Chapter 964 Kiran
Chapter 964 Kiran
Kiran's eyes widened as he was suddenly transported into a dark dimension.
"AAAHH!" he screamed, remembering the last time he had been in darkness.
The horrors of the Nightmare…
They were too much!
He expected to be attacked by the darkness, and yet…
The tortures never came.
His heart rate was still elevated due to his fear, but he was no longer completely terrified.
"Kiran."
A deep voice echoing through all of reality entered Kiran's ears.
"I have heard your wish," the dark voice spoke.
Kiran looked around in panic, but he could only see darkness.
"My wish?" he asked in confusion.
"You wish for humanity to stop fighting."
"You wish you had the power to change the world."
"I am willing to grant your wish."
Naturally, Kiran immediately believed he had been captured by a Specter.
"No, please! I don't know what you want, but I will do anything you want!" he shouted.
"SILENCE!"
The powerful voice made Kiran hold his ears, but that didn't help.
It was like the voice entered his mind directly.
"I have chosen you because of your wish."
"You wish to help humanity."
"Was that just a musing?"
"Do you not wish to help humanity?"
Kiran breathed heavily.
Help humanity?
He wanted that, yes, but what could he do?!
He was just a random teenager!
"Yes, you are powerless right now," the voice spoke, and Kiran's eyes widened.
Could the owner of this voice read his thoughts?!
"But I can grant you the power."
"I can give you the power to change the world."
"I can give you the power to free humanity."
Kiran's mind went wild.
The power to change humanity?
Naturally, he wanted that desperately, but could he trust this random voice?
Obviously not.
"I am offering you a choice," the voice spoke.
"Attain my power and lead humanity against the true enemy."
"Or refuse and be sent back to your family with your memories erased."
"You are free to choose whatever you desire."
Kiran's mind could barely form a coherent thought.
This was too surreal.
He couldn't make a choice.
"Look at the world," the voice spoke.
The next moment, Kiran saw the dark world around him vanishing.
He found himself in the sky, looking at the ground below.
He saw the city he lived in and the chaos.
Below the city, he could see a Specter releasing a powerful gas that made the people crazy.
The Specter was deeply hidden, but for some reason, Kiran could see it.
Then, the world around him shifted, and Kiran found himself flying through it.
He saw all the cities.
He saw all the Specters.
He saw the suffering.
Suddenly, the scenery changed again.
The current cities vanished, and the cities of the last era were rebuilt.
Kiran saw the legendary Champion of Light.
He saw how the Champion suppressed Nurse Alice.
He saw the cities.
The people were peaceful and happy.
Finally, the scenery changed one last time, and Kiran saw the Sun brightening above a couple of Specters.
Kiran saw the end of the era.
Unending suffering.
It was too horrifying to witness.
In the end, everything turned dark again.
"This was the last era."
"This was the world your great-grandmother lived in."
"Over the next 10,000 years, the cycle will repeat."
"Humanity will suffer."
"Then, the suffering gets worse."
"Humanity will grow stronger and gain the upper hand."
"The world will turn into a paradise."
"But then, the Sun will reset the era once again."
"It is a cycle of birth and rebirth."
"Suffering turns to happiness turns to suffering."
"It is humanity's destiny."
"Is this the destiny you want for humanity?"
Kiran breathed quickly.
"No, of course not!" he answered.
"There is a way out of this cycle," the voice spoke.
"But I cannot lead humanity."
"I need someone to lead humanity in my stead."
"Yet, this life is not easy."
"When any small error on your part leads to the death of thousands of people, can you keep going?"
"Can you live with the guilt?"
Kiran's heart rate had already shot through the roof.
"You have the power."
"I can grant you the power."
"Do you wish to help humanity?"
Kiran looked around in panic.
"I can't do that. I don't know how to lead anyone. I don't know what to do. I'm just a normal guy from a random city."
"SILENCE!" the voice spoke again.
"I have chosen you!"
"I can see all the thoughts of all the humans in the world!"
"I can see every secret in their bodies and minds!"
"I can destroy the skies, the seas, and the ground if I so choose to!"
"I have lived for thousands of years, and I have seen billions of people!"
"Do you believe you know how to choose someone better than me?!"
Kiran became terrified.
"No, of course not!" Kiran shouted.
"I have chosen you," the voice spoke.
"I have looked at every human in the world, and I have chosen you."
"You are the most qualified person for the job."
Kiran looked at the ground with horrified eyes.
How could he argue against that?
And yet, he just couldn't see it.
How was he special?
"You lack belief in yourself," the voice spoke.
Kiran nodded.
"Do you believe in my power?" the voice asked.
"I do," Kiran answered.
"Do you believe in my wisdom?"
"I do," Kiran said.
"Then, why do you lack belief in yourself? I believe in you, and if someone with my power and wisdom believes in you, how can you doubt that?"
"You might not trust yourself."
"But you trust me."
"And I believe in you."
"I do not make wrong choices."
"What about you?"
"What will your choice be?"
"Will you lead humanity, or will you join the billions of forgotten humans?"
Kiran was still uncertain.
He couldn't decide.
"You have already made your choice," the voice spoke. "I can see it in your heart."
"The choice is made."
"Why hesitate?"
When Kiran heard that, his conviction rose.
"If you believe in me," he said, looking up at the darkness.
"Then,I will also believe in me."
"I accept."
