Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power

Chapter 491: Hellish Sight

Chapter 491: Chapter 491: Hellish Sight

Chapter 491 – Hellish Sight

Dain’s battleaxe burst through one of Lumy’s clones with a horizontal slash — flames trailing behind the blade, burning the air — a spray of blood and organs and severed limbs whirling around him like a grim whirlwind, as if the clone had been a real being.

He didn’t care. He pressed forward through the gory sight, flaming eyes fixed on the real Lumy, who stood poised with her long sharp nails coated in strange light.

Without waiting for him to close the distance, she kicked the throne in front of her with hammering force, shattering it into a rain of flowers that transformed into blades and flew at Dain.

He blocked it easily, melting them into molten steel in barely a second.

But a second was more than enough. Lumy was already closing in, attacking his blind spot. Ten arc-like slashes erupted from her claws and shot straight toward him.

The attack was sharp and lethal — the Severing Innate Ability of the House of Gold, so refined that the air itself was visibly torn, ripped like sheets of paper.

Dain’s instincts flared. He stepped backward and threw up a wall of fire in front of him.

But neither worked. The clone he had destroyed came partially back to life — an abomination that smeared its blood and intestines beneath his feet, killing his footing, and wrapped its armless body around his waist.

“Huh?” Dain’s eyes went wide.

The arms were already burning, but the attack would land before they turned to ash. His mind flashed and he released Ragnar.

The Origin Weapon vanished and reappeared overhead, swirling upon itself so fast it became nothing but a blur of golden light.

Lumy spared it an uneasy glance, but pressed forward with another clone closing in from each side around the immobilised Dain.

The slashes were an inch from him. The Heir of War stretched his mouth wide open. A roar of fire erupted from the depths of his throat, burning through more than half the slashes and incinerating the hands holding him.

Three remained. He ducked just in time to avoid them — and ate a ferocious kick to his left flank from a clone. His bones rattled. He staggered, but gritted his teeth and caught the clone’s leg before it was pulled back.

The clone yelped.

Dain swirled and hurled it toward Lumy closing in on his right, using golden fire to amplify the speed and embed a runic ticking bomb inside it; one that detonated at the slightest contact.

Lumy smiled mockingly and clicked her fingers, dismissing the clone entirely.

“Don’t smile too soon.” Dain growled, golden smoke steaming from his mouth.

He stomped one throbbing step into the ground, tore through the space between them, leaving his afterimage behind, and closed in on Lumy with jaw clenched tight, bearing her Severing Slashes head on.

He raised his right hand and swung down. Lumy’s heart skipped; because Ragnar, its velocity and force so enormous that space wheezed and turned to sea-fire around it, appeared perfectly in his master’s hand mid-motion.

The Golden Fox bellowed, Severing aura surging outward, sidestepped left with her shoulder hunched backward and summoned the flaming clone from earlier as a barrier.

The battleaxe landed on the clone and cleaved through it like a hot knife through butter before slamming into Lumy with soul-wrenching intensity.

She shrieked as her left shoulder was severed instantly, and shrieked again when the runic fire in the clone detonated at the point of contact.

A mushroom of smoke, laced with golden fire and threads of blood, erupted. Both Dain and Lumy were hurled from the explosion, their bodies torn by the blast and each other’s attacks.

Dain’s back cracked against the wall. He coughed; blood, spit, and fragments of destroyed organs spilling from his mouth.

He snapped his eyes open instantly, taking in his own state. His body was burned, cut in multiple places. His face, he knew, was nothing but a map of slashes that could give grown men nightmares.

He clenched his teeth and got back up. Ragnar appeared in his hand.

‘Dain, are you alright?’ Ragnar’s voice reached him through his mind. It earned only a grunt from Dain.

‘You need to be quick, Dain!’ Griffin’s worried voice came next. Dain cocked his head up and saw the beast, wounded across his body, still spitting fire and tearing through members of the House of Gold.

‘More are coming! And the other Houses will be aware soon enough. Finish it!’ The beast said, then turned back to his own battle.

Dain read the situation immediately. His eyes narrowed across the room.

Lumy was staggering back to her feet, her face rotten with wrath and pain. Her left arm was completely severed, golden fire still burning at the stump, preventing it from healing.

“You want to play like this?” She growled, and clicked the fingers of her remaining right hand.

Dozens of clones appeared throughout the room, surrounding Dain on every side,

Lumy smiled with madness in her eyes. And Dain understood at last what she intended.

“Ragnar, use my Master Skill!” He bellowed, already activating his Intermediate rank Skill simultaneously.

Every clone detonated into Severing Slashes, attacking from all directions — left, right, above and below — creating a cyclone of slashes converging on him from every angle.

Dain Warborn was completely surrounded.

Ragnar activated the Master Skill, the weapon expanding exponentially and planting itself to the left like a wall. A wall of fire erupted from it, encasing him protectively.

But the first wave of slashes shredded through it instantly, leaving the Heir of War completely exposed.

It wasn’t enough, he knew it, it was already too late anyway.

Still, his Intermediate rank activated and a pit of hissing golden lava opened beneath him.

He plunged inside with a scream as dozens of slashes landed on his right hand — it was cut clean, blood erupting and burning instantly in the fire around him.

Ragnar vanished next and the remaining slashes tore through the now-empty spot.

Lumy gritted her teeth in fury and swept her eyes through the hellish wreckage, searching.

“I’m right here.” Dain’s voice came from behind like a growl. He burst out of a pit of lava.

Lumy whirled, and his left hand shot out and clasped her entire face. Her eyes flew wide. The heat of his palm burned her skin off completely.

Fear surged through her in waves as Dain’s twin flaming eyes bore down on her like something that had clawed its way out of hell.

The Golden Fox didn’t fold. She couldn’t. She seized his arm with her remaining right hand, preparing to sacrifice it in one final explosion of Severing Slashes.

Dain didn’t allow it. His hand became bubbling fire as he yanked her head toward him, burning it in the process. She screamed, the pain breaking her focus entirely.

He jumped, reaching the sky in an instant, just as Griffin swept beneath him and caught both Dain and the burning Lumy on his back.

“Where, Dain?!” Griffin shouted.

“Anywhere but Waverith for now.” Dain growled, blood dripping, face pale, right arm a bleeding stump as he drove Lumy’s head down against Griffin’s back. “Fly. Fast.”

“I know!”

The Golden Beast roared and tore through the ceiling, then the sky itself, before vanishing into the horizon, leaving behind the furious shouts of the House of Gold echoing in the burning throne room below.
