Chapter 6383: You Are the Treasure

Jie Mubai was first stunned before he snorted in anger, “I didn’t contribute? Who constructed the teleportation formation?”

“What does constructing that teleportation formation have to do with breaching this formation?” Chu Feng asked.

Jie Mubai was stumped. “Fine. Even if the teleportation formation has nothing to do with breaching the formation, you have taken a lot of my items for it.”

“I did, but I didn’t use them,” Chu Feng replied.

Jie Mubai was irked. “Chu Feng, why are you so irritating? I thought you were a sentimental person. This doesn’t align with what the rumors say about you.”

“I am a sentimental person, but only to humans,” Chu Feng replied.

“What do you mean by that?” Jie Mubai asked.

“What do you think about my discernment?”

“You have sharp eyes. I don’t know how you do it, but I’ll concede as much your eyes are keener than mine.”

“Then why do you think I can’t see through your tricks?”

“What tricks? Get to the point.”

“You should know better whether those eight world spiritists are humans or formations.”

“You’re saying that the eight world spiritists are formations, and you suspect I conjured them to win your goodwill?”

“What else could it be?”

“Chu Feng, you’re too cautious. I might be from the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, but I should have made it clear I’m on Tiannian’s side. It’s good to be wary, but you shouldn’t push aside those who are on your side.”

“I’ll concede as much as your formation is ingenious. I couldn’t tell that those eight world spiritists were formations at first. You sold yourself out when you said that they had prepared formations to destroy their origin energies and treasures while collecting their blood fogs. But I didn’t sense any formations when their bodies shattered. They had no such formations on them. You were just trying to conceal they didn’t have origin energies,” Chu Feng said.

Jie Mubai laughed helplessly. “Why don’t you tell me what reason I have for doing this?”

“You arrived at this place long ago, and you discovered that it’ll be easier for a junior to breach this place than to do it yourself. You noticed me as soon as I arrived here, so you staged that show to win my goodwill. You wanted to use me to breach this tombstone,” Chu Feng replied.

“A plausible theory, but you’re thinking too much. Those eight world spiritists aren’t conjured from formations. I don’t have the means to conjure eight pinnacle True Dragon World Spiritists. They do have a formation that destroys their treasures and origin energies, but they are deeply hidden. You were probably too tense to notice it then,” Jie Mubai explained.

“Continue the act. I’m listening,” Chu Feng said.

“Chu Feng, there’s no need for me to go through so much trouble just to deal with you. Do you think you would stand a chance against my spirit power?” Jie Mubai asked.

“Are you stronger than Jie Tianran? And what makes you think I’m alone?” Chu Feng asked, intending to intimidate Jie Mubai.

He had intentionally refused to answer Jie Mubai’s question about Long Zhuoyan to make the latter wonder if he still had Long Zhuoyan’s backing at the moment.

“I have no fear, even if you have that powerhouse’s backing. Someone of that stature won’t attack me over your skepticism.” Jie Mubai clasped his fist at the sky and said, “Elder, please reveal yourself and judge this matter. Do the eight world spiritists exist, or did I conjure them from a formation?”

“You aren’t worthy of meeting that person,” Chu Feng replied.

He could tell that Jie Mubai was trying to probe him to see if he truly had someone behind him.

“Forget it. It’s just some origin essences and resources. You can take them if you wish. I’ll think of them as an introduction gift,” Jie Mubai replied with a helpless sigh.

“Why is that fellow still acting? What is he up to? I have already devoured the origin energies, so there shouldn’t be anything else for him to take,” Eggy asked.

“No, there’s still something else. I underestimated him. I thought he couldn’t see through it, but he must have noticed,” Chu Feng replied.

“Is there more to the reward?” Eggy was surprised.

“Yes. I’ve been suppressing it with my formation, but I’m at my limit now. It looks like I’ll have to share the treasure with him.”

Chu Feng withdrew his formation, and the coffin shattered. Spirit power gushed into the air, swirling in the sky before forming a gigantic map. The map marked a tombstone and the way to breach it.

Jie Mubai smirked upon seeing the map. “I knew the origin energies couldn’t have been all there is to the treasure. But why is it only appearing now? I see, you must have been suppressing, but you have reached your limit now.”

Even his tone had changed.

“You’re finally dropping your act?” Chu Feng asked.

Jie Mubai sneered, “You’re right. I arrived a long time ago, and I refrained from making a move because I wasn’t confident of breaching the formation. I conjured the eight world spiritists using a treasure to win your trust. You might have seen through my act, but you still did my bidding. This is still the outcome I wanted. But what I want the most isn’t the treasure here. You are the true treasure here.”

Jie Mubai looked at Chu Feng with eyes brimming with viciousness and greed.
