Chapter 3155 - 3244: Visiting the Injured
Chapter 3155: Chapter 3244: Visiting the Injured
It wasn’t that she didn’t care about Jeremy Payne, it’s just that too much had happened and she honestly forgot about the whole thing.
Good thing Jeremy wasn’t here. If he were and heard Lydia Bell only react half a beat late before remembering he existed, his heart would’ve shattered.
Damn, he’d pulled off such a handsome hero-saves-the-beauty move, and somehow all the spotlight got snatched away by Olivia Lewis. Heartbroken, absolutely heartbroken!
The Director had no idea what went down last night, just thought Jeremy caught a cold and took leave. Smiling, he said, "Jeremy’s fine, just a little cold."
Olivia knew what really happened. She rested a hand on Lydia’s shoulder and whispered, "Don’t worry about that kid, he’s thick-skinned and tough, not that easy to knock down. Once we wrap, I’m going over to his place to check on him. Wanna come along?"
Lydia frowned slightly. Go visit that Senior?
"I’ll go with Sister Olivia."
...
Five hours later, they wrapped all of today’s scenes perfectly.
Lydia’s performance was exceptionally good.
Especially that scene where she’s holding back tears and refuses to let them fall—she nailed it, absolutely brilliant, earning thunderous applause from the Director and the crew.
Originally Olivia was worried her mood would be affected, but seeing her adjust so quickly and throw herself into filming, Olivia appreciated her potential even more.
There was someone else who appreciated Lydia just as much: Sunny, who had been standing by keeping them company on set.
She noticed that her big Manager, more than once, had a look of appreciation in his eyes when he watched Lydia. She quietly curled her lips into a smile, pretending she’d seen nothing.
After the last scene and the Director shouted "cut," Sunny handed each of them a towel and a bottle of mineral water. "Good work, have some water."
"Mm."
"Thanks, Sister Sunny."
Lydia took the towel and wiped the sweat off her forehead, then without putting on airs, twisted open the bottle and tilted her head back for a big gulp. After a sip, she said to Olivia, "I’m going to go change. Sister Olivia, wait here for me a bit, I’ll be out soon."
"OK, go on." Olivia lifted the mineral water bottle in her hand, her smile bright.
They’d finished the whole thing in one take with no retakes, and wrapped two hours earlier than she’d predicted. She was in an especially good mood.
Lydia dashed off toward the dressing room.
"Here, your phone." Sunny handed her the phone and asked curiously, "Where are you and Lydia heading after this?"
Olivia turned on her phone, and as soon as it booted up, a certain someone’s message came flying in. She tapped it open—just an ordinary line of text, but warm: "Still filming? Want to grab dinner tonight?"
Her lips lifted, and her fingers quickly tapped out a reply before she put her phone away. She looked up and answered Sunny, "We’re going to see Jeremy. Didn’t he get hurt yesterday? Last time they all came to the Hospital to see me, if I don’t go visit him, it’d feel wrong. Oh, right, Sister Sunny, help me prep some fruit and a bouquet, yeah?"
It’d be really bad form to go visit a patient empty-handed. Way too insincere...
"That’s no big deal. We can just have the driver stop by somewhere on the way and buy some. I’m more worried about you going to see him at this hour. I’m afraid you’ll get snapped..." What Sunny worried about most, as a Manager, was exactly that—rumors and Paparazzi!
Time Knows was Olivia’s comeback project, and in her plan, this movie was aimed squarely at the ’serious acting’ route.
If a romance scandal between the male and female protagonists breaks out now, audiences will inevitably think of that previous statement incident and it’ll hurt Olivia’s public favor.
Public favor sounds vague and intangible, but in this industry, people take it seriously. A lot of big brands, when choosing spokespersons, will prioritize Stars with good public image.
