Chapter 6573: Obtaining Two Secret Treasures
After the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief disappeared, Chu Feng executed Heaven Footwork and vanished into thin air. By the time he reappeared, he was already very far away from where he previously was.
He swung his Monster Slayer Sword down on what appeared to be nothing, but blood splattered.
GAH!
The Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief shrieked in pain. His figure reappeared.
Chu Feng’s Monster Slayer Sword had slashed him from his shoulder to his abdomen, slicing him into two pieces.
The excruciating pain caused the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief’s face to warp, but he swallowed his screams and frantically pleaded for his life, “Young hero, it’s a misunderstanding. It’s all a misunderstanding!”
“A misunderstanding?” Chu Feng sneered.
He exerted a powerful suction force that flowed through the Monster Slayer Sword and enveloped the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief.
“GAHHHHH!”
The Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief let out a blood-curdling cry. His body convulsed ceaselessly from the sheer pain, his eyeballs bulged, and he struggled to utter a word.
Chu Feng was absorbing the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief’s origin energies, and he was using some method to maximize the pain.
By the time he transferred the origin energies to Eggy in his World Spirit Space, the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief was already on the verge of death. Even so, he continued glaring hatefully at Chu Feng.
If looks could kill, Chu Feng would have withered there and then.
But even so, the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief didn’t utter a word. He wasn’t able to speak earlier due to the sheer pain, but now, he was too weak to talk.
“Don’t do things that will cause misunderstandings in your next life,” Chu Feng sneered as killing intent flickered across his eyes.
Shoosh shoosh!
There were two flashes of cold light. One sliced the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief in half, and the other one decapitated him.
The dark clouds dissipated along with the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief’s aura.
Neither the guild leader nor the lunatic was surprised by Chu Feng’s decisiveness in killing the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief, but watching him construct a formation to preserve the latter’s carcass gave them chills.
They wondered if Chu Feng had some twisted interest in storing corpses.
Chu Feng formed a hand seal and activated a formation. An aura flowed out of the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief’s body and converged to form a rune imprint. The rune imprint emanated an extremely old aura that dated even farther back than the Ancient Era.
It was an item from the Immemorial Era.
“What’s that?”
The guild leader and the lunatic’s eyes lit up.
Chu Feng grabbed the rune imprint. He made his way over to the guild leader and the lunatic while explaining, “It’s a treasure. It harnesses formidable concealment power and raises one’s speed.”
Then, he flicked his wrist and whipped out a silver dagger. It was the same silver dagger brandished by the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief earlier. It was not a God Armament but a treasure.
“This dagger wields formidable offensive prowess. It can move at exceedingly fast speeds, making it nigh impossible to avoid when activated at close range. It can also easily pierce most defensive means.
“That old leopard used the rune imprint to first sneak up on you before activating the dagger at close range.”
“Are you saying that he relied solely on those two treasures to attack us earlier? It wasn’t a secret skill? But what was the deal with the dark clouds and the bells then?”
The guild leader had been convinced that the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief had been using secret skills to attack them.
“The bells are a feint. The dark clouds should be a secret skill, but it’s nothing but a circus trick. It doesn’t possess any offensive prowess,” Chu Feng replied.
“I see. The dark clouds and the bells are distractions. He’s merely buying time to secretly approach and attack us.” The guild leader widened her eyes in realization.
“That should be the case. That old leopard was very weak. He has probably been relying on these two treasures for the longest time. It must have taken a lot of practice to fool Heavenly Gods. He might have even sacrificed some things in his cultivation for that, which would explain his weakness.”
Chu Feng had fought against the Netherworld Sect’s rank one Heavenly Gods. He thought they were already weak enough, but this old leopard was even weaker than them.
“I nearly got killed by the likes of that thing. How shameful,” the guild leader said in self-deprecation.
“He might not be strong in the traditional sense, but his combination of skills makes him a tricky enemy. I wouldn’t have been able to find him if I weren’t a world spiritist,” Chu Feng replied.
He had subdued the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief easily because his Heaven’s Eyes happened to curb the latter’s ability. Anyone else in his place would have found themselves rendered helpless.
“You’re right. That old leopard might be nothing much, but his treasures are formidable. Chu Feng, will you be able to tame his treasures?” the guild leader asked.
“It’ll take time, but it shouldn’t be a problem. Elder, are you interested in it?” Chu Feng replied.
“Forget it. It is a formidable treasure, but I have just examined it, and I don’t think it will be easy to control it. I should leave it to a prodigy like you instead,” the guild leader said.
“Elders, the natural oddity can be assimilated now. Please feel free to do so,” Chu Feng said.
The injuries sustained by the guild leader and the lunatic were no big deal, as the Cloud Leopard Clan’s Clan Chief had avoided their vitals; he was probably trying to scare them into submission. It didn’t get in the way of their cultivation.
The natural oddity couldn’t be taken away, so Chu Feng thought it would be best for them to assimilate it as soon as possible.
“Thank you, Chu Feng. I don’t know how I can repay you for this,” the guild leader said.
“Elder, I still remember the favor you have shown me. It’s only right for me to do this for you,” Chu Feng replied.
“All right. I shan’t stand on ceremony then.” The guild leader smiled. She turned to the lunatic and said, “Let’s go.”
The lunatic looked at the guild leader in confusion.
“It is Chu Feng’s request. He asked me to share half of the natural oddity with you if he can restore it. I am not one to break my promise. I’ll be leaving half for you, whether you take it or not,” the guild leader said as she made her way toward the natural oddity.
The lunatic looked at Chu Feng with moved eyes.
“Go ahead, Elder Liu,” Chu Feng said.
“Mm.” The lunatic nodded before making a move. She might not have thanked Chu Feng, but the emotions rippling in her eyes spoke louder than words.
