Chapter 1807: Pillars, Veins & Pulses
After mulling it over, Wang Wei decided to call the first stage the [Command Light] and the evolution — which is on par with Will Domination — the Manipulation Light. Without wasting any time, he continued his cultivation. Now that he understood the essence of the Soul Path, he only needed to focus on achieving the state of [Controlling All Phenomena].
Interestingly enough, Wang Wei discovered the best way to achieve this state was to improve on his [Force Control Skill]. As one of Wang Wei’s crowning achievements in the cultivation world, this technique grants an individual a level of mastery over [Force] — a broad term for all types of power between Heaven and Earth — that is truly unparalleled.
In some ways, Wang Wei has always been following the path of controlling all phenomena. The only difference is that his focus has always been on the controlling aspect; he wanted to achieve mastery of strength and beyond. Now, he only needed to focus on the "all phenomena" aspect, and his path forward was broad.
As such, he achieved the second stage — Manipulation Light — in record speed. More importantly, he had opened the path to breaking from his current realm into — Heavenly Dao Mastery — into Saint Realm Mastery. Previously, Wang Wei deduced that the next stage of the skill should be [True Heavenly Dao Mastery], but at that time, he did not have much information about the Saint Realm.
But now, Wang Wei theorized that [Saint Mastery] will come before [True Heavenly Dao Mastery]. Just as most cultivators — including Great Emperors — cannot easily achieve a level of control comparable to the lower dimension Heavenly Dao because the latter is an innate being born to wield the laws, Wang Wei believed the same.
True Heavenly Dao might only be on par with 3-pillar Primordial Chaos Saints, but as a lifeform created by Grand Dao to control the rules of Heaven and Earth, most Saints — even those of higher pillars — might not have the same skill level as it. So, for now, Wang Wei classified the next realm of the [Force Control Skill] into the Saint (1-12 pillars) and True Heavenly Dao Realm.
Time was irrelevant to Wang Wei and cultivators of his level. There were no suppressing rules in the Soul Apertures Tower, so he continued his retreat there. Although he knew someone might have discovered his new path, he didn’t put too much focus on it. He had figured the sect had such a method, but for some reason — probably because of the Soul Chaos Demon God — it was kept a secret.
The next step in his cultivation was condensing the Soul Saint Will Prototype. Sadly, Wang Wei had reached a bottleneck. No matter what he tried, he couldn’t find the clue for the final transformation. After analysing himself, he realized the reason was that his strength had increased too fast in the past few yuan epochs. His previous attempt to harmonize his Essence, Spirit, and Dao was not as perfect as he had anticipated.
"It will take too long before I can achieve perfect harmonization and condense this prototype," Wang Wei thought. Normally, he wouldn’t have minded taking things slow. However, the battle was less than 2 Yuan Epoch away, and at that time, his life might be in danger. The stronger he is by that time, the higher his chances of escaping or benefiting from the experience will be.
"There is no point in keeping it," Wang Wei thought. He immediately shared the merit Kong handed to him after using his idea. Wang Wei’s comprehension was already terrifying, and he had recently received another boost from his soul cultivation. Adding the benefit of his [Three Paths–Three Selves Techniques] (which is weakened a bit because of the setting), Wang Wei immediately entered a state that he called [Nigh Omniscient] after the boost from the merit.
Although a bit exaggerated, that’s how he felt. His mind was so clear that it felt like he could know everything. If not for his Saint Dao Heart, he might have lost himself in that feeling. In this state, he swiftly mastered his new power, achieving a near-perfect harmony of his body, soul, qi, and Dao. Then, things proceeded naturally. His Manipulation Light transformed into a Soul Saint Will Prototype.
What followed was a swift mastery of this power. The process was so easy that the best way Wang Wei could describe it was that he was given a test on a difficult problem. Someone gave him the answer, including a detailed analysis of the subject, including notes, different views, and approaches from countless experts.
"There is still some merit left, so let’s make the best of it," Wang Wei thought. The creation of the Supreme Saint Will requires a medium, and the best one was the [Mark] or [Imprint] condensed from each path. The Dao follows nature, so the Dao Imprint manifested naturally after becoming a Great Emperor. The Essence Mark required a deep knowledge and significant understanding of the Essence Refining Path, and this holds true for the Spirit Refining Path as well.
However, Wang Wei had to admit his knowledge on the subject could not compare to the Path of Essence. Although one of his secondary Dao is Soul, he had spent most of his cultivation journey relying on his Innate Paragon Soul. Later, he realized he needed to have no advantage, so he spent a considerable amount of time studying the soul, but his level paled in comparison to the mastery of his Dao or his flesh cultivation. By the time all the merits were used, he had only created 20% of a satisfying Soul Mark.
Wang Wei raised his hand, and a dark-gold lightning flashed around it. He frowned: "While it’s still possible to add the Soul Saint Will Prototype to the Supreme Saint Will using the current Soul Mark, the effect has only increased the power by 5%."
Five percent might not seem much, but it was. At their level, even a 0.5% difference in strength can mean defeat and victory, life or death, let alone 5%. However, the projected increase in this power’s strength should have been much higher than 5%, which explains Wang Wei’s disappointment.
"I’ve reached the limit of my current foundation. It’s time to continue amassing more," Wang Wei thought.
Holy Son Manor, Main Room:
Wang Wei was calmly drinking tea while observing the paintings on the wall depicting Pangu splitting Primordial Chaos. The thing was well-made, enough so that even an ordinary Paragon would instantly enter a state of enlightenment after laying eyes on it. If he had enough time, Wang Wei wanted to learn the world’s art and crafts. And if he has a chance, he’ll steal those books from the library to enrich his sect.
"Sir," Fangjin bowed. Wang Wei glanced at him. Even now, after his soul strength had increased, he still felt the constant desire to trust this man. Although the power had reduced a bit, it was not by much.
"Do you have something to report?"
"You have received many offers for cooperation. Here is a list of the offers."
"Oh?" Wang Wei received the document. "That’s more than I thought. Did something happen to instigate them like this?"
"A while ago, Miss Dongfang exited her retreat and easily suppressed all the other seeds."
"She must have condensed the Saint Will Prototype and even learned a bit about my skills."
"Indeed."
"Did she challenge me?"
"No."
"Wise girl," Wang Wei nodded. He perused the list, and most of the items were quite enticing, including Saint Pills. Sadly, Wang Wei doesn’t dare use any of them. One person even offered him another cultivation cauldron for his help, and it was a woman whom Wang Wei could describe without a doubt as the sexiest woman he had seen in his life — besides his wife, of course. Sadly, he only appreciated the attached picture before moving on.
At first, he was just going to get his hands on a few True Saint Materials and get this deal over with to stop these people from causing trouble, but one thing caught his attention—a book with the title — [Detached Foundation: The Method of 36 Veins].
Wang Wei’s eyes squinted. Over the years, he left a clone and a few spirit particles to read and memorize countless things from the library to bring back to the Dao Opening Sect. Although he had no access to knowledge of Tribunal Lords and above, he knew some common knowledge.
There is a common saying that is known to all the disciples with the potential to achieve Sainthood: [12 Pillars, 80 Veins, and 360 Pulses]. Primordial Saints have 12 Man/Self pillars, Tribunal Saints have 80 Earth Veins, and Grand Dao Saints have 360 Heavenly Veins.
However, that’s only for ordinary people and not the limit. The Detached Foundation, or the Transcendent Foundation, comprises 13 Pillars, 81 Veins, and 365 Pulses. Wang Wei was confident he could achieve the 13 pillars, but he knew nothing about how to achieve 81 Veins.
