined in.

"Rich baked cheesecake and tiramisu, huh. Alright, let’s go with those."

We made enough for the afternoon tea with Patrick-san and his group, some to keep on hand, and probably some for Marianora-sama, who would surely want some too…. In the end, we made a large batch.
