Chapter 2119: Story of Ghost and Gods

This is the last one

The only one.

There is no do over again. And this event that would happen at the end, would no longer have any do over.

Which is something that all mortals understand but not divine beings like them

Loki before the End of Everything always thought that no matter how certain things happens, there is always a way to do it over all again

This is because he thought that there is truly no End to Everything. When he became Sovereign, he truly believes it

Yes, meddling with time and space has consequences but the fact remains that the world would exist and time and space existed

But the Battle of the End, shows him that there is true Absolute End.

And because of that he knew there is only one conclusion he must strive toward.

He must win

He sighed, he smiles, he laughs and he cries for what felt like eternity when he saw all of it becomes.... over

It felt like an eternity, like he was trapped in that moment forever.

There is nothing more heartbreaking and nothing more mind breaking than that

He had thought of how this day would come and he had all kinds of scenario playing in his mind.

But he never thought that things would develop this way. He knew the power of fate and destiny.

Even more so because he is the few people at the end that tries to defy it. It is the accumulation of the will of everything that exists and the accumulation of the general trend

This kind of fate and destiny is the hardest to change

Almost impossible when one thought of who ordained this destiny.

But Jean somehow managed to do the impossible, turning back...no basically rewriting everything.

What Jean had done that day should not be possible. If Jean had that kind of ability, how could the Destroyer even reach Earth?

That magic that Jena had done is a desperate measure. Jean himself was clutching on empty hope.

He simply didn’t want to give up and do it. And in doing it, he manages to found that path to hope

That hope.... that empty hope is not as empty as he thought.

Jean managed to do it. He himself did not seem to believe that he was able to do it.

Loki had been thinking of many things when he was in his slumber. The slumber of a god differs depending on the god intention for taking that slumber

Azief for example likes to take vacation. But what happens to the world when Death itself takes vacation?

Azief in his timeline is not called the Death God because he kills people. When one think about, he rarely kills.

Most mortals would surrender even before Azief made his real move so to think that he killed many people because his title is Death God would be a misunderstanding of the reason why he is called like that

The reason he is called God of Death or sometimes more affectionately called the Death God is because he governs the domain of life and death on Earth.

The world had no order, ghost appears and they hover between life and death, bringing harm and sadness, resentment fills the heaven and earth without any way to be released.

Before the Fall, there is no magic and there is no ghost.

There is no such thing as ghost.

Souls exist but not ghost. There is a border between life and death and the life on the living and the afterlife is a different world and the barrier is there to differentiate between the dead and the living

So, those who die could not harm the living and the living could not chase the dead.

There are however dark entities.

But ghost? No. the soul had already departed.

If there is a ghost you see, then that is not really a ghost. But an entity that pretend to be a ghost.

There is life and death, there is resentment and unfulfilled wishes when people dies and these wishes turns into resentment that affects the world

Loki remembers one of his conversations with the Death God.

Azief told him that when he mastered the laws of life and death, he already found his Grand Path.

But he did not see where he could use it.

But then as he becomes stronger, he could see where his laws and rules could be used. So, he established the Underworld, established reincarnation, the Courts of the Death with the Judges of Hell and Heaven

Form the moment Azief take the throne of God of Death, the authority of life and death on Earth fell into him.

Since then, he has the sovereignty over the soul born on Earth. And then that divine authority extends to the entire Milky Way galaxy.

And then further and further that divine authority grows

As long as his divine authority did not clash with other gods’ divine authority that holds the same laws and rule as him, his domain of life and death extend as far as it could.

Almost all the mega cluster of Universe that also house the Milky Way galaxy is under his divine authority

But then one question made him research thing for one hundred years.

And that is...before him, where did these souls go?

At that time, he did not yet know that there is a Creator or a Destroyer.

But then he notices that not all souls belong to him.

Some souls are special.

Azief told him there is a person who is very kind all of his life. His kindness is not something that he feigned.

Nor is it something that he did it to show to others.

The kind of kindness he did is almost invisible.

It is not like where billionaire splurged on money on charity to pretend that they are kind.

This man simply did what he should do and do not do what he shouldn’t do.

This person is not a saint.

There were some moral failings.

But almost all of his life, it is a process of learning from those mistakes and rectifying mistake and improving when he is doing right

Azief said he was quite impressed by this person personality and uprightness and his desire to correct himself and he could abandon self-interest for what he believes is right

He even thought to make him one of the Judges in the Underworld.

So, when that person died, Azief went to sit beside his death bed.

Azief had made sure that person live until his appointed time

And then when he died, he sat beside him.

The entire family was there. But no one could see the Death God sitting on that bed beside him

Azief said he was ready to receive that man soul and bring it to his kingdom.

But then for some reason when the soul come out from that person body, instead of coming to him, the rightful owner of the domain of life and death in this part of the galaxy, the soul flew away from him. And he chases that soul.

But it did not matter how strong or how fast or how many methods he has

He could not chase this soul no matter how fast he is and that is saying something. Loki is a Sovereign. So, he knows how fast they could be.

There is no place in the entire Omniverse they could not go.

Azief first thought that there is another Sovereign who is trying to usurp his divine authority

Azief told him that he was even ready to wage war.

He was that close to call all of his Ghost Generals and his Judges of the Underworld to prepare all the host of the Underworld in a war

In that world, in that timeline, Azief might not have Pandemonium.

And he did not have great powers like the World Government or the Revolutionary army that is helping him doing the menial stuff

But why is it that no one seem to care about this matter?

The powerful faction of the world at that time usually have the backing of a Sovereign

Only with the backing of a Sovereign they are truly safe.

There is a reason why the World Government and the Revolutionary army usually fight each other with intrigues and plots and deploy spies and special operatives instead of going head-to-head

Because behind them is gods

It would be like having nuclear weapons.

The outside world could be as chaotic as ever but there would never be a truly an attack in the mainland

Because the moment it happens it means the end of the world.

It is the same for that era.

So, most factions, most regime would always want to prove their usefulness to the Sovereigns

Some of them offer information or things that gods disdain to do

Jean had offers. Hikigaya and Oreki for example protected many island nations and protected many small kingdoms and states.

And these kingdom and states would try to satisfy any whims and desires of Hikigaya and Oreki for information, resources or any other things they might wanted or desire from the mortal realm

Shockingly enough, none of the Sovereigns deigns to do the kind of things tyrants would do. Most Sovereigns keeps to themselves and they fight and move according to their belief and path
