Chapter 2501: Chapter 2510: It’s Obvious There’s No Hope
Old Master Lawrence’s morning schedule included playing some golf with the Chairman of EZ, and discussing business along the way.
It’s unclear whether Wendy Hanson was still upset about the embarrassment she suffered before, but during the golf game, she was determined to beat Enna Clark.
However, Enna Clark was in good form today, playing with great skill. Every so often, she would manage a hole-in-one, leaving Wendy Hanson with a mix of emotions on her face—both pure and translucent—quite a spectacle.
Old Master Lawrence was a keen observer and could tell from the first glance that Wendy Hanson and Enna Clark had some conflict. He also noticed how Wendy Hanson competes subtly with Enna Clark, but since Enna was clearly winning, he didn’t interfere.
Mr. Hanson also noticed his granddaughter trying desperately to outperform, and after observing Old Master Lawrence’s reaction, he sighed helplessly and called out, "Wendy, come here."
Enna Clark scored another hole-in-one, while Wendy Hanson played with a serious expression, sweat covering her forehead. Beside her, Audrey Hartwell couldn’t control her expression, glaring resentfully at Enna Clark with gritted teeth.
Damn it, wasn’t this woman supposed to be an illegitimate daughter from a small place? How could she play this aristocratic sport so well?
Wendy Hanson was equally unwilling to accept defeat, but she realized Enna Clark’s skills were indeed much better. With Mr. Hanson calling her, she sighed, handed her golf club to the caddy beside her, removed her glove, and walked over gracefully, flashing a radiant smile at the old man, "Grandpa, why are you calling me now? I haven’t finished my last shot."
Mr. Hanson patted the hand she had wrapped around his arm, his eyes filled with affection, "You’ve been abroad for so long, and I finally found time to have you accompany me, yet you went off to play golf. Ah, young people, they never stay put."
"Grandpa, no way." Wendy Hanson stomped her foot, "Wasn’t it you who asked me to spar with Ms. Clark? How did it turn into me leaving you to have fun? Of course, I wanted to stay with Grandpa, but I’m afraid you’ll find me annoying."
Mr. Hanson was very fond of his outstanding granddaughter. Not only is she beautiful and accomplished in various aspects, but she’s also considerate. Wendy Hanson acted cute while holding him, making him laugh heartily. After a while, he raised his head apologetically toward Old Master Lawrence, who was sitting nearby resting, and said, "Brother Tingting, sorry for the fuss. My little girl is so grown up yet still loves to act cute."
"Ms. Hanson is still young, it’s normal to be playful." Old Master Lawrence didn’t show any extra emotion and turned to Enna Clark beside him, "Are you tired?"
Enna Clark shook her head.
Old Master Lawrence gave the housekeeper a subtle look, and soon the housekeeper handed Enna Clark a clean towel and some water.
"Thank you." Enna Clark wiped the sweat from her neck and took the water cup, gulping down more than half, finally feeling less hot.
Seeing this scene, Mr. Hanson knew there was no hope, and dismissed the idea of introducing his granddaughter properly to Old Master Lawrence. He roughly stood up, extended his hand, "Brother Tingting, it’s getting late, I should head back to the company. Pleasure doing business with you."
Old Master Lawrence stood up and shook his hand, "Pleasure doing business."
Mr. Hanson smiled and, after releasing his hand, turned to the absent-minded Wendy Hanson, "Wendy, let’s go back to the company. I have more to discuss with you."
