We were victorious and Lord Cyth had fled—was the summary of Andy's battle progress report that I listened to while reclining on a bed.
Apparently, Lord Cyth had a beautiful woman at his side when he escaped.
I closed my eyes and could not help but feel sorry for the Snow Witch who wasted her life for such a man.
Andy concluded the report with words for me to rest well, then quietly walked out of the room.
It was already quite late.
I heard Anna walk inside, probably wanting to help me change into my night clothes to sleep, and I squirmed in discomfort.
I did not want her to touch me for the same reason as before. Even though Anna had watched me grow up and I was now blind, I still had my pride as a fully-grown man and was embarrassed at the thought. How could I let her dress me?
Suddenly, the sound of another person's footsteps came approaching.
I froze and listened carefully to figure out who it was. It didn't seem like it was my mother or my brother. But who else was there who could freely walk into my bedroom?
Then, a familiar voice—chilly yet warm like Anna's ice berry wine, said, "You can rest for now. I'll take care of Adam."
Anna no longer attempted to pry my clothes off, and obediently lowered her hands and left.
The owner of that voice walked to my side, before sitting down next to me and unbuttoning my clothes.
Bewildered yet almost afraid to affirm my guess, I grabbed his hand and whispered, "Fruu?"
"Mm," Fruys grunted. "It's me."
He explained, "I have pretty much recovered at this point, so I'm able to maintain a human form. However, I can't hold it for too long because I'm not completely healed yet."
Completely dazed from shock, I silently allowed him to change my night clothes. This was my first time ever hearing that dragons could transform into a human form.
The both of us were quiet, and soon Fruys finished changing my clothes. As he stood up and prepared to leave—
All the emotions that I had buried inside me for the entire day came bursting out.
Everything was pitch dark. I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't tell how big the world was around me, and it felt like I was the only person on earth.
Panic and anxiety gripped me, and I desperately reached out to grab Fruys. I lifted my head and opened my eyes fearfully, even though I couldn't see his face.
"Fruu, don't leave, stay with me a little," I pleaded.
For a while, Fruys did not reply, before he sat down on the side of the bed again.
I threw myself around his neck, fumbled around until I found my blanket, and tossed it over to him without saying anything.
I think Fruys must have understood my intent.
He hesitated once again, but then reached out a hand to tidy the pillow and sheets on my bed. Then he laid down and covered the two of us with the blanket.
"Sleep," he said. "I'm here."
"Mmh," I mumbled, and continued to cling to his neck, not letting go even when I drifted off into my dreams.
I thought to myself that there was at least one benefit about Fruys becoming human. His neck was thin now and easier to grab.

I woke up early the next day and reached out to the space next to me. Fruys was still sleeping in his human form.
When he awoke, he transformed back into a dragon, picked me up, and took me for a spin in the sky.
The rays of the sunlight and the wind were warm, and the birds were chirping as they greeted the morning.
As I roped my arms around Fruys's neck and pressed myself against his back, I rubbed my cheeks on his slightly cold scales and told him: "Fruu, God is fair. He might have taken away my eyes, but he gave me a pair of wings."
