Later, He Became A Royal Healer

Chapter 119 - Making waves hei.

This chapter is brought to you by Ilse and another anon! Thank you for the Ko-Fis!

Piaoluo froze because it was impossible to construct a response to that line of conversation. He stopped his expression from cracking and he did not utter a single word as the screen was flooded with a barrage of comments in an instant.

【What do you mean by ‘your wife is going to bring you to kill’??? Are you really intending to throw away the little face you have as an anchor pfft hahahaha!!!】

Ao ao ao ao, I didn’t want to say this but, KK, you really need to pull yourself together and break out of the matriarchy. (Gazing at a Coward)】

【Can you stop being so sweet!! As an anchor, please purify this game called King’s Glory!!】

【Not only is he not purifying, he is even using his stinky and shameless personality to permeate a sour stench in the entirety of King’s Canyon.】

【Honestly, I’ve never heard people bad mouth the way KK does before……】

There were Piaoluo fans in the comments as well and they were displeased.

【Bullying Piaoluo just because he has a good temper, does this person have no limits, his rampant attitude knows no bounds!】

【So annoying, end this as soon as possible please.】

【Previously, I didn’t feel much for KK, but now that I’ve seen his broadcast, I’ve turned black. How does Piaoluo even tolerate you, so hateful.】

【Hehehe, sitting and waiting for KK’s withdrawal from the competition.】

The comments accompanying the broadcast became increasingly divided and the gifts given to both sides continued to rise. However, as the quantity grew, the developments evidently favoured Kang Shengzhe as his lead became clearer. Ten minutes into the broadcast, the fans in KK’s live broadcasting room had gone from having equal shares to occupying the main stage.

Since Kang Shengzhe made the proclamation, he and You Liangxing set off for the bottom lane as a pair. The game had entered the middle stages and the difference in kill scores was negligible. Right now, apart from Howling Wolf who had been suppressed until he was in the bottom rungs of the game, everyone had a sense of existence and the economic situation of the fans were about the same.

Before his hero arrived, Kang Shengzhe made a joke first. “Piaoluo, are you nervous right now?”

Soon after, Piaoluo replied and his voice had a tinge of laughter as he said: “Now that you’re asking, I certainly feel a smidgen.”

In accordance to normal circumstances, Kang Shengzhe had always preferred to adopt a playstyle where he took people by a storm, and when he was playing King Lanling, he had a particular fondness for relying on his skill to attach himself to his victims and kill them. And now that he had a decently skilled healer by side, Piaoluo assumed that he would choose to resist the tower and show off his skills.

Sure enough, he hadn’t been in the bottom lane for long when Cai Wenji’s coordinates appeared on the mini map. While Kang Shengzhe’s King Lanling did not appear, he was definitely nearby.

Throughout the entire game, Kang Shengzhe had always stuck close to his personal auxiliary healer, and it was easy to guess that he was going to open with his ultimate to conceal his whereabouts and wait for his minions to enter Piaoluo’s tower range.

One second, two seconds, the two opposing minion waves met. Cai Wenji casted her healing aperture and entered the tower range. Piaoluo did not hesitate to turn around, lift his gun and shoot him. As he was pulling the distance away from Cai Wenji to remove himself from her attacking range, he threw a bomb in the position next to Cai Wenji.

While he tried to land a comprehensive hit on King Lanling, reality proved that there was no one there. Piaoluo tumbled away from the first tower, and just as he walked closer to the bushes between the first and second tower, King Lanling abruptly casted a dark mark on him before connecting it with a full suit of his skills, attack akin to a torrential rain of pear blossom needles, all of which landed on him.

The two fighters were distinguished into two roles; the healer would be the bait before they launched an attack from the front and rear simultaneously.

Piaoluo’s complexion stiffened and he rushed back to his first tower hastily. But King Lanling treated the tower like air, chasing after Sun Shangxiang with every intention to rob her of her life. Cai Wenji’s green and glowing area-of-effect enshrouded King Lanling’s person, carrying the responsibility of taking shots from the tower while insistently healing.

Despite seeing Piaoluo at the last shred of his health and incredibly close to death, a girly voice rang out: “Back away from the tower.”

His voice had just landed when red health signifying the enemy heroes appeared from the bushes that were behind Piaoluo and close to the wall. Piaoluo’s teammates had come to come to support him, and it was not only one but four!

No wonder why Piaoluo took the bait so easily, it turns out he had been waiting for this.

Kang Shengzhe showed no panic as he chuckled out loud, “Grouping so early?”

Piaoluo replied, “I have no choice, with KK making a proclamation, I can only call for backup.”

How was this just for self-preservation— it was evidently a case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind because he wanted to take advantage of his opponents’ reckless moves to break and annihilate King Lanling and Cai Wenji in one fell swoop.

Although they could chat freely, their hands were occupied. The five enemies had grouped together, and Kang Shengzhe and You Liangxing could only beat a retreat. Although Piaoluo’s health made him look enticing, his micromechanics were battle-tested and they were cuttingly nimble as a result, fully capable of keeping the appropriate distance. Hence, Kang Shengzhe could only give up on the kill and fall back rapidly under You Liangxing’s infusion of health and timely dizzy spells.

However, it was a five against two; retreat was impossible.

Prompt decisions had to be made at every given second and Kang Shengzhe did not hesitate in the slightest as he turned around to jump back into the pile of players as Cai Wenji continued to run forward.

In an instant, the prompt about Kang Shengzhe being slain rang out in the game. Concurrently, Howling Wolf’s death notification rang out in succession.

A life for a life; dragging down someone before he died, it was very much in line with KK’s character.

Howling Wolf’s seventh death in the entire game was once again taken by Kang Shengzhe which enraged him, causing him to slam his phone down right then and there.

Since Piaoluo had turned off his listening function, he did not know about the brief incident, nor did he care about Howling Wolf’s reaction. After offing Kang Shengzhe, he could conceal not his smiling expression as he said: “Suddenly, I don’t feel nervous anymore.”

He might have laid down a proclamation that he wanted to murder but in at the turn of the head, he had been slaughtered and taunted by Piaoluo. But Kang Shengzhe did not blush, in fact, he was not even worried about the possibility of having to withdraw from the match just because he had fallen in this wave.

His attitude – steady like an old dog – had Piaoluo’s hackles rising.

Thought in mind, Piaoluo glanced at the mini map. The three fans on Kang Shengzhe’s side were already drawing close, attempting a response to the previous attack with Cai Wenji.

Speaking of which, why did Kang Shengzhe decide to cover a retreat instead of letting Cai Wenji do it? To leave healer with no output alive— wasn’t that putting the cart before the horse?

Rather than thinking too much, he might as well act, thus Piaoluo converged with his four teammates. Cai Wenji might be able to cause deacceleration effects apart from healing but in the face of his teammates’ assault, her health was still drained and she fell to the ground, dead.

Piaoluo finally put his heart down.

And when he turned his eyes to the remaining three fans, it was like he was looking at a breath of fresh air. If he could push them down in this wave, he would win.

The live broadcasting room was rapid in their commenting, KK’s side was filled of shock:

【Yi yi yi yi!!!! They got double killed…】

【Shit!!!】

【Everyone don’t panic!! Look at KK’s dog attitude, it’s okay, it’s alright!!】

【Yeah, but KK, how can you be so calm as you watch your wife being murdered!! Say something!!】

Meanwhile, Piaoluo’s fans were over the moon:

【Hehe, I love to see and hear this.】

【We’ve won~ A rampant new anchor just had their face slapped.】

【It’s fine even if they don’t manage to win from this wave, playing slow and steady is pretty good too, to save KK from constantly bragging bull.】

At that moment, there were three people fighting four when the falling Cai Wenji was accompanied by the sound effect for a resurrection. And because the low-health Piaoluo was too close, he was taken by surprise, and he was killed off with a single note from Cai Wenji because he did not have the chance to dodge.

A healer had unexpectedly changed her item in a second!

No one had expected that a healer would have this sort of hand speed; Piaoluo’s expression contorted and he changed his item to a resurrection armour in a second as well while simultaneously observing the sudden situation where the item had emerged. Sure enough, two seconds after KK had died, Cai Wenji had pulled out the final vest.

Time stood still in that instant as Sun Shangxiang revived from where she fell. But in the short duration that took him to resurrect, Cai Wenji had opened all her abilities and encased the three fans in her team. The previous situation of three against four became a four against three. One of his fans had died instantaneously while the remaining two were at half health. In the later stages, Cai Wenji was an exceptional healer. Piaoluo lifted his gun and tumbled forward and relied on his movements and positioning to secure a kill. While that was happening, his own health had dropped to severe straits, returning back to the state where it would require little to end him.

“Retreat first.”

The counterattack had happened in an instant and sighing was of no use. He could only continue to fight a battle of wits with Kang Shengzhe. As Piaoluo was backing away, a figure chased up to him from behind.

It was Cai Wenji.

The healer, daring to chase a live broadcasted marksman, could be considered a marvellous spectacle. Piaoluo used his first ability to tumble into the bushes as he discharged a ruthless ballista at Cai Wenji.

It would have been a prelude to a counter killing had the attack succeeded, but Cai Wenji halted her steps, barely avoiding the flying ballista. With how they were positioned, if he did not start running, escaping would no longer be an option. Piaoluo tumbled again and pulled away in the opposite direction, and his actions evidently had the taste of fleeing after being defeated.

While Piaoluo managed to run away, the same could not be said for his remaining two fans. Without further delay, Cai Wenji turned around and it made it seem like she never had the intention to kill Piaoluo to begin with. Instead, she merely wanted to stall him temporarily.

You Liangxing changed his direction and coordinated with his team to surround and devour. The avatars of the heroes on Piaoluo’s side immediately greyed out, leaving Piaoluo as the only bright portrait.

Piaoluo’s side was almost completely eviscerated.

In the span of a few seconds, two reversals occurred, causing a wave of cries in the live broadcasting room.

【WTF… Sister Liang is too awesome!!】

【Why can’t I play healers like this?】

【Honestly speaking, people who have the hand speed to trigger their items in a second have never been ordinary.】

【I admire it, I truly do…】

【It’s actually possible for healers set the tempo!!!】

Kang Shengzhe laughed: “Liang Liang is really powerful~~~ mwah~”

His wilfulness in one sentence earned him a ruthless, eye gouging glare from You Liangxing.

The live broadcasting room started jeering rowdily.

【How dare you have the audacity to speak, if it weren’t for you dying early, why would Sister Liang have to work so hard!!!】

【KK ah, can you please have some heart?】

Kang Shengzhe said: “Fine, I’ll stop messing around and play seriously.”

His words insinuated that he was merely playing around just now, and he was only getting serious now. As Kang Shengzhe was striding out of the fountain, You Liangxing had already brought their teammates to attack the enemy’s second inner tower. The opposing side’s fans had respawned only to die again, while KK’s fans had died as well. The minion lines inched closer to the entrance of Piaoluo’s crystal nexus and Howling Wolf and Piaoluo were there to answer.

Two against two, the deciding battle was approaching.

Kang Shengzhe’s smile withdrew. “Push.”

You Liangxing said: “En.”

Piaoluo’s expression had turned serious early on. With how things had been developing and with the knife of having to withdraw from the competition pressing against his neck due to the bet, he could not lose this match no matter what.

As the minion lines stepped onto the plate, King Lanling immediately dashed up and Howling Wolf went up to greet him first and engaged in a solo with him directly because Diao Chen’s ultimate could only be casted on one enemy during a decisive fight. And since Howling Wolf sent himself to the door, Kang Shengzhe cut him down without any mercy.

Howling Wolf was not completely useless; although he was incomparably crippled in this match, he could only grit his teeth and become a shield and force Kang Shengzhe into using his own ultimate ability.

And as Howling Wolf died, Piaoluo’s Sun Shangxiang seized the window of opportunity to PK Kang Shengzhe on his lonesome. The speed of the battle was extremely quick, and within seconds, the commentary could no longer keep up with them.

【Truly a fight between divine beings.】

【emmmmm, a PK that you can’t tear your eyes away from.】

【KKKKKKKK!!! Save your breath!! You can’t hit his face!!!】

【My Piaoluo ah…】

As the barrage continued, the sequelae of King Lanling’s ultimate losing its invisibility effect appeared. Having to fight two alone never felt good, but Piaoluo knew that as long as he took down King Lanling, his teammates could stop Cai Wenji once they respawned. If that was the case, the game could still continue.

Every second and minute had to be seized with prompt decisions; predicting Kang Shengzhe’s movements, Piaoluo withstood his assaults, figure moving and bullets shooting across the screen.

He could not win him but trading a life for a life, ending the fight with mutual destruction was something he could accomplish.

Piaoluo let loose his last attack before he fell to the ground, dejected. Simultaneously, one out of two of his opponents knelt to the ground, avatar going grey.

However, in that instant, Piaoluo’s pupils shrank and he went stock still.

Because the person who died was not King Lanling…

But Cai Wenji.

At the last juncture, that Cai Wenji actually took the shot in Kang Shengzhe’s stead!!

The air was quiet. Kang Shengzhe did not speak. Rather, it was the girly voice belonging to that Cai Wenji who stated: “Hello there, surprise.”

Piaoluo: “……”

Piaoluo’s teammates had already revived in the fountain but none of them were Kang Shengzhe’s opponent. A few seconds later, King Lanling brought his minion troops to shatter the crystal nexus while the live broadcasting blotted out the skies and the earth with comments.

【AHHHHHHHH SISTER LIANG!! Are you so happy you had to be a little cheeky!!!】

【Impossible!!! My Sister Liang is not allowed to be this cute!!!】

【Oh my freaking god!! Nowadays, healers are not only responsible for healing, they have to carry the tempo and fucking die in people’s stead!!】

【Sister Liang: You thought I was Cai Wenji, but no, I’m actually, ‘Dying in your stead’ Ji.】

【You guys might see an aria, but I see the love!! If!! This!! Is!! Not Considered!! Love! I don’t know what is!!!】

With a blush on his face, Kang Shengzhe covered his heart and said coyly: “Liang Liang~ making waves hei.”
