Chapter 2770: This Is Love

The True Demon Emissary wasn't strong by the Myriad Worlds’ standard, but he'd had his fair share of fortuitous encounters. Bravado was a skill he'd learned that disregarded the gap in strength to cause a lapse in the opponent’s judgment.

That very skill was at the level of a law.

Caught off guard, Firework fell for it. She was initially taken aback before she was assaulted by a mix of anger and embarrassment. She hadn’t expected to be fooled by a mere ant.

“You want to escape?”

She grasped the fabric of space, and astonishingly, she found where Zu An was.

Zu An was taken aback. In the brief opening created by Bravado, he'd quickly activated a spatial teleportation to flee from the scene. It shouldn’t have been possible for anyone to chase him once he slipped into the fabric of space.

But Firework wasn't limited by such laws. She reached right into the fabric of space and grabbed him.

Tingxue immediately reacted with a slash. Zu An also took out the Poisonous Prick to secretly stab Firework’s hand.

“Hmph, is that the dagger of certain death? Big brother Zu, I know what you’re capable of.” Firework mocked him with a coy laugh. “I showed you mercy, but you sought to claim my life. Don’t you think you’re being heartless here?”

Her hand moved with incredible dexterity, flicking aside Tingxue’s sword and dodging Zu An’s assault to land on his shoulder.

“Heh, I’ve caught you... AH!” Firework suddenly retracted her hand with a yelp.

Zu An exploited this opportunity to finish the teleportation.

Firework stared at the prick on her finger. It was seeping black blood. She murmured with an awful complexion, “What kind of poison is this? To think it can hurt and inflict pain on me!”

She expelled the poisonous blood with a wave of her hand. It splattered and corroded a hole in the floor.

Her face was livid for a while before she burst into manic laughter. “Little man, you have caught my attention!”

Space distorted at the rift valley, and Zu An and Tingxue appeared by the cliff.

Tingxue awkwardly pulled back her hand before asking in confusion, “What did you use to hurt her earlier?”

Even her world-severing slashes struggled to hurt Firework, yet Zu An had managed to hurt her. That miserable yelp earlier reflected how much pain she'd been in.

Zu An noticed her movements and felt down despite knowing she wasn’t Yan Xuehen. Not only do they look identical, but even their hands are equally cold.

He pulled out a pitch-black stinger and explained, “This is the Scorpion King’s tail sting. It was rumored that its poison would be potent enough to kill any expert in the Myriad Worlds, though I doubt that woman can be killed by it.”

Tingxue nodded in agreement. “She is very powerful.”

A coy laugh echoed. “You know me well, big brother Zu.”

Zu An and Tingxue widened their eyes in shock.

Firework slowly descended from the sky as if walking down an invisible staircase. Her fair, smooth feet left gentle ripples in space, resembling blossoming flowers heralding her descent. Zu An might have swooned if not for the tremendous pressure she emanated.

“How did you catch up with us so quickly?” Zu An was taken aback.

He had grasped the essence of space in the Monster World, and Yumen Beiqing had generously imparted her knowledge to him in bed. His understanding of spatial teleportation was extremely high. He'd thought that he could shake off Firework with this, but she still caught up with them in the blink of an eye.

“Spatial manipulation is an easy feat for me, not to mention you’re still within the forbidden land,” Firework explained with a smile as she eyed their surroundings. “But isn’t that your goal? You’re hoping to lure me back to the Eight Barren Netherworld Suppression Formation.”

Worried that he would be suppressed by Firework, Zu An immediately activated the Eight Barren Netherworld Suppression Formation. The eight chains on the bridge turned reddish-orange as they lashed at Firework as if they were whips.

Firework harrumphed. “Do you think those whips are what stopped me all these years?”

She raised her fair hand and simultaneously grabbed all eight whips. They turned crimson, and runes furiously flowed across their surfaces. They were channeling all their strength to break free of Firework’s grip.

But it was to no avail. The whips couldn’t even char her skin.

“It would have been one thing for you to seal me when I was in a weakened state, but do you think I’d let you walk over me now that I’m out?” Firework flicked her hand, and the imposing chains shattered and fell into the rift valley.

Zu An was speechless. He had set the teleportation destination here because he could control the Eight Barren Netherworld Suppression Formation. He definitely hadn’t expected it to be destroyed right away.

I took so many blows for you when you could have destroyed the formation so easily...

Firework smiled. “Those whips caused you so much pain earlier. I've helped you get even with them. Aren’t you happy?”

Tingxue frowned. “It seems almost as if she has fallen in love with you?”

Zu An was speechless. Is this the time to be wondering about that?

Surprisingly, Firework murmured in confusion, “Hm? Something seems off. While I do harbor goodwill for you, this seems overboard. Did you use some kind of weird ability on me?”

Zu An said nothing.

He had an ability from the Golden Phoenix called ‘Love Is More Solid Than Gold’. It made women fall in love with him. Coincidentally, he'd only used that ability against Yan Xuehen because the latter was after his life. That made him eye Tingxue with guilt-ridden eyes.

Since then, he'd vowed not to use that despicable skill. It was underhanded to exploit someone else’s feelings like that.

That said, he wasn't an inflexible person. He would still use the ability if he was cornered.

He had indeed considered using it. It was a pity he didn’t have the Heiress Ball of Delights[1] anymore, so his only option was to use ‘Love Is More Solid than Gold’.
