Chapter 6520: That Works
“That is a problem.” Chu Feng frowned. He turned to Wen Xue and asked, “Senior, do you know the rank five Heavenly Gods in the Netherworld Sect?”
He spoke via voice transmission, though he relayed his words to Li Wu and Bai Yunqing as well.
“Baili Xukong is the only one in the new faction who has reached this level. I don’t know the people in the conservative faction, but since they can stand their ground against the new faction, I’d assume they have at least one rank five Heavenly God as well.
“The neutral faction only has a few old fellows, but I’m sure some of them have reached rank five Heavenly God as well. It might even be possible that all of them are at rank five Heavenly God level,” Wen Xue replied.
“They have so many experts?” Chu Feng realized that the situation was going to be tricky. “What if you encounter someone of that level? Can Wuma Hanshuang rescue a hostage from their grasp?”
“Of course not. In fact, I suspect someone stronger might come down very soon to question Wuma Hanshuang for capturing these two people. That can potentially expose us before we can save anyone,” Wen Xue said grudgingly.
The odds were stacked against them in the first place. The Undying Starfield was enveloped in the Netherworld Sect’s formation. It was easy for them to track and hunt anyone down.
Bai Yunqing said, “Big brother, you should leave first.”
“What are you talking about? I still have business here, and Feng Ling is my friend. I can’t turn a blind eye to her plight. You came up with a plan, right? Tell me about it,” Chu Feng said.
“I’ll tell him,” Li Wu said.
It turned out that Li Wu and Bai Yunqing had been here for some time now. They couldn’t ascertain whether Feng Ling was imprisoned in a spatial realm or not, but they had devised a countermeasure.
Their plan was to grasp control of the Netherworld Sect’s sacred item.
Of course, the sacred item was nowhere near enough to curb all the Netherworld Sect’s experts, but they could at least use it to suppress their cultivation. As long as they could make the enemies weaker than them, they would be able to easily rescue Feng Ling.
“That’s easier said than done. Even the Netherworld Sect and the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion struggle to grasp control of the sacred item, but those two think that they can use their sacred item to curb them?” Eggy scoffed.
“Brother, that’s too dangerous,” Chu Feng replied.
It was not to imply that the plan was completely hopeless, but it was too difficult to pull off.
“Big brother Chu Feng, I know this would be an impossible feat otherwise, but there’s a good chance of pulling it off with Miss Li Wu here,” Bai Yunqing said as he looked at Li Wu.
Chu Feng and Wen Xue turned their gazes to Li Wu.
“I felt a peculiar sense of familiarity with the Netherworld Sect’s sacred item, though I can’t remember where I have seen it. However, I’m certain that my power can resonate with the sacred item. I might not be able to control the sacred item, but I can at least tap into its power to construct a formation and fuse it into a suppression formation to suppress the Netherworld Sectmembers’ cultivation,” Li Wu explained.
It turned out that Li Wu was in a weakened state not because she was injured by the Netherworld Sectmembers but because she had extracted a portion of her energy and fused it into the formation Bai Yunqing had prepared beforehand.
That greatly weakened her fighting prowess, or else she could have at least stood her ground longer against the three rank four Heavenly Gods.
While chatting, they made their way to a remote area.
“Show me the formation,” Chu Feng said.
“Big brother Chu Feng, this is the formation.” Bai Yunqing took out an item that resembled a Cosmos Sack, but that was merely a disguise for the formation.
Chu Feng inspected the formation, and his eyes lit up.
This formation had potential. There were flaws in it, but he could teach Bai Yunqing how to resolve those problems. More importantly, Li Wu’s incomparably powerful curse energy had grown much more potent than before. It was extremely permeative, so there was a high chance it could permeate the sacred item.
The formation also contained a golden talisman paper that wielded the power to suppress the cultivation of others. The talisman paper looked new, but it emanated an aura even older than the Ancient Era. It was clearly from the Immemorial Era.
However, this talisman paper was an incomplete product. It couldn’t directly suppress one’s cultivation; it needed to be channeled through a powerful treasure.
So, the plan was for Li Wu to take control of the sacred item with her curse energy before utilizing the sacred item’s energy to channel the suppression talisman.
This suppression talisman worked against both cultivators and world spiritists alike.
“Miss Li Wu, you are actually the Black-feathered Specter, aren’t you?” Chu Feng asked.
He wanted to verify it despite already having the answer to the question. Before they parted ways, Li Wu gave Chu Feng a box that not only harnessed the Black-feathered Specter’s aura but also had the power to lift Bai Liluo’s curse energy.
“Isn’t the clue I gave you obvious enough?” Li Wu asked.
“It is obvious enough.” Chu Feng chuckled. “Your power is unique and formidable, Miss Li Wu.”
“Do you think it’s feasible?” Li Wu asked.
“It is feasible, but we have to first make some changes,” Chu Feng said.
“How?”
“Add my bloodline to your curse energy. That will enhance my control.”
“There’s no need for that. I can sense it when you activate the formation. I’ll channel my energy to coordinate with you then.”
“What if you’re unable to do so?”
“The energy I infused into the formation is special. It’s intricately linked to me. I can channel it even from outside the Undying Starfield, as long as I’m not too far away,” Li Wu said.
“I understand, but there’s another reason I suggested adding my bloodline to your energy. There’s a Netherworld Embryo in me. I suspect that the sacred item may reject external entities, since it’s from the Netherworld Sect, but we can minimize the rejection using the Netherworld Embryo’s aura,” Chu Feng replied.
“Fine.” Li Wu nodded.
Following that, Chu Feng told Bai Yunqing the adjustments that needed to be done to the formation to perfect it. Granted that he could do it himself, it was easier for Bai Yunqing to do it given his stronger spirit power.
So, Chu Feng gave the command, while Bai Yunqing carried out the orders. Li Wu also cooperated with them.
Some time later, Bai Yunqing finally completed the formation.
Chu Feng stowed the formation away and told Li Wu, “Miss Li Wu, tell me Feng Ling’s location.”
Li Wu took out a small white stone and handed it to Chu Feng. The stone glowed and pulsated like a mini heart. “This is Feng Ling’s life stone. It can lock onto her location. She is near the Netherworld Sect’s sacred item, but there are too many people guarding the area. We dare not make a reckless move.”
“Leave it to me.” Chu Feng turned to Wen Xue and said, “Senior, please take the two of them out of here.”
The three of them were startled.
“You’re staying here alone?” Wen Xue asked.
