Chapter 2130: Walking Along the Stairway, Reminiscing the Matter of the Past

And the statues of those who walk that stairway.....were all people that broke through Sovereign realm.

What the tribulation of Sovereign had to contend were the aura of all of those beings that has transcended the Sovereign realm.

So, how could it force the stairway back. It could not. And now, the moment Azief appears on the outer space, the cosmic clouds begins showing reaction

But that reaction almost stopped immediately. Because it could not struck him when he is standing on that stairway

"before I was running in this stairway"

At that time he remembers when he move his left foot and his right foot one after the other, and he basically jogged.

But each steps seems to transport him through countless universes and dimensions and it almost felt like he was running

But now, he simply slowly walked.

Each step he took, countless universes and dimensions were passed on.

On his left and right the scenery changes constantly.

Universes flashes by.

All kinds of planets and galaxies seemingly passing him by

Some of these universes, he recognizes.

He remembers in the past when he walk this step, he passes through a star system that is full of gas.

And some of them are universes that is just beginning to get born.

And at one point he passes a universe that seems to have no light at all.

And as he passes those universes again, he notice some of them had changes in it. some are big , some are small and some are still at the starting line.

The steps on the other hand is made of light and illuminates his way forward.

Then he arrives at a certain place. He laughed. He stopped. It is not because he could not move forward.

But because he remembers the last time he stopped here. Before, when he arrived this far, he saw a gate.

A titanic gate that seems to block all things.

But even when he is in front of this gate, it is almost like his sight and his Divine Sense could see through the gate.

Almost like the moment that gate appears, it blocks everything from space and time to every dimension to appear behind it.

At that time Azief did not know what that gate was.

He only saw the weird symbols and in each of that symbol there is laws and rules of the Universe contained in every one of those symbols

Of course now, when he thinks about it, he knew those symbols were Etherna symbols.

It is not rune but a prototype of it.

The funny thing is that when he tries to remember those symbols on the gate, he could not remember it.

the more he tries to remember it, the more he forgets.

And only when he decided to forget about it, the clearer the symbol became.

It is just a pity that he did not etch those symbols in his head.

Though knowing how certain things have magic in them, and the more powerful the magic, the harder it is to remember it.

Azief eyes once he sees something, if he wanted to recall it, he could even recall the moment of that day almost perfectly, like recreating back that day

But certain things made even such a powerful memory become distorted.

There is many of such magic.

Hence why certain tomes, unless you have it in your hands, just memorizing it is useless.

The more powerful the magic, the harder it is to memorize it.

magic is not like this kind of aura.

It is somewhat like that in the eyes of mortal but there is a certain information in this aura.

And this information is massive and requires deep concentration to remember it. Of course, certain magic is simple

But other magic has frequencies and its own "feel" And if you could not replicate this frequencies and "feel" you could not use such magic.

It is this "feel" that requires massive amount of your memory storing it

It is like if you are in a game. You are a game character. But you do not know that the world is a video game and you are one of the characters in the game

But you live your life as you are programmed to do. You did not even know it. that from the beginning of your life, until the end, all of it was predetermined

You think you live your whole life right when in fact that everything is programmed. What you think right and wrong is only the program.

What they think is their own will is just illusion when the truth is everything is programmed

Like in any video game that have a story, there is a villain and there is a hero.

But to the coders who created the game, all of this is just numbers. Ones and zeros. And that is what magic is to the eyes of someone like him.

Mortals only see the flamboyant and corporeal side of it

Like the colours, the heat, the cold, the senses that you could use to measure the magic.

But to a being like him magic is like a coder seeing a game and wonder how many times they had to code that scene or certain mechanics and how many bugs they encountered.

High advanced magic is a bit like that.

But to say that it is similar would also be wrong.

It is not like remembering certain mortals’ certain mortal interactions.

Magical encounters and magical words or magical spells sometimes have to be repeated and sometime one have to have a physical copy of it to always remember it.

And then he look again at the empty space and thought of the gate.

That gate...Wargod summons it. Wargod told him all about it. how he summons that gate. And how Azul chastise him about it

Azul at that time already transcended normal Sovereign realm and truly transcend this Omniverse

He was more than enough to chastise him. At that time, Azief was ready to sacrifice himself rather than let that gate control him

That gate is called the Gate of Eternal Immortality.

Azul went to the Dark Universe and intimidate all of those chthonian creatures and force Wargod

Wargod told him that he had to admit defeat. With that the gate were recalled. At that time, Wargod intention against him was different than what it is now.

When Azief learn the full story he doesn’t know what he really feels.

Should he feel angry?

After all, Wargod basically trying to force the Will of the Etherna into him

It is very different from him using the Etherna legacy. Azief would have then been one of the Etherna.

Not merely some imitation or mutation but a true Etherna

Hence the name of the Gate of Eternal immortality

But that is taboo beyond taboo. This is a cursed existence. It should not exist. Wargod probably has some other plans.

While Wargod confess to him of this matter, he never told him why. But even so, Azief still feel complicated. He did not know whether to get angry

Because it is true that while Wargod did scheme against him, because of that scheme he gained something that has been helping him since then

At that time, in this same stairway, in front of that gate, feeling like his life would be controlled....he made his decision.

Regardless of interest and other consideration, he would rather die than become a puppet on a string

That is what he felt at that time. His Defiant Heart warn him that if he let that gate take over him, he would be losing his freedom

So, he choose something he would never choose in any other day. Since the Fall, it was almost like he was injected with some kind of drug

He wanted to live. Wanted to survive. It is funny when he thinks about it. before the Fall, there was a few times when he thinks that dead is not that scary.

But when he is confronted with death, it was like life injected into him some kind of force and he fought like hell to remain alive.

And he never felt so alive.

And then...in front of that gate, in this same stairway, he made the choice to explode himself

He would rather die.

In that moment, he recognizes that there are things more important than even life itself. Some people live their whole life, thinking that life is the most important thing and they would not reach this realm where they realize that sometimes life could be heavy and light and that their death and life have different weights depending on their thoughts, and their decision

And it was at that time, the force that try to pressure him dissipated.

At that time he did not know.

But now, he knows it was because of Azul

He was "persuading" Azul

However, that tribulation, that force that the gate had imposed upon him....there was a silver lining to it all

It caused him to transform.

That gate tries to force him to accept the Will of the Etherna inside of that Gate.

But because he resisted, it tempered his Will.
