Chapter 2670: I’ll Never Forget You
Chapter 2670: I’ll Never Forget You
Despite knowing this wasn't the real White Jade Sect, the sight of the familiar square still made Yan Xuehen nervous. “What are you doing?”
“I knew Sect Master Yan wouldn’t allow me to do it in the White Jade Sect, so I could only construct another one.” Zu An gleefully toured the area with her in his arms. “Does it look similar?”
Similar? It’s identical! Yan Xuehen thought to herself. She was awed by his ability to remember the details despite having only been there once.
But recalling his purpose for recreating this scene made her embarrassed and angry. He's the god of this world now, yet he’s using his powers for such nonsense!
“Don’t do it here. It feels weird.” Yan Xuehen’s fair skin was now so red that it looked as if blood would ooze out of it.
“Is it because there are no disciples here? That isn’t a problem.” Zu An waved his hand, conjuring figures wearing the White Jade Sect’s uniforms and carrying the White Jade Sect’s swords.
Yan Xuehen was stunned. She felt as if she had really returned to the White Jade Sect, especially when two nearby disciples noticed her and walked over to greet her.
“Paying respects to Sect Master Yan.”
Yan Xuehen was so embarrassed that she hurriedly buried her head in Zu An’s arms, not daring to reply. If there were a hole in the ground, she would have leaped into it without any hesitation.
She knew that these figures were fake, evident from their spiritless eyes, but Zu An’s ability to reconstruct the White Jade Sect and its disciples was still ridiculous. The thought of the usually stoic Sect Master Yan being carried into the White Jade Sect’s most sacred hall and bullied in front of its disciples made her tremble nonstop.
“Are they not real enough for you? Unfortunately, I can’t construct real humans yet. Why don’t I take you back to the White Jade Sect? We should be able to get there in the blink of an eye,” Zu An whispered to her.
“No!” Yan Xuehen exclaimed. She would die of shame if she returned to the White Jade Sect in her current state.
But when she saw Zu An’s mischievous grin, she knew right away that he was teasing her.
“You!” Yan Xuehen was so angry that she bit his shoulder. He’s terrible! No wonder Chuyan was fooled by him!
You have successfully trolled Yan Xuehen for +55... +55... +55...
Zu An laughed. With a wave of his hand, the surrounding ‘White Jade Sect disciples’ dissipated. “Looks like you’re satisfied with this place.”
Yan Xuehen gritted her teeth. She couldn’t say she was dissatisfied, or else Zu An would probably just bring her back to the White Jade Sect. He had always been fearless and brazen, and now that he had grown this strong, no one could stop him anymore.
She thought about Chuyan’s request and earnestly lectured him, “Ah Zu, with great power must come great responsibility. You mustn’t use your abilities on such nonsense.” She thought that she had to correct Zu An lest he go overboard. It would be a huge pity if he went down the wrong path.
Zu An kissed her ear and whispered, “I’ll stop messing around... if you promise me.”
The sensation made the sensitive Yan Xuehen shudder. After hearing his words, her face heated up. “How can you threaten me? How are you any different from the Devil Sect then?”
Zu An burst into laughter. “Oh, there is a huge difference. Countless Devil Sect experts have dreamed about taking advantage of the leader of the orthodox sects, the White Jade Sect’s Immortal Yan. None of them have succeeded to date, but I did.”
Yan Xuehen groaned in agony. This fellow is so shameless that there’s no reasoning with him!
“Fine. Do whatever... you want. But you mustn’t speak like that ever again.”
“It’s a deal.”
...
Yan Xuehen had never observed the White Jade Sect from this angle, but very soon, she learned the number of glass tiles on top of the White Jade Sect’s gates, the number of bricks in front of the hall, and the number of candles and incense sticks inside the hall...
In the end, she mustered her final sliver of demureness and meekly said, “You've already used up the three times I promised you...”
Zu An was amused. “This only counts as once.”
Yan Xuehen became agitated. “How can this count as once? From the gate until now...”
She was too embarrassed to continue speaking. This fellow is like a demon king!
Seeing the lofty immortal revealing such mortal emotions further stoked Zu An’s excitement. He hugged her tightly in his arms. “I’ll make sure you never forget about me.”
Yan Xuehen realized that his actions were driven by the fear that she might forget him one day. That filled her heart with tenderness. She gently accepted everything and said, “Ah Zu, I’ll never forget you.”
...
Meanwhile, Pei Mianman looked at the ethereal fairy from the peak of the academy’s Mount Yuquan. “Sect Master Yan?”
She'd been in the Devil Sect when Zu An suddenly transported her here. It was to let Ji Xiaoxi and Xie Daoyun reunite with their family members. She was heartened by the sight, but she was also envious of the kinship they shared.
She'd wanted to have a private chat with Zu An, but the latter had gone on to lecture for three straight days in the academy. She couldn’t find an opportunity to approach him.
She'd excitedly rushed over here to look for Zu An when he finally concluded his lecture, but when she entered, the latter was nowhere to be found. Instead, there was a beautiful woman.
She'd thought that Zu An was hiding a lover, but at second glance, she realized that the woman was Yan Xuehen and was taken aback.
She knew Yan Xuehen was Chu Chuyan’s master, and she was aware of Yan Xuehen’s resounding reputation in the Dao Gate and among the orthodox sects. However, her impression of Yan Xuehen shattered when she bumped into her getting steamy with Zu An.
“Sect Master Yan?” Thinking it would be inappropriate to just turn around and leave, Pei Mianman tried calling out to her. Is she here for a secret liaison with Ah Zu? But he isn’t here.
But the other party didn’t respond, leaving Pei Mianman perplexed. With her cultivation, even if she was asleep, she should have awakened when I called out to her.
Taking a closer look, she noticed Yan Xuehen’s snowy skin had turned red, and her breathing was ragged. She seemed to be moaning in pain.
“Is she having a cultivation deviation?” Pei Mianman was taken aback. Be it for Chu Chuyan or Zu An, she couldn’t turn a blind eye to this.
She thought about treating Yan Xuehen to stabilize her condition, but she was worried that her intervention could worsen the situation instead. This made her panic.
Yan Xuehen was panicking too. She could vaguely hear sounds, and that made her pale in horror. “Ah Zu, I think there’s someone next to my body.”
Zu An smiled. “Don’t worry. You’re fine.”
He already knew that it was Pei Mianman, which was why he hadn’t activated the formations.
But Yan Xuehen was still worried. “There really is someone there! It seems to be Miss Pei.”
Knowing he couldn’t hide it anymore, Zu An projected the situation inside the room with a wave of his hand. “See, you aren’t in danger. She won’t hurt you.”
Yan Xuehen nearly fainted. She was already embarrassed about doing it with Zu An, and it definitely didn’t help that a junior was looking at her! Her soul was thousands of kilometers away, but the soul and the body were intricately linked.
If Pei Mianman figures out what’s going on, I should just smash my head into a block of tofu!
