Chapter 4038: Chapter 4038: Miss, Your Username Clashed
The other side.
In a Beijing shopping mall, Li Mo had just finished her manicure and went to SEVEN to select a necklace for her engagement party. While she was waiting for the staff to fetch the items, she idly looked at her phone.
She noticed that she had a new WhatsApp message.
Li Mo was surprised to see Zhang Yang’s name. She was astonished that he would reach out to her, so she propped her chin with one hand while picking up the phone to open the message with the other.
At this moment, a staff member came out carrying a tray.
Seeing the woman in a water-green strappy dress playing on her phone, the staff member didn’t rush to disturb her but silently stood by holding the tray.
Li Mo caught sight of the staff out of the corner of her eye but didn’t pay attention, continuing to read her messages.
These days, she had been trying hard to integrate into the domestic circles, especially the elite group that Zhang Yang was part of, in an effort to build good relations with its members.
Zhang Yang had indeed taken her out a few times.
However, Li Mo could sense that he was not particularly enthusiastic about her, only giving her some face but not initiating a deeper connection.
Li Mo was inwardly frustrated with his distant attitude, yet she knew that her family was somewhat influential abroad, but in places like Beijing, it was not her time to show off.
Li Mo was also aware that Zhang family wasn’t powerful, but Zhang Yang was extremely capable. If she wanted to smoothly integrate into Beijing’s elite circle, offending him was not an option.
"Miss Li..." The staff, standing for a long time with tired feet, softly called her.
Li Mo returned a cold glance.
The staff dared not speak further.
Li Mo then regained her focus and looked at her phone’s WhatsApp message. When she realized what Zhang Yang had sent, her expression changed slightly, and she pursed her lips, feeling quite infuriated.
"Bang!"
She slammed the phone onto the glass counter with enough force to catch her breath, still in disbelief at her eyes.
Yet, the message on Zhang Yang’s WhatsApp showed no change; it was still the polite yet quite impolite request—"Hey there, could you change the group name? Your ID is overlapping."
Li Mo pinched her palm, feeling her temple’s pulse throb intensely, the WhatsApp message from Zhang Yang looking as if it was mocking her.
Li Mo barely contained her anger.
She picked up the phone again, scrolling through the group IDs, and finally spotted one towards the end with a name similar to hers.
Zhui Guang.
Their avatar was blank, and they hadn’t spoken in the group.
If this ID hadn’t been quietly lying in the group list, Li Mo wouldn’t even know there was someone with a similar name.
Who is this!
Li Mo stared at the pitch-black avatar, pondering for a long time without knowing who they were.
Since setting her engagement with The Bo family and returning to the country, she had seamlessly blended into social circles, everything going smoothly.
Even though Zhang Yang wouldn’t proactively connect deeply, he still gave her enough face.
Li Mo never anticipated having an ID in the group so similar to someone’s that they’d request her to change it. What is this? An intentional provocation?
Before Li Mo could figure out what this Zhui Guang meant, she heard the store staff’s gentle introduction.
"Miss, this row is our latest finished product series this year, and the next row inside represents ’Stars,’ a necklace designed by the genius designer S for this year’s high-end line."
"This one’s nice."
The woman’s voice was full of allure.
Li Mo looked up to see her pointing at one of the necklaces that she had been eyeing but hadn’t chosen: "Take this set out for me to see."
The necklace was a high-end ruby jewelry set where the designer simply inlaid stones on silver bases without using overly complex techniques.
