Chapter 193: She couldn’t feel anything. (1)
Young Mr. Gray Wolf carried Ruan Qiuqiu on his back and walked along the somewhat steep cliff. When they were about to arrive at their destination, he let out a not-too-loud “aowu” to remind her to lower her head as there was rock protruding out in front of them.
Ruan Qiuqiu acknowledged him and lowered her head. She had almost come into contact with his wolf skin.
As Xiao Yuan Jue moved forward, Ruan Qiuqiu noticed that where they were had become dimmer and dimmer. When she saw light again, they had already arrived next to young Mr. Gray Wolf’s cave.
“Aowu. (We are here),” said young Mr. Gray Wolf. Ruan Qiuqiu quickly climbed down from his back.
She looked at little Yuan Jue’s feet in the dim light and noticed that the blood and dirt were gone but were replaced by many small scratches. Her eyes reddened again.
“I am heavy, am I not?” asked Ruan Qiuqiu. She had wanted to remove the animal skin that was wrapped around her feet and gave them to young Mr. Gray Wolf but, much like the mask on her, those were not something that she could remove.
As he had been worrying about whether Ruan Qiuqiu would dislike his home, young Mr. Gray Wolf was taken aback for a couple of seconds after he heard her question. Then, his ears flickered, he said, “Aowu? (This wolf can carry up to 10 Ruan Qiuqiu at the same time.)”
Ruan Qiuqiu, “… …”
She looked at young Mr. Grey Wolf, feeling both a heartache and wanted to laugh at the same time. With all the complicated emotions inside of her, she merely walked up and held his icy cold hand. “Didn’t you say you are taking me back to the cave?”
Even though young Mr. Grey Wolf felt shy and was not used to holding hands with his young wife, he felt that it was certainly something that made him happy.
Holding Ruan Qiuqiu’s hand that was every bit as cold as his, he wanted to warm her up. As such, he learned a skill that he did not previously possess spontaneously –
To regulate the temperature gradually.
Specifically, to warm up Ruan Qiuqiu’s hand with his spiritual power.
He was never able to master this skill but, somehow, he had it figured out today.
Walking forward while holding onto Ruan Qiuqiu’s hand, they walked past weeds that were growing out of the cracks even in winter time, through snow that were soft like cotton candy, leapt over a small creek that had frozen over, and finally arrived at his home.
This dark little cave, compared to the one that she was currently living in with big Mr. Gray Wolf, was incredibly shabby.
Ruan Qiuqiu, who had seen many caves by demons or humans, knew that the one that Yuan Jue had in the past was already better than most others within the demons. One could almost call it luxurious after the door had been added.
Nevertheless, given young Mr. Grey Wolf’s current age, it wasn’t easy just for him to find a place to live in.
Ruan Qiuqiu didn’t dislike it but she finally couldn’t help but asked young Mr. Grey Wolf next to her, “How come your hand is getting hotter and hotter?”
Young Mr. Grey Wolf, whose intention was not understood, “… …”
He thought perhaps he had failed to control the temperature properly and that Ruan Qiuqiu didn’t like it. His tail that was sticking up lowered and he carefully adjusted his temperature back to normal. He played dumb, “Aowu? (What?)”
Ruan Qiuqiu, with his hand in hers, noticed that his hand was looking a little burned, regretted deeply that she didn’t ask him about it as soon as she noticed the abnormality.
Ever since she started holding his hand, Ruan Qiuqiu felt that young Mr. Grey Wolf’s hand had become warmer and warmer. She thought perhaps that was the difference between human and demon at the beginning. She had, after all, never held hands with big Mr. Gray Wolf.
She finally noticed that something was off toward the end.
With the mask on her and her being much shorter than him, young Mr. Grey Wolf was unable to read her emotions as soon as she stopped talking. He lowered his ears feeling dispirited.
