Marriage of the Di Daughter Chapter 140 Part 4: Issue an Order

She suddenly stood up and said, “It won’t do, I have to find a way to get out of the residence.”

“Miss?” Jin Hua was stunned, “nowadays, the residence is guarded very tightly, how can we go out?”

In order to prevent the subordinates from spreading the matter, not a single fly in the residence was allowed to fly out, let alone a big living person like Jiang You Yao. Although Jiang You Yao was not grounded, she could not go anywhere.

“Hateful.” Jiang You Yao sat back dejectedly, “What to do now?”

……

The sky gradually got dark.

If there was anyone who could freely go out of the residence, Jiang Li was probably considered the only one. She had just returned from the Ye mansion and walked into Fang Fei Courtyard. Qing Feng and Ming Yue were sitting in the garden embroidering pouches. Upon seeing Jiang Li’s return, they got up to welcome her.

“Did anything happen in the residence?” Jiang Li asked.

“Bao Qin came to return the silver and coal Miss had given Aunt Hu to help her before.” Ming Yue said, “Bao Qin has followed Aunt Hu all along, after Aunt Hu passed away, Bao Qin has no place to go. Old madam returned Bao Qin’s deed of sale to her, and let her go back home. But Bao Qin seems to have given up, saying she wants to go to the temple and spend the second half of her life beside the green lamp and the ancient Buddha1.” Ming Yu said. She sighed, “She’s also a pitiful person.”

“Has she left?” asked Jiang Li.

“She will leave the residence tomorrow.”

Jiang Li returned the silver to Ming Yue, “Even though she is going to a temple, silver is still indispensable. The days in the future are still long, there’s no need to bet her entire life away. But she will not listen to this speech now. Think of a way for her to bring the silver with her, there’s no need to let her know.” Jiang Li said.

Ming Yue received the silver, was stunned, and after a long time, she smiled and said, “Miss has a really good heart.”

“Nothing but feeling sentimental.” Jiang Li shook her head.

“That’s right, Zhen Zhu from old madam’s side also came over.” Qing Feng recalled something and said, “Zhen Zhu said, after Miss come back, old madam let you see Ji-shi. If there’s anything to say to Ji-shi, you can say it to Ji-shi.”

Tong’er was surprised, “Doesn’t old madam not let anyone approach Ji-shi, that lunatic?”

“Who knows, maybe it’s especially for Miss to vent her anger. Ji-shi harmed Miss and Madam so tragically, she naturally ought to be scolded to relieve anger.” Qing Feng objected.

However, Jiang Li did not think so. Old madam suddenly said this, which could only indicate that she had made up her mind. Ji Shuran’s road would end here, and the old madam gave her permission to see Ji Shuran for the last time.

Jiang Li said, “Since old madam said so, let’s go.”

“Now?” Tong’er asked.

“Right now.”

Any later would be too late.

……

Ji Shuran was tied inside a room of an old building in the side courtyard.

White silk was hung inside and outside the building. Actually, no one in the residence needed to make funeral arrangements when Aunt Hu died; especially someone like Aunt Hu who over the years, had almost been forgotten by everyone. However, because Aunt Hu’s death was too miserable, the Jiang family was ashamed, so even though she was just a concubine, she was still buried carefully and the people in the residence wore mourning clothes.

The room Ji Shuran was staying in was also the same. Only two candles were lit, which oil dripped as it burnt into odd shapes, just like a person’s tears. It’s unknown who set the copper basin at the doorway, there were still partially burnt paper money inside, some flew and reflected onto the window, dancing in strange silhouettes.

Ji Shuran shrank into a corner, her back cold.

There wasn’t a single person in the room. She was full of fear, so much so that she even longed for the thick and rough matrons who had been impolite and abused her. At least there would be someone in the room with her then, and she would not feel such a thick ghastly atmosphere.

She always thought she was not afraid of ghosts and spirits. As long as people had the means, ghosts would fear villains. But ever since the day Taoist priest Chong Xu came to perform the exorcism, what she saw had crushed the belief in her heart. There were ghosts in this world, once she was certain of this point, whenever Ji Shuran closed her eyes, she was able to see those people she had harmed coming to her baring their fangs and brandishing their claws.

Ye Zhen Zhen, Jiang Yue, Liu Wen Cai, Si Qi, and many many others, including the child in her belly. Her brain was exceptionally noisy with many people talking. At this time, she felt extremely weak, really wishing Jiang Bing Ji and Jiang You Yao to be in front of her.

Not right, they did not come.

Thinking about it, she was someone with an unpardonable crime in the face of the Jiang family members, naturally, her children were forbidden from coming to see her. Fortunately, Jiang Yuan Bai and old madam Jiang were not unreasonable people, they would not take their anger out on her children. Therefore, Ji Shuran’s heart felt a bit better.

Right at this moment, a sound seemed to be coming from outside. Ji Shuran curled her body nervously. Her hands and feet were bound, making her unable to move nor run away. Since she was born, although she wasn’t related to royalty, she did not have a hard life, let alone being replaced like this. Ji Shuran was thinking, the Jiang family treated her so harshly, when she went out, she must let her sister, Li-pin, find a way to ruthlessly retaliate against the people in the Jiang family.

Yes, Ji Shuran still believed that she would go out.

She initially thought she would not have a chance to live due to Liu Wen Cai’s ghostly appearance. She didn’t know why Liu Wen Cai did not take her away. As long as people are not dead, their desire to live will be especially strong. After Ji Shuran came back to her senses, she quickly thought of ways to escape.

No need to mention other things, at least her eldest sister was the emperor’s most loved imperial concubine. If the Jiang family wanted to do something to her, they had to consider it a few times.

The sound of footsteps from outside the door gradually became clearer. Step by step, neither light nor heavy, yet Ji Shuran felt each step was hitting her heart heavily.

The voice of someone speaking outside came through.

The door opened with a creak.

The wind blew the paper money from the ground. A person dressed in plain white, with white flower on her head, carrying a lantern, walked in.

It’s Jiang Li.

I’m sorry for missing last week’s chapters, it’s been super hectic with the constant rain, cleaning the house, fixing the leak, and hosting relatives coming for greetings and the new year itself. As much as I enjoy the tradition, it is very taxing. Still, it’s a happy event to celebrate year after year ^^.
