Chapter 6: Match

Lucas made his move and rushed toward Ichiro.

But…

Ichiro also made his move at the same time and hurried towards Lucas, making Lucas slightly surprised, because this is the first time Ichiro made an intention to be in the offensive

But Lucas was still calm, he is after all Martial Leader rank and Ichiro isn't at that level yet.

Lucas moved swiftly using his boxing movement and kept raining Ichiro with straight punches.

But Ichiro used Ironic Edge to make them miss him, but Ichiro is constantly on the defensive end.

Suddenly Lucas kicked Ichiro's leg making it bruised!

''?!'' Ichiro was shocked seeing Lucas kicking even though he was supposed to be a boxer, and that the damage behind that kick was enormous, which means that Lucas is familiar with kicks.

''Sorry buddy, but I am actually Kickboxer,'' Lucas said and started doing jabs and every now and then kicked Ichiro's legs making them bruised and numb.

'Not good!' Ichiro thought to himself after feeling that Lucas got the upper hand and since Lucas is physically much stronger than Ichiro made this match was almost impossible to win.

Ichiro was getting pushed to the edge of the arena, but then he suddenly went to a different stance known as Front Stance from Karate.

Then Ichiro punched with Front Lunge Punch

Front Lunge Punch is a punch executed from a front stance, with the punching leg throwing the punch. Ichiro pushed his hip forward using his stance to add more momentum to the attack.

It successfully managed to hit Lucas on his torso making him stagger backward a few meters.

But now it was time for Ichiro to take the offensive.

Ichiro took a huge step forward and did Straight Punch from Karate

The Straight Punch is primarily a straight jab executed from a natural stance. First Ichiro made a fist by folding his fingers - not over his thumb - and bent his knuckles at the base of his fingers. Then, tucked his fingers inside his palm.

Then he punched with the right arm and his palm was facing upwards. As he pulled his other arm in, his punching arm extends until the palms face downwards.

''Ugh.'' Lucas was sent rolling on the ground, but he quickly stood up to stand on his feet, but his feet were shaking a little bit.

'He knows Karate too! But he only showed basics… is that his limit?' Thought Lucas to himself

''This doesn't make any sense!'' One of the students yelled

''How is that newbie so strong?!''

''Interesting…'' mumbled the teacher who is in charge of the martial arts club

Back in the match, Ichiro rushed with fast movements going zigzag towards Lucas.

Lucas was preparing for incoming attacks with his hands guarding his face.

Ichiro closed on Lucas, but then he sidestepped to left and did few jabs dodging Lucas' block and managing to hit few jabs to the side of Lucas' face.

'Boxing too!' Lucas thought to himself anxiously.

But he soon calmed himself down and went backward a few meters.

But Ichiro won't let Lucas have any breathing space and rushed towards him again.

'My physical body is only at the level of Martial Novice after I put my stat points, without stat points added, I would have body worse than Martial Novice has…' thought Ichiro to himself grimly.

Ichiro stopped thinking of useless things and arrived at attacking distance.

Ichiro then suddenly accelerated and tackled towards Lucas' legs to try to take him down!

But…

Lucas's physical prowess was simply too much for Ichiro.

Lucas manage to stop the tackle barely and kept standing while holding Ichiro's shoulders to stop him.

'Damn it!' Ichiro thought to himself while feeling like he is about to be defeated.

Lucas then did a knee kick towards Ichiro's head, but Ichiro managed to dodge it by moving his head towards the Left, and finally he managed to escape from Lucas' clutches with his new agility stats.

Lucas then rushed towards Ichiro and started raining jabs towards Ichiro, but Ichiro managed to redirect them with Ironic Edge.

Match has already lasted over 2 minutes and the winner has not yet been decided!

Lucas kept attacking Ichiro, while Ichiro kept redirecting attacks and trying to counterattack once or twice but to no avail.

The match was starting to favor Lucas because Ichiro started to feel the lack of stamina.

He is already breathing heavily.

'I don't have much time!' Thought Ichiro to himself grimly and kept thinking multiple ways to overcome this fight.

Ichiro's body is already starting to be filled with bruises or scratches while a little bit of blood dripping from his fists.

'To think I bleed from fists because I hit a person with it… how pathetic, how long was it when that last time happened, maybe when I was 15 in my last life…' Ichiro thought to himself while having a weak smile on his handsome, but pale face.

There is already a huge crowd around the center arena with at least 50 students.

All of them have the same expression of disbelief.

They are all aware that Lucas is currently the strongest student in school and the only one with a Martial Leader rank.

Most importantly Ichiro's friends who came to watch after hearing about the news had the most shocked expressions with their mouths agape.

and there was also Ichiro's sister Ayako watching with a huge smile on her face and since she came to watch the match, she hasn't stopped cheering even once.

''GO BROTHER!!!''

'Huh, was that Ayako?' thought Ichiro to himself while he was being pushed back by a rain of punches from Lucas.

Lucas then approached close to Ichiro and did hook punch, but Ichiro just moved his head back to barely dodge it, but he couldn't dodge the incoming front kick from Lucas and was flung back to the edge of the arena.

'System, how much HP I have left?' Ichiro asked in his mind

[7/15 HP]

[When your HP goes under 5 HP, it means that to make full recovery will take over a week, be cautious from now on Host.]

'Is there items which can speed up recover?'

[Yes, you can get from Random Boxes or from Shop when System Levels up.]

Ichiro stopped talking to the system and stood up from his position and looked at Lucas who is approaching him with huge momentum.

'He looks like a mountain.' Ichiro thought to himself.

Ichiro then did again his zigzag movement and approached Lucas from his side and did a roundhouse kick aiming at Lucas's head, but Lucas was already prepared for it and blocked it calmly with his arms.

Ichiro then stepped backward to gain some distance and rushed back towards Lucas.

Lucas was still standing calmly.

Ichiro then did a Jumping Front Kick towards Lucas, but Lucas simply dodged it and did Straight Punch towards Ichiro's head.

Ironic Edge!

Ichiro was prepared for it and instantly once he landed on the ground, he performed Ironic Edge to redirected the punch and attacked with an elbow aiming at Lucas' head.

But Lucas suddenly ducked and aimed a punch towards Ichiro's solar plexus.

''UGH!'' Ichiro groaned in pain and then slowly started falling to the ground…

Ichiro then slowly fell down to the hard ground of the arena… Passing out.

''Winner Lucas Captain of Martial Arts Club!'' The club member who was the referee yelled loudly.

*Claps*

Few claps came once some people woke up from a stupor.

Match lasted a little bit over 3 minutes and it was constant action and students who came to watch were truly shocked to see Ichiro's prowess.

Ichiro's friend in the other hand wore regretful expressions seeing Ichiro being defeated when he almost won.

''Brother!'' Ayako yelled and ran towards Ichiro

''He is alright.'' The teacher who is in charge of the Martial Arts Club told Ayako and picked Ichiro up to take him towards the infirmary.

Ayako followed him behind with an anxious look on her face.

''Lucas congratulations!'' One of the club members said to Lucas with a huge smile.

''I knew that piece of crap couldn't defeat you!'' and one of the club members said still with the same disdain.

But Lucas got angry hearing that comment…

''What the fuck did you say?!'' Lucas asked with anger and grabbed him from his collar and hold him in midair.

''C-captain!'' young man who spoke with disdain towards Ichiro was now shaking in fear.

''Piece of sh*t like you can't even understand his level and you speak about him with disdain? What gives you that right?! He deserves some fucking respect!'' Lucas yelled with anger and threw the young man to a nearby wall - the young man passed out from the impact.

''Take that garbage to the infirmary and say to him that he isn't allowed to come to this club anymore,'' Lucas said to one of the club members and then started to walk towards the locker rooms while thinking about the match…

''Y-yes Captain!'' He said and walked towards the knocked-out young man.

(Ichiro Pov)

Ah, my head…

I opened my eyes and saw an unfamiliar ceiling.

''Oh, you are awake.'' I heard a noise coming from next to me and there I saw the teacher from the martial arts club.

''Sensei, why you are here?'' I asked from him

''I carried you here, you sure gave Lucas a run for his money.'' The teacher said with a smile.

'I see… I lost… he was strong…' I thought to myself while wearing a regretful smile on my face

''Brother are you okay?!'' I heard an anxious-sounding voice from my other side and there I saw a cute-looking little girl.

''Ayako? What are you doing here?''

''I saw the match and you were amazing! B-but then you got knocked out so I was worried that something happened to you!'' Ayako said first with a happy look on her face, but at end of her sentence, her expression turned as sad.

''I-I am sorry,'' I told Ayako while I was feeling bad for making her worry and I felt same time sweet that someone cared for me that much.

''It's fine brother! But since when you were that strong!!'' Ayako asked with a huge smile and kept tugging my shirt.

''What do you mean, I have been always been this strong!''

''Liar!'' Ayako said with a pout.

''Ichiro.'' the Teacher said and I turned my head towards him.

''Yes?''

''Do you perhaps want to do your ranking test?''

''…'' I was speechless, I know that I am perhaps Martial Soldier level, but I was planning to improve a little bit more, before trying to get my own rank.

''No need to answer yet, you have 1 month before the new ranking test for Martial Soldier and I am sure you can pass it.'' The teacher said with a smile and stood up to leave.

''Rest well, you got some injuries and it will take few days to heal.'' He said and then left.

''Well then… Ayako, should we go too?'' I asked Ayako and she only nodded with a smile, we stood up and started leaving towards home.

I made a little deal with Ayako so she won't tell anything that happened to our parents, because they would probably be mad about me getting hurt, but I had to sacrifice 5 ice creams to keep the secret safe! So painful…

So after arriving at home, I simply greeted my parents and went to my room to check the system.

I got few messages during the fight so I decided to check it out.
