Chapter 6577: Misjudged
“Chu Feng, does Xianhai Yu’er know what Xiahou Jue is capable of?” the Martial Cultivator Commerce Guild’s leader asked Chu Feng.
“She knows,” Chu Feng replied.
They had encountered Xiahou Jue together in the Immemorial Cemetery.
“She’s going easy on him despite knowing he can raise his cultivation to rank five Heavenly God level. Does this mean that...”
The guild leader’s eyes lit up. Seeing Xianhai Yu’er’s confidence, an unbelievable conjecture suddenly occurred to her.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Yu’er,” Chu Feng replied with expectant eyes.
Little Fishy was in no rush to go all out despite knowing that Xiahou Jue could raise his cultivation up to rank five Heavenly God level. That could only mean that she had the power to curb rank five Heavenly Gods as well.
“Hah...” Xiahou Jue suddenly laughed.
He hadn’t been able to react to Little Fishy’s attack at all. If she had the strength to sever his arm, she could have taken his life as well. Yet, she chose not to do so.
Is she looking down on me? Or is she that confident in herself?
“Junior, you have truly opened my eyes today. Very well.” Xiahou Jue took out a teleportation talisman, only to burn it into ashes with his martial power.
The guild leader and the lunatic were baffled by his actions.
“Interesting,” Chu Feng remarked with a chuckle.
He could tell that the teleportation talisman was the real deal. It was likely Xiahou Jue’s emergency escape method should he encounter an opponent that was beyond his means to deal with. He could have escaped with that teleportation talisman, but he chose not to.
“Today, I, Xiahou Jue, will put my life on the line to see how far the top prodigy of this era can go. If I die in your hands, at least it will be an eye-opener for me. But if you die at my hands, don’t blame me for not showing you mercy. If anything... you and Chu Feng should have never stood against our Netherworld Sect,” Xiahou Jue said as he glanced at Chu Feng.
It was a life-and-death battle, but Xiahou Jue didn’t conceal his admiration for Little Fishy and Chu Feng. This changed Chu Feng’s impression of Xiahou Jue.
He doesn’t seem to fear death. If anything, he exudes the airs of a true expert.
“You sure have a lot to say,” Little Fishy snorted.
“Hah...” Xiahou Jue smiled.
A terrifying red embryo surged into the air while expanding, enveloping the sky in the blink of an eye. It was a Netherworld Embryo!
The Netherworld Embryo quickly grew from an infant into an adult. Blood-red armor appeared on its body, making it resemble a war god that had risen from hell.
“Is this the Netherworld Sect’s means?”
Both the guild leader and the lunatic looked unnerved. They had known that Xiahou Jue could raise his cultivation to rank five Heavenly God level, but they didn’t expect him to possess such powerful means on top of that.
This completely overthrew their previous impression of the Netherworld Sect.
Once the Netherworld Embryo was done forming, it returned to Xiahou Jue’s body. His eyes turned blood-red, and he began emanating a blood-red aura. The same blood-red armor that had formed around the Netherworld Embryo earlier also formed around him now.
By this point, his cultivation had already risen to rank five Heavenly God level.
But Chu Feng and the others had their eyes on Little Fishy.
She was also emanating the aura of a rank five Heavenly God. Another pair of finlike wings had appeared on her back, but they were larger and grander this time. It gave her an imposing look.
“To think that someone can raise their cultivation by four ranks in Heavenly God level!” Xiahou Jue remarked with a laugh. His frown loosened up, and he didn’t look as conflicted anymore.
The next moment, powerful teleportation energy enveloped Xiahou Jue.
Little Fishy immediately swung her God Armament sword down on Xiahou Jue, but she was still a step too late. Xiahou Jue had escaped.
“Damn it. I’ve misjudged him.”
Chu Feng had thought that Xiahou Jue had resolved himself to put his life on the line to test Little Fishy out, but it turned out that he had another teleportation talisman in his arsenal. He had merely burned one of his teleportation talismans to make Little Fishy put down her guard, so that he could make his escape.
And it worked.
Xiahou Jue’s voice echoed from the void, “Chu Feng, I’m not afraid of death. I’m curious to see if you’ll show the same flair as this lady when you advance into Heavenly God level... though I wonder if you’ll ever get the chance to do so. The Netherworld Sect will not let you off after what you have done.”
The guild leader rolled her eyes. “He’s still running his mouth even though he has already run away. I thought he was a fearless one.”
Eggy also quickly spoke up, “Chu Feng, the origin energies! Tell Little Fishy to give me those world spiritists’ origin energies.”
Little Fishy stowed away the corpses of those Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists before flitting up to Chu Feng. She apologized with a bow, “I’m sorry, big brother.”
“Yu’er, it’s fine. We’ll get him the next time,” Chu Feng consoled her, thinking that she was feeling self-reproach for letting Xiahou Jue escape.
But Little Fishy shook her head and said, “It’s not that.”
“Oh? What is it then?” Chu Feng asked.
“I know that the beautiful world spirit big sister in your body needs origin energies, but I need these people’s origin energies as well. I’m afraid I can’t hand them over to the world spirit big sister,” Little Fishy said.
