Chapter 3164: Chapter 3253: Unlocked the Entertainment Industry Instance Mode
"Apologize for what? This has nothing to do with you!" Sunny’s face changed in anger, but they couldn’t face the media until things were clear.
These media outlets are like cats scenting fish; what they might want isn’t the truth, but just the truth they want to see.
So until there’s concrete evidence, Olivia absolutely cannot accept any interviews.
Every word she says now could be magnified infinitely by the media. Her explanation could easily be turned into an excuse or an admission by them.
Many public figures have been criticized this way.
Public opinion is easily swayed by press releases; what was false can end up being seen as true.
"They don’t understand the truth. You clearly gave the money to the middleman. Who knew that person would use it to buy press releases? You’ve been kept in the dark from start to finish. Why should you be cornered to explain anything? They should be looking for the real culprit!" Sunny was furious.
Olivia was much calmer and comforted her, "Okay, don’t be angry. There’s no use getting upset now. The media is after sensational points. Me faking donations is more buzzworthy than a regular person doing it. That’s enough for them; they don’t care who actually did it. What’s most important now is finding evidence. Getting anxious isn’t helpful."
Sunny said, "I know, but it’s hard not to get angry. By the way, wasn’t your place supposed to be unknown? How did the reporters find it?"
Olivia rubbed her temples and closed her eyes, "Do you really think they don’t know where I live? The reason they haven’t come before is because they knew Adam and I live together. Now that there’s so much juicy stuff on me, even if they fear Adam, they still want to dig dirt from me."
Just as she was speaking, suddenly her phone rang. Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.
She picked up the phone and put it to her ear, "Hello."
"Where are you? I’ll send someone to pick you up."
Olivia glanced at the driver and Sunny, "I don’t even know where I am. Where are you? I’ll come find you."
"No, don’t move around now. Have Sunny drop you at a safe place, and I’ll send someone to get you." Adam’s voice was steady.
Olivia sensed something, a touch of warmth in her eyes, "Were those bodyguards yours earlier?"
"Sorry, I was a bit late. I wanted to call you to warn you that there might be reporters lurking at the apartment. But by the time I got the secretary’s notification, things had already escalated, so I sent people directly. Are you okay?"
"Alive and kicking!"
Adam’s voice relaxed, "I’ll wait for you to come over. Don’t worry, no matter how big the issue, I’ll find a way to help you resolve it."
"Haha, having a powerful supporter feels great. It’s like I’ve activated an entertainment industry special mode."
Others are fighting hard to level up; she doesn’t need to—she’s got the glitch.
Adam knowing she still had the mood to joke realized she really wasn’t affected as much as she said, and he felt much more at ease, "As long as you’re willing, it’s my honor. I’ll be waiting."
"..." Wow, too charming!
So charming she almost couldn’t resist, "Okay, I’ll have Sister Sunny drop me off, and I’ll contact you later."
"Be careful."
Olivia quickly hung up the call, afraid she’d be so charmed she’d be paralyzed.
