Luis approached her with a mischievous grin, arms outstretched for a hug, but Yana pushed him away firmly. Her face cold, she said, "Luis, you were smart to be honest today. If you had tried to make excuses, you would have been in serious trouble."

"I'm telling you, I've already taken a hair follicle sample for a paternity test."

So she had indeed prepared a contingency plan. Luis felt immensely relieved that he hadn't tried to lie, and he saw this as an opportunity he could seize.

Thinking about Lily's current state, Yana realized he might have a point. A flicker of hesitation crossed her face, as if she couldn't find a solid reason to argue. And she also felt that her daughter wouldn't listen to her this time.

"You bastard, do you really intend to torment the two of us to death?" Yana felt a wave of helplessness and couldn't help but let out a long, weary sigh.

That sigh tugged at Luis's heart. After a moment of thought, he said with utter seriousness, "Sister Yana, I love you, and I love Maria. Unless she chooses to leave me on her own, I will never let go."

"I know what I am, and saying things about love might sound cliché and laughable..."

The truth was, Yana felt completely adrift and unable to make a decision. Over this period, she had grown accustomed to having this man as her pillar of support. Silently, she sighed, which could be taken as tacit consent.

To think that with a mix of persistence and coaxing, he had gotten through this so quickly. Luis was overjoyed. Holding her full, mature figure and noticing she was dressed temptingly in her nurse uniform, he felt a surge of desire.

Just then, her phone suddenly rang. It was a nurse from her department. "Chief, last week's work report is ready. Where are you? We're just waiting for your signature."

Yana shot Luis a glare and said, "Go find your other little lovers. I'm not in the mood to deal with you."

With that, she turned and walked away, her hips swaying. Luis grinned to himself and quietly slipped out the back door.
