Chapter 1063 555: First Encounter with Wushuang Taoist (Part 2)
After Bai Yu finished speaking, tears welled up in Luochuan's eyes.
He clenched his fists tightly and choked out, "What I want to do most in this life is to avenge my mother, and now I have finally set foot on this path!"
Seeing his bloodshot eyes, Bai Yu stepped forward and patted his shoulder.
"Luochuan, if you were to kill him with your own hands, could you do it?"
"Why couldn't I? He gave me life but didn't raise me, dishonored my mother but didn't marry her, and in the end, cruelly killed my mother for a prostitute. If it weren't for my luck, do you think I could have escaped from his grasp? How can such a man deserve to live in this world?"
Observing the veins throbbing on his neck, Gu Sheng stepped up and patted his shoulder.
"Don't get too agitated. If your father really colluded with Saint Ya to harm Wushuang Taoist, we will take action."
"Brother Sheng, if, I mean if..."
Luochuan struggled to get out these words and then let out a heavy sigh.
"Forget it, let's pretend I didn't say anything."
Gu Sheng understood what he meant, but he didn't respond. Instead, he said to Hong Mei, "Carefully check around to see if there are any clues left by Wushuang Taoist."
Snapping back to reality, Hong Mei quickly went to investigate.
As everyone searched the area, Gu Sheng returned to that cage.
He carefully sensed the aura of Wushuang Taoist and let his fingers slowly trace down the chains.
When he unexpectedly encountered a groove, his eyes brightened slightly.
He repeatedly felt along it with his fingertips, then loudly asked Hong Mei, "What is Yunhai?"
Surprised by his question, Hong Mei was taken aback.
"Gu Sheng, you know about Yunhai?"
"No, I was just asking what this place is."
After looking at them, Hong Mei bit her lip and said, "Yunhai is the territory of our Mirror Gate. To be precise, Wushuang Taoist founded the Mirror Gate there single-handedly. We grew up there under her until we were able to stand on our own and leave."
"How long have you not been to Yunhai?"
"Many years. Ever since Wushuang Taoist vanished, none of us dared to go back, fearing that the sight would bring up old emotions. After all, she raised us single-handedly; in our eyes, she's scarcely different from our mother, so everyone consciously avoids the place."
"You cannot avoid it any longer; you all should take a trip there."
Hearing this, Hong Mei was a little puzzled.
"Aren't we supposed to look for Wushuang Taoist? Why return to Yunhai? Are you not going to help me look anymore?"
"It's not that I don't want to help you look, but Wushuang Taoist wants you to go back once; we will accompany you back."
After speaking, Gu Sheng clapped his hands and called her over, taking her hand to gently feel the groove.
After carefully sensing it, tears rolled down Hong Mei's cheeks.
"These symbols must have been left by Wushuang Taoist! They must be!"
"If you are certain, we will head to Yunhai now."
"Certain! I'm very certain! We'll leave now!"
Before finishing her words, Hong Mei hurriedly walked outside.
Gu Sheng let out a light sigh and led the group after her.
Lan Yao, curious, approached Gu Sheng and asked, "If Wushuang Taoist asked her to return to Mirror Gate, does it mean she is safe?"
"Not necessarily; she was trapped there and left so much blood when she left, I doubt she is unharmed."
"Gu Sheng, Wushuang Taoist cannot die; if something happens to her, once Saint Ya emerges, the Jianghu will change drastically. She is more terrifying than any Evil Demon!"
Bai Yu stepped forward, speaking, and took hold of Gu Sheng.
"We must hurry to Yunhai and see if we can lend a hand to Wushuang Taoist."
The group suddenly quickened their pace, startling Hong Mei.
But at this moment, she was too preoccupied to overthink and quickly followed after them.
For an entire week, they traveled tirelessly on the road.
A week later, around dusk, their steps finally stopped.
Looking at the distance, tears filled Hong Mei's eyes with excitement.
"There lies Yunhai."
Following the direction of her finger, Gu Sheng began to understand why this place was called Yunhai.
The area was at a high altitude, sparsely populated, with mostly barren land along the way, but at the road's end stood a village-like place, firmly set under swirling mist, appearing as if it floated on a sea of clouds at first glance.
"Can you sense the aura of Wushuang Taoist?"
"I can't sense it. My Divine Power is unstable now and I cannot detect it; I want to see with my own eyes."
Seeing her slightly trembling body, Gu Sheng approached and held her arm.
"Don't be afraid, we'll go with you."
Turning to look at Gu Sheng, Hong Mei's eyes filled with gratitude.
"Alright, we'll go together."
The two held hands in this strange fashion and walked into Yunhai.
Entering the settlement, Hong Mei swiftly made her way towards a courtyard.
Gu Sheng followed closely by her side, they stopped in front of a bamboo gate.
Looking at the bamboo gate, tears flowed uncontrollably from Hong Mei's eyes.
Taking several deep breaths, she still dared not push open the door within reach.
"Gu Sheng, I'm scared..."
As she spoke, tears continued falling down in large drops, and her body kept trembling.
She was beautiful and alluring, her large eyes lively, but at this moment, she radiated a mournful beauty that tugged at one's heartstrings.
Involuntarily, Gu Sheng clutched her hand.
"Don't be afraid. Whether she's here or not, opening the door will reveal the truth."
"What if she's not here?"
"It's okay, even if Wushuang Taoist is not here, she would have left clues, otherwise, why would we have found that groove? Open it, I'll be with you."
Seeing their interlocked hands, a hint of courage finally rose within Hong Mei.
She guided Gu Sheng's hand to push open the door, her gaze anxiously looking inside.
Seeing no figure, clear disappointment filled her eyes.
Gu Sheng took her inside as they walked, searching as they went, but still couldn't sense Wushuang Taoist's presence.
Just when Hong Mei was feeling despondent, Gu Sheng's gaze fixated on a corner of the wall.
"Gu Sheng, let's leave."
Hong Mei tugged at his hand, preparing to leave, but Gu Sheng pulled her back.
"Are those herbs planted when you left?"
"Herbs?"
Following his gaze, Hong Mei was slightly taken aback.
"These herbs are in season, they must have grown naturally, right? There are others in different places."
"Those in other places grew naturally, but these definitely didn't."
After he spoke, Hong Mei became visibly excited.
"Gu Sheng, do you mean..."
"The herbs outside are growing chaotically, some are tall and some short, indicating natural growth, but the ones here are arranged neatly, uniform in size, indicating someone was tending to them. Whoever was taking care of these herbs probably needed them at the time."
"Are you saying my master really returned?"
"I believe so. She is likely inside, deliberately concealing her aura, which is why we couldn't sense it. If you want to know if she's inside, open that door and see."
Gu Sheng led her to the door, and then gently released her hand.
Turning to look at him, Hong Mei saw Gu Sheng's firm nod.
The moment she saw him nod, Hong Mei pushed the door open.
Behind the door, a person sat leisurely sipping tea at the table, though their demeanor was calm, their complexion was unmistakably pale.
When they glanced sideways, Hong Mei suddenly burst into tears and knelt down immediately.
"Disciple greets Master!"
"Disciple greets Master!"
All members of the Mirror Gate knelt down in unison, loudly echoing the phrase.
When Wushuang Taoist looked over, Gu Sheng and others also paid their respects.
Gracefully standing, she gently lifted Hong Mei into an embrace.
"Have you been scared during my disappearance?"
In her embrace, Hong Mei nodded vigorously.
"Scared, scared every day, terrified day and night."
"Afraid I was dead? Silly girl, I am not so easy to kill."
Wushuang Taoist gently patted her back, her eyes softly falling on Gu Sheng.
Her gaze swept over him up and down, and Gu Sheng stood straight under her scrutiny.
After a while, Wushuang Taoist finally broke into a slight smile.
