Chapter 741 - 394 Recasting the Cauldron_2
Chapter 741: Chapter 394 Recasting the Cauldron_2
Although these Water Demons look ferocious on the outside, their strength is nowhere near as powerful as his.
In terms of levels, they are utterly insignificant and not worth fearing at all.
Turning his head, he said to Ji Ziyue, "Watch me, Little Sister Ji."
After speaking, Gu Sheng cast a cold glare at the Water Demons and snarled, "Get lost if you don’t want to die!"
Gu Sheng’s voice was icy and resolute, like a chilling winter wind carrying a piercing coldness.
"Hahaha..."
The Water Demons, however, seemed unimpressed and erupted into mocking laughter.
Immediately after, one of them let out a deafening roar and lunged ferociously at Gu Sheng.
Gu Sheng’s movements were swift as lightning; his fist shot forward and struck the Water Demon square in the chest.
"Boom!"
A dull thud echoed through the air as the Water Demon was sent flying, like a kite with its string cut, crashing heavily into the lake.
Water splashed everywhere, mingled with blood that dissolved into the water before vanishing without a trace.
"Roar! Roar! Roar!"
The remaining Water Demons, enraged by the sight, let out furious roars and launched a frenzied attack.
Gu Sheng darted nimbly between their assaults.
Each strike, whether fist or palm, landed perfectly on their vital points.
In just a matter of moments, the air above the lake was filled with the agonized cries of the Water Demons.
In the chaos of the battle, a cunning Water Demon quietly slipped away from the fray.
Its shadow dove swiftly into the lake and disappeared without a trace.
Gu Sheng made no attempt to pursue it, knowing that fighting the Water Demon underwater would be unwise.
He turned and saw Ji Ziyue hiding behind a tree, her eyes filled with admiration for him.
"It’s all right now. I’ve driven them off,"
Gu Sheng said gently to reassure her.
Ji Ziyue glanced at the Water Demon corpses floating on the lake’s surface but frowned deeply.
"Did one of them just get away?"
Ji Ziyue asked.
Gu Sheng nodded, "So what if one escaped? It’s no big deal."
Ji Ziyue anxiously scanned their surroundings, as if fearing the escaped Water Demon might return with reinforcements for revenge.
"No, we need to leave here immediately,"
Ji Ziyue said urgently, pointing at the lake. "That Water Demon might be rallying others. If they gang up on us, we won’t stand a chance."
Gu Sheng chuckled and waved dismissively, showing no concern.
"You worry too much. It’s just one Water Demon. Even if a whole group comes, what can they do to me?"
As he spoke, Gu Sheng swung his fist in front of him, flaunting his strength.
Ji Ziyue grew increasingly distressed at Gu Sheng’s blind confidence.
She tugged on his sleeve. "Please! Let’s leave now. Safety is more important."
"Fine, beg me,"
Gu Sheng teased with a smirk.
"Ugh..."
Ji Ziyue was speechless for a moment.
She glanced at the Water Demon corpses on the lake and then at Gu Sheng. After a moment of hesitating and biting her lip, she finally nodded and said, "Fine, I’ll beg you. Happy now?"
"Be more sincere,"
Gu Sheng said smugly.
Ji Ziyue adjusted her expression, pleading with Gu Sheng once more.
After much cajoling, Gu Sheng finally nodded begrudgingly.
"All right, all right. We’ll do as you say. Let’s leave now,"
Gu Sheng said with a grin as he turned to lead Ji Ziyue away from the unsettling lake.
"Splash!"
However, just as they were about to move, the lake’s surface suddenly erupted in massive waves.
A powerful force surged from beneath the lake, as though something was stirring the waters.
In an instant, a towering wave surged toward them like a wall.
Before Gu Sheng and Ji Ziyue could react, the immense wave knocked them off their feet.
The lake water quickly engulfed them, sweeping them into the depths of the lake.
Reacting swiftly, Gu Sheng grasped Ji Ziyue’s hand and pulled her up forcefully, dragging her out of the water.
The two of them resurfaced, gasping for fresh air.
Ji Ziyue’s face was pale as she shouted, "Quick! There’s definitely a monster in the lake!"
"Hold tight to me! Don’t let go!"
Gu Sheng commanded loudly.
Just as they steadied themselves and prepared to swim toward the shore, another massive wave rose from the lake.
This wave was far more powerful than the last. The water appeared to be under the control of a mighty creature, forming a massive whirlpool that sucked everything nearby into it.
Gu Sheng inhaled deeply, his True Qi circulating throughout his body as a tremendous force erupted from within him.
Exerting all his strength, he leapt to the side with Ji Ziyue, narrowly dodging the wave’s impact.
Their movements sent ripples through the lake, with waves crashing relentlessly against the shore.
"So, it’s just two little brats from the Human Clan!"
A mocking voice suddenly echoed from behind Gu Sheng and Ji Ziyue.
Gu Sheng’s heart sank. Turning around, he was stunned to see a burly Water Demon with disheveled hair standing on the lake’s surface, bare-chested.
When Ji Ziyue saw the formidable figure towering on the water, her face instantly paled in terror.
She immediately recognized the Water Demon’s identity—Wuzhiqi.
This was a being that dominated the underwater realm, a terrifying existence feared by countless aquatic creatures.
"Run! We have to run! That’s Wuzhiqi!"
Ji Ziyue screamed, her voice laced with fear.
Although Gu Sheng did not know about Wuzhiqi’s history, Ji Ziyue’s reaction made it clear the opponent was far from ordinary.
He nodded, preparing to flee with Ji Ziyue, but Wuzhiqi casually waved his hand, and a torrent of water imbued with immense power shot toward them.
"Whoosh!"
The water arrow sped toward them like lightning.
Gu Sheng and Ji Ziyue had no time to dodge and could only withstand the attack head-on.
The water struck them, halting their escape and pinning them in place.
"Damn it!"
Gu Sheng gritted his teeth, knowing they couldn’t afford to stay passive. He gathered all his True Qi and punched toward the torrent of water.
But compared to Wuzhiqi’s strength, his efforts were futile.
The torrent only paused briefly before continuing its assault.
"Pathetic,"
Wuzhiqi sneered; it was evident he didn’t take Gu Sheng’s resistance seriously.
Gu Sheng’s expression grew grim.
From that brief exchange, he could tell that Wuzhiqi’s power had reached the Four Extremes Secret Realm.
Meanwhile, he himself had only just entered the Dao Palace Realm. If he continued fighting head-on, he would only become Wuzhiqi’s plaything.
Realizing he was outmatched, Gu Sheng plotted their escape.
Wuzhiqi’s sharp eyes seemed to read his thoughts.
Seeing through Gu Sheng’s intent, a cunning smirk appeared on Wuzhiqi’s face.
With a sudden burst of force, an invisible energy surged from Wuzhiqi’s body.
"Whoosh!"
Gu Sheng and Ji Ziyue immediately felt their bodies pulled by an overpowering force.
Before Gu Sheng could resist, both he and Ji Ziyue were sucked into a mysterious Illusion Realm.
Within the Illusion Realm, everything was chaotic.
There seemed to be no sky or ground, only endless fog and distorted spaces.
"What... is this..."
Ji Ziyue felt disoriented but quickly adjusted her composure.
"This is bad! This is Wuzhiqi’s Illusion Realm! He wants to refine us, to use us to strengthen himself!"
Ji Ziyue exclaimed anxiously.
Gu Sheng clenched his fists, his eyes flashing with regret.
If only he had listened to Ji Ziyue earlier, they wouldn’t have fallen into this situation.
But now wasn’t the time for regrets.
If they didn’t find a way to escape the Illusion Realm, both of them would become sacrifices to Wuzhiqi’s power.
"Do you have any way to break this Illusion Realm?"
Gu Sheng asked gravely, his face filled with concern.
"I’ll try!"
Ji Ziyue replied, closing her eyes to sense the Illusion Realm’s structure.
"Hmm."
Gu Sheng knew the Ji family had deep expertise in Arrays and Illusion Techniques—perhaps she could find a glimmer of hope.
