Chapter 3081 - 3090: Searching High and Low for Someone

Chapter 3081: Chapter 3090: Searching High and Low for Someone

Ms. Stephen had been impatient from the start about going up to the second floor with her. She had expressed at the door that she didn’t want to come in, and Leah Rivers forcibly dragging her in had already annoyed her. When she saw Leah excitedly pulling her further in, completely ignoring her will, that irritation peaked.

When Leah dragged her to the bedroom door, she suddenly flung Leah’s hand away and shouted angrily, "Leah, are you crazy? I already said I don’t want to see your jewelry, why are you dragging me?"

Even though Leah’s hand was flung away, she wasn’t angry. She couldn’t wait to twist the door handle and pushed the door open—

The door banged open with a loud noise.

It startled the person behind her.

Indeed, there was someone inside, but it wasn’t the scene she expected.

President Stephen was properly dressed in his clothes and pants, frowning while making a phone call. Her sudden intrusion startled the person inside, and when he turned to see them, he paused upon seeing his daughter, "Honey, what are you doing here?"

Ms. Stephen was equally shocked to see the person inside, exclaiming, "Daddy?"

Leah Rivers didn’t witness Olivia Lewis in a humiliating scene on the bed; she widened her eyes in disbelief and uttered, "Impossible."

Then, disregarding Stephen and his daughter’s gaze, she rushed into the room, pulling open curtains and searching through the wardrobe.

Her rummaging actions were too obvious.

Clearly, President Stephen’s face was growing darker. He looked at his daughter standing in shock at the door, suddenly realizing something. With a stern face and a gloomy look, he asked her in Country W’s language, "What are you searching for? A person?"

Leah searched everywhere but couldn’t find anyone, still wearing disbelief on her face. Facing Stephen’s obvious angry interrogation, she opened her mouth, forcing a sheepish smile, "No... I was looking for diamonds."

Stephen was a man in his sixties, with blond hair and blue eyes, looking even more sharp-edged due to his pronounced features as he aged. He mercilessly exposed Leah’s lie, sarcastically saying, "Oh, I didn’t know when the diamonds in Country W became so big that they need to be placed behind curtains and in wardrobes. Someone who doesn’t know might think you’re searching for a person."

Ms. Stephen noticed something was wrong, her face darkening as she asked, "Dad, what’s really going on?"

Despite his womanizing ways, President Stephen was extremely doting on his son and daughter. Once his daughter asked, his expression immediately softened, "Honey, you first tell me why you’re here?"

"She brought me here. Said she wanted to show me jewelry. I said I didn’t want to look, but she insisted on dragging me in. I hadn’t even gotten to figure out what was going on when I saw you, Dad."

As Ms. Stephen finished speaking, the man’s gaze became even darker, his look at Leah so intense it seemed like it could drip water.

Leah’s heartbeat was racing; she knew she had acted too hastily just now. Caught in a dilemma, she could only find Olivia Lewis to get out of this predicament.

She bit her lip, turned around without saying a word and ran elsewhere, muttering as she went, "It’s weird, why are my diamonds missing? I clearly remember putting them here. I need to find my diamonds first."

Her actions were too abrupt, further leading people to question her motives.

The few people who came in with her gathered at the entrance hall, whispering among themselves...
