Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power

Chapter 433 – Deal? Deal.

Slowly, Kaden and Rea broke their bloody kiss, their chests rising and falling, the scent of blood so thick it felt like they were in a river of blood.

They locked their eyes into each other, their breathing in eerie sync. Rea slowly moved her bloodied hands around his face, caressing his lips with her fingers in the process.

She bit her lower lip, leaning forward to his right ear, her hair clanking with the rings knotted in it, and whispered:

"I will kill for you." Her voice was thick with hunger and madness. "I want you to kill for me."

"You want me to love you I n the way you wanted to be loved." Kaden replied. "Even if it means blood will be spilled?"

"Especially if blood will be spilled," Rea said instantly. "Join me in my domain, and I will join yours."

Kaden fell silent for a heartbeat, his eyes searching for something inside the ruby-black eyes of Rea.

Seeming to find it, he smiled, the tone of his voice mirroring Rea’s. "As you wish."

They locked their eyes together and smiled with their teeth bloodied by each other’s blood.

Afterwards, the two fiancées fell into comfortable silence. No matter how much energy they had, the event just now had been draining.

The fight with the Forbidden Alchemist, the death of Einar, their strange and ritualistic talk about their new relationship, and even a literal death for Kaden... all of that made the two fiancées sprawl on the ground.

Rea was lying atop Kaden, closing her eyes into tender sleep.

It would be hard. The goddess seemed to be more motivated in corrupting her mind lately, making her anticipate a tough sleep.

She didn’t mind. She was used to it, and it was better than nothing.

However, the God-Touched was surprised to see her expectation miraculously fail. Her sleep had been peaceful, filled with a brilliant crimson-gold sun that kept the screaming, wrathful goddess at bay.

Rea didn’t need to be a Seer to divine who the culprit was for such a thing. And that made her happier, and surer of her decision.

Thus, for the first time since she awakened, Rea Thornspire slept peacefully.

...

Kaden felt a weight pressing down on his chest. He let out a groan, eyes flickering open.

His first sight was blurry, needing him to blink a couple of times before seeing Rea’s face an inch from his.

"It’s time we clear this dungeon, sleepy Kaden." She said, clapping his right cheek repeatedly as if he was still not awake. "So wake up."

"I already am." He groaned, pushing himself up, causing Rea to stagger to her feet.

Her white clothes were all bloodied, her cheeks still black from her tears. Yet the young lady didn’t seem to mind her current appearance.

In fact,

"How do you find me?" She asked, baring a grin. "I think this look suits me well."

"And I think you are damned crazy if you think that." Kaden rolled his eyes. "Don’t you have spare clothes?"

"You are judging my aesthetic once more." Rea narrowed her eyes, displeased.

Kaden’s answer was a shrug.

He moved toward the heart lying on the ground and crouched down to better inspect it. Taking it into his grasp — it was heavy and slimy like oil — Kaden strangely felt life still pumping through the heart.

He looked deeper at it and noticed runes — almost invisible to the naked eye — slithering all around the heart.

"Do you have a plan for this heart?" Rea asked, crouching beside him. "If not, give it to me."

Kaden spared her a sidelong glance. "For what?"

"I want to know more about the Alchemist. He called himself Forbidden, so there must be something worthy of discovering inside his heart."

"And his brain." Kaden added.

Rea nodded. "Besides," she smiled strangely, "I always thought having a second heart is not a bad idea." She looked at him. "I can love you better with two hearts inside me."

"Please, don’t give me ideas." Kaden suppressed a laugh. "Don’t you think I’m the one who needs a second heart? Bloody hell, I need a heart for each of you."

Rea abruptly paused at those words, eyes widening in realization.

Their eyes transfixed on each other, and slowly their lips pulled into a wide, toothy, madness-filled grin.

"You know what, Kaden," Rea whispered. "Take this heart. If you want, I will search for other hearts to give you. Can I take the one from this useless Rudolph? This pathetic guy can be of use, at least."

"You want us to fail this quest?" Kaden shook his head. "And though I don’t doubt Rudolph’s heart would be interesting, let’s not take it. We will find something else."

Rea shrugged indifferently. "Just wanted to help those other girls. Don’t forget to tell them I’m the one who gave you the heart so you can love them."

"You should tell them yourself."

"Sorrow burn me, I’m afraid I will want to kill them at first sight."

"I thought it was just to test them?"

"Exactly," Rea nodded. "My way of testing is like that."

Kaden decided not to answer. His mind focused on the possible consequences of gaining a second heart, especially one belonging to the Forbidden Alchemist.

But all of that was unnecessary. His Synthesis Trait could fuse anything with him without side effects.

’So it’s settled, then.’ He thought, lifting his eyes to stare at the Alchemist’s corpse.

Instantly, a weird, gory thought flashed through his mind. His lips twitched, pondering only briefly before mechanically turning his head toward Rea.

Feeling his gaze, she shifted her focus to him, lifting an eyebrow in a quizzical manner.

"You are staring at me too hard." She said.

"The brain," Kaden said, ignoring her words. "Do you want the brain?"

Rea visibly paused, looking at Kaden incredulously.

"What do you take me for?" She asked outrageously.

"A crazy woman." He said, paused, then corrected himself. "My crazy woman."

Rea nodded, pleased. "You have said something that pleases me for once."

"With you saying this, it might be the last." He scoffed. Rea cursed him, then he continued. "So will you take it? You certainly need the brain more than me."

"In the same way your godforsaken heart cannot bear the burden of your greed." She sneered. "Are you not ashamed?"

"I am not."

Rea clicked her tongue. "I’ll take it." She accepted, looking at the corpse with glowing eyes.

"I take the brain. You take the heart, Kaden. Deal?"

"Deal."

...

Meanwhile, in a strange realm made of living, twisting, swirling runes, the Forbidden Alchemist opened his eyes, feeling a part of his consciousness return to him.

His face creased in slight confusion as he felt a curse attached to him. With speed faster than thought, he neutralized the curse with his runes.

He smiled, then chuckled without humor.

"Now this is worrying." Forbidden whispered, digesting the information of his battle against Kaden and Rea.

"Something happened?" A feminine voice echoed through the realm, sweet like musk yet indifferent like ice.

"Oh yes." Forbidden chuckled. "I just realized, darling, that the gods are still underestimating Prometheus."

"What did the boy do again?"

"About to alter an event of my History." His voice was cold. "A rather significant one, at that."

The voice took a couple of heartbeats before answering. "What, then, will you do?" She asked. "Most gods believed it was nothing but coincidence the last time Prometheus changed that timeline. What if he can do so in every dungeon and every other event he comes across?"

"Biona’s rotten heart!" the Alchemist cursed. "Then the second coming of that bastard Hero will be upon us." He took a sharp breath. "Which is to say, a period of chaos, death, and wars between gods and between gods and mortals. History will repeat itself again, and Biona knows that nothing but nightmares will erupt from it."

He paused, then sighed wearily. "I should have known. No, we should have known this was going to happen the moment a Godkiller was born."

"That woman..." the voice strained. "I have heard she killed another one, once again." The voice shook. "What Pathway did that monster birth?"

"I wish I knew," Forbidden said. "And the strange, worrying part of all this is the relationship between the Godkiller and Prometheus."

"What?" The voice exclaimed in shock. "They know each other? How?"

Forbidden closed his eyes.

"Damn yes. They know each other."

"The Godkiller is the grandmother of Prometheus, after all."
