Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1927: Rune Sage

Chapter 1927: Rune Sage

Wu Hong opened her eyes, and a rune flashed on her forehead before disappearing. Time was of the essence, so she wasted no time. She left her room and contacted Long Aojing to begin an inspection tour of the Destiny Hope Array. Technically speaking, this was unnecessary since the spirit had granted her direct access to all the array secrets.

However, Wu Hong needed to put on a show for everyone else so as not to reveal that she had the same power or authority over the array as Long Aojing. Secondly, there were a few things that she needed to verify personally. So, after reuniting with Nie Rouxin and a delegate of Array Masters, Wu Hong began visiting the core areas that made up the array, with her last stop being the military bases, including the destroyed one.

"Sister Wu, is something wrong?" Nie Rouxin asked after seeing Wu Hong frowning ever since they started visiting the bases.

"The ore used to form these bases, is it extinct?"

"Yes, it's one of the reasons we haven't been able to do much about the array," Nie Rouxin nodded. "In fact, it's not just this ore. The Anti-Destructo Ore is also extinct. Well, there might be some small reserves in the central area, but even they cannot artificially recreate it. So, we've been surviving on recycling the reserve we have. But, as you can imagine, with each battle, a small portion is forever destroyed."

Wu Hong nodded.

"Will that be an issue?"

"No, but it will complicate things," Wu Hong replied. Her space ring contained countless spiritual ores from the Primordial Timeline, which can be used as replacements. However, she needs to test out whether these spiritual minerals will be affected by the rules of this timeline.

"Is there anything we can do to help?"

"No, wait, does your husband have any Emperor Path followers?"

"We have a small group secretly hidden," Nie Rouxin nodded. She understood that there were some things Emperor Paths was innately better at, so she advised Long Aojing to train a small, secret book.

"Send them along with as many Weapon Makers as you have. Additionally, find me as many Earth or Metal Qi non-combatant cultivators you can spare. In five yuan epochs, I will meet everybody in the Earth Sovereign World."

"Five yuan epochs?"

"Can't you hold for that long?" Wu Hong glanced at her.

"We probably can, but can you give us some temporary fix for the array?"

"I've already prepared that," Wu Hong nodded as she handed her an information talisman. During the tour, she had already thought of a method involving building false replacements for the military bases to temporarily repair the Destiny Hope Array.

"Sister Wu, thank you," Nie Rouxin said, her eyes full of sincerity. Wu Hong was an outsider, with no obligation to help them. Although Nie Rouxin knew she probably had her own motive, that didn't matter. Wu Hong's help still brought hope to her, her husband, and every person of the Borderworld.

Wu Hong nodded before leaving, returning to the inheritance secret realm in the Source Qi Space. Her understanding of the Destiny Hope Array was not enough to achieve everything she had planned, which meant she required a retreat. With a Time Acceleration Array, Wu Hong could spend 50 Yuan Epochs studying the array, and that's while having direct access to its essence by the array spirit.

Wu Hong's calculations were slightly wrong. Instead of five Yuan Epochs, she took seven. And by the time she arrived at the Earth Sovereign World, she could feel the tick tension, and it wasn't because of the animosity between the Qi and Emperor Path.

"Sister Wu, I thought you had abandoned us," Nie Rouxin swiftly said.

"My retreat took longer than I anticipated, but now, everything is ready."

"Is that so? That's good to hear," Nie Rouxin nodded before turning to the irate crowd. "You guys heard this? She was in the middle of an epiphany to study the Destiny Hope Array." Unfortunately for her, the only answer she received was countless cold snorts.

"You!"

Wu Hong raised her hand to stop her. She glanced at the group and said: "I don't care who you are, where you're from, or what path you cultivate. All I care about is your ability." After uttering these words, Wu Hong ignored the crowd's reaction and summoned a cushion. She sat on it before floating in the air. With a flicker of her wrist, she enacted a Time Acceleration Array. Then, without missing a beat, she immediately started a sermon about Rune Dao; to be precise, Rune Dao based on the Symbol Array Master's inheritance.

The sermon lasted one Yuan Epoch in true time or 10 Yuan Epochs inside the formation. Wu Hong covered everything during the process, ensuring that everyone could learn something. After all, this team was composed of Array masters, Weapon makers, and ordinary cultivators. By the end, everybody had learned something valuable. More importantly, no one dared to complain. No matter the universe or timeline, people worship powerful or capable individuals, An elderly Array Master dressed in a blue robe suddenly rushed to the front, knelt, and bowed until his forehead touched the ground. Wu Hong glanced at him, but before she could say anything, others followed the elderly man. In a few seconds, more than three-thirds knelt and thanked her, while the rest bowed politely, all saying the same thing: "Thank you, Rune Sage, for spreading the Dao."

"I accept your sincerity," Wu Hong calmly said. With a wave of her hand, everyone on the floor was carried to their feet by a gentle force. There was a lot of work to do, so Wu Hong did not dwell too much on their thanks. With a snap of her finger, a wall full of runes appeared between Heaven and Earth. And as soon as it appeared, everybody attending the sermon — except for Nie Rouxin — seemed to have suddenly lost their mind as they fixated on that wall.

"Sister, what is this?"

"I need to test the qualified individuals," Wu Hong replied calmly.

"I see."

The process lasted a few hours, and based on the best results, Wu Hong selected group leaders to assist her directly. A few people complained, but immediately quieted down after hearing the leaders' results.

"Now, can we start?" Nie Rouxin asked.

"Not yet." Wu Hong waved his hand, and more than a dozen individuals suddenly turned into cubes as they were instantly sealed.

"Sister?"

"These people are spies or have already betrayed us. You can deal with them as you see fit."

"Damn it," Nie Rouxin cursed. There was nothing she hated more than traitors. She decided that she would make these people regret they were ever born.

Wu Hong did not focus on these people's fate as she had more important things to do. The first step was to create a replacement for the unique ore used to build the array bases. She planned to use an already existing ore in this world that was abundant and combine it with an ore from the primordial timeline to create an alloy. Then, she would set up a formation to artificially create whatever primordial ore was required in the process.

After a few experiments, Wu Hong discovered that a primordial mineral called Heartcore Iron worked perfectly with a mineral in this timeline called white steel; their combination created [Hope Steel] — a name Nie Rouxin came up with that Wu Hong was nonchalant about. With a foundation established, Wu Hong finally began repairing the array.

Under her leadership, the Weapon Makers built bases with Hope Steel one after another. Previously, Wu Hong gave the commander a method involving using pillars to replace the destroyed bases to keep the array running. Finally, Wu Hong's brilliance was revealed as people realized that these pillars actually served as a foundation for the Hope Steel Bases, allowing them to be installed as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, the Red Cloud seemed to have sensed something as more and more legions of Destructo Beast rushed toward these bases, trying to prevent their construction. Commander Long — for all his faults — led his people bravely as he resisted invasion after invasion. However, there were a few times he was outmatched, forcing Wu Hong to rush to the frontline to aid him.

The rebuilding process took 57 yuan epochs, but the Destiny Hope Array was finally repaired. The news spread, and everybody celebrated: from soldiers to military leaders, to the people who provided the true power to the array. It's been a long time since the people had heard any good news, so Long Aojing used this opportunity to spread the word as far as possible. He didn't even consider the central area's reaction. After all, now that the array was repaired, he was more confident facing them.

Sky Ocean World, Celebration Dinner:

Wu Hong — who was the center of this celebration — calmly drank her tea. This dinner only consisted of Long Aojing, a few of his wives, a few top military personnel, and all the leaders who had followed Wu Hong. She chatted with a few people and waited until everyone had had enough fun before saying: "Now that you've enjoyed yourself, it's time to get back to work."
