Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1936: Saintess

Chapter 1936: Saintess

Wu Hong walked out of her seclusion with the avatar already waiting.

"Well?"

"Failed."

"Why?"

"There were some complications," Wu Hong replied, explaining the situation.

"Don't you have some merit in reserves? Do you want to try it?"

"Only a small portion is left, and I don't think it will be enough."

The avatar sighed. "It's unfortunate this timeline doesn't have Grand Dao. Otherwise, with all our actions, we would be swimming in merit."

"True," Wu Hong nodded. "How are things on your side?"

"Not good. I've run all the simulations, and no matter which method, we can't bypass the array spirit and take full control."

"Why is that?"

"A bit of its essence is still from Grand Dao."

"What if we use the Grand Dao Seal?"

"I've thought about that and even tested it. However, as soon as the array spirit feels threatened, it will hide. And I'm telling you, its senses are sharp."

"Test? You didn't —"

"What do you take me for? I used the Destructo Race as a pawn."

"That's good," Wu Hong nodded. "What about Long Aojing's side?"

The avatar immediately sneered. "That loser has been quietly trying to reduce our military power and our influence among the mortals. He's even tried to rebuild his own Array Master group; the curse once again killed them."

"He actually dared to use forbidden knowledge?"

"Not at all. He just wanted to use regular professionals to replace our puppets. But, they all died?"

"That doesn't make sense, unless —"

"The entire profession of Array Master has now become a taboo," the avatar nodded. "Now, no one wants to touch anything related to that field. In fact, most people have begun purposely destroying all records about Array Masters."

The avatar couldn't help but shake her head. Whoever is behind that curse does not want anyone capable of fixing the Destiny Hope Array to exist. And they were willing to go to extreme means.

"The destruction of knowledge? Truly a disgusting existence," Wu Hong sneered. "Did you try to save those records?"

"I did, but not all of it. Plus, what's the use if only we can use it?"

"It's fine if only we can use it. And it might be useful one day if this world is miraculously saved," Wu Hong explained. "What's the situation for the central area?"

"Nothing much. All our attempts to bypass their barrier have failed, except for the areas controlled by the Emperor Dao Holy Land, but I'm pretty sure it's because they've allowed us entry," the avatar replied. "But I did learn that the Emperor Holy Land has been blocking the other two, which is why they haven't been intervening in our affairs. However, it's hard to verify the true legitimacy of this information."

"I see," Wu Hong nodded.

"Oh, there is one more thing about Long Aojing. He's entered seclusion, most likely for a breakthrough."

Wu Hong squinted. "If he becomes a Quasi-Saint, he'll be one step closer to sanctification. By then, it will be hard to tell what the Array Spirit will do."

"That's my concern. So, whatever our next plan is, we must hurry it up."

"Our next step is to acquire the power to fight Saints. Without it, I won't feel secure."

"The best way to do that is to set up an array, but you should know we can't do that unless we have Saint resources. So, how do we solve that?"

Wu Hong looked in the distance; her eyes penetrated countless spaces to observe the Source Qi Space directly. "The Three Path Array will not last long, so we must use the most direct and efficient approach."

"You want to join the Emperor Dao Holy Land?"

"Yes."

"But that's dangerous since we can't trust them."

"We don't have to trust them; we just need to ensure they can't harm us."

"...You want me to go, don't you?"

"The Three Paths Array still needs me to repair and buy us some time. So, after giving you a few methods to protect our karmic link, you can take my place to visit."

"It's not like I have a choice anyway," the avatar complained. "By the way, what do you plan to do with Nie Rouxin? The poor girl has been sad since you stopped interacting with her."

"She's quite talented and also the perfect inheritor for my Rune Dao," Wu Hong commented. While she loved her two apprentices, Wu Hong always felt she was missing someone to inherit her Dao. Before, she had Hong Meiling, but the poor girl died during the Paragon Tribulation. A lot has happened since then, and Wu Hong did not have the time to spend millions of yuan epochs trying to revive her. Nie Rouxin was perfect in that regard. Sadly, it may not happen.

"If she can see through Long Aojing, I'll bring her back when I leave. If not, I'll leave it to fate."

"Maybe that's for the best."

The two discussed for a few hours before separating. Wu Hong headed directly to the Source Qi Space. Fixing the Three Path Array is not as simple as the Destiny Hope Array, and it's not only because it's a Saint Array; to be precise, it's Three Saint Arrays fused into one. More importantly, it's connected to the array that barricades the central area from the Borderworld, which means that the Holy Lands might be able to interfere in her attempt to fix it.

Meanwhile, the avatar prepared before heading to the [Heaven Division Barrier] that protected the central area. She didn't use the small flaw the Emperor Dao Holy Land left for her. Instead, she waited outside, and as expected, Han Guo and a delegation of more than a thousand people showed up.

Han Guo led everybody to bow more than ninety degrees: "Welcome, Saintess!" Their voice spread throughout Primordial Chaos, even resonating with the surrounding laws and Qi. Wu Hong frowned. This was too ostentatious, but since she was here, it also meant she had accepted the title and responsibility of the Saintess.

"Get up," Wu Hong nodded.

"Thank you, Saintess."

"Let's not spend too much time here. There are too many eyes." She had sensed countless prying eyes ever since the delegation arrived, and it wasn't hard to guess their origin.

"Saintess, please," Han Guo nodded before leading Wu Hong to the Dao Blessed World.

Boom!

As soon as Wu Hong arrived, Heaven and Earth suddenly changed. A towering golden scroll with the word [Emperor List] written at the top manifested in the sky, releasing a terrifying vision of purple clouds, Sages singing, and Dao music. Then, a purple-gold dragon with 33 legs flew out of the scroll; it roared with joy before roaming throughout Heaven and Earth, showing its majesty. Finally, the dragon arrived in front of Wu Hong, lowered its head, indicating she should get on.

Wu Hong glanced at Han Guo, and the diviner calmly said: "This wasn't part of the plan, but it is a welcome change."

Wu Hong did not comment on the situation and just accepted it. After jumping on the dragon's head, she sat cross-legged, wishing to enjoy the journey. A few people wanted to follow her, but the arrogant dragon coldly glanced at them before flying away, forcing the delegation to follow behind.

Taking this moment, Wu Hong began to observe the world. The best way to describe this place would be a strict hierarchy. The majority of mortals live in the Northern Continent, which has the least resources, including a low amount of spiritual energy. The mortals will spend all their lives in that area, and the only way they can move is if they have the talent for cultivation or if one of their family members succeeds in cultivation.

Qi Cultivators live in the Southern Continent. Their existence is only to serve Great Emperors. And as far as Wu Hongi can see, many of them are even treated worse than slaves. Rebellions are probably common in that area, but in this world dominated by the Emperor Path, their struggle is useless.

Regular Emperor Path Cultivators rule the Eastern Continent. They are the mainstream of the world, so they have an abundance of resources. The Western Continent is an interesting area because the Xi Royal family rules it. As descendants of the [Supreme Emperor] — one of the Three Saints of this timeline — they should have been the rulers of the world and even the Emperor Path, but considering that the holy land is now in charge, it's easy to guess the tension between them.

The delegation was from the Central Continent, where all the talented and Elite Emperors resigned, 99% of whom are part of the Holy Land. Upon arrival, Wu Hong saw the purple mist and the seven towers.

"The Emperors of this timeline seemed obsessed with displaying their status," Wu Hong thought as she glanced at those towers that reached the sky.

"Saintess, our destination is Sovereign Peak, the one in the middle," Han Guo stated.

"Lead the way."
