Chapter 6093, Why We Dream
Chapter 6093, Why We Dream
Author: Silavin
It took more than a day and a night of non-stop work, with Yang Ji and Yang Xu taking turns. The list had gone as far as to assign who should give insight to what child. So, they naturally took turns.
Unfortunately, with the time it took to recover had caused them to eat into day two. Teachers in the know, mostly those who had their students chosen, who could sense the Space fluctuations had not ceased, chose to stop class for the day. After all, who would want their students to suddenly get spirited away while they were in their classroom seats?
Though it did seem strange to some students, not all classes followed this trend. For example, Li Wu Yi’s class and Jiu Feng’s class, which had a truly valid reason for not opening.
Thousand Year Ice Warming Liquor. It was a rarity that had to be obtained through auction. Naturally, its rarity and demand was due to one thing, which was that it was one of the few rare liquors that could make an Open Heaven Realm Master feel drunk.
Ordinary alcohol would no longer have any effect on an Open Heaven Realm Master, if they wanted to dissipate its effect. However, the Thousand Year Ice Warming Liquor was different. In using the natural effect of Yin and Yang, bolstering its effect, this alcohol would even seep into their Small Universes and affect all beings inside. One could only wait for it to take its natural course, to relieve themselves of their stupor.
So, on this day, the three teachers were basically out of commission and could not hold class. It was only fortunate that on their side, Jiu Feng and Xu Yi had told the academy prior to getting drunk.
As for their classes, they were the final ones chosen by Yang Ji and Yang Xu.
It took no small amount of effort to impart their Daos to the remaining children. The Twins did not expect they would even get mentally exhausted over this task.
This was a kind of exhaustion that could be alleviated by Pills, but the Twins found that sleep was the best remedy for it. Besides, if the Twins had something they loved to do, it would be sleep. That was why they, even if they did not crave food, still slept when they could.
This time, they could permanently connect their rooms so they could share beds once more.
And, in their dreams…
*Boom! Boom! Boom!*
Unable to get injured here, they naturally could spar as much as they wanted. Their environment could also change to whatever they wanted.
It could be said that this was their true playground, where they could do whatever they wanted without any consequences. Naturally, this was also only possible because they were connected to each other, and could share dreams. Otherwise, what a lonely world it would be if they could only dream of themself, and them alone.
Unfortunately, such dreams also had their limitations, as the Twins would eventually wake up and falling asleep was not as easy a thing for them. It was not so much that they had an illness like insomnia, but rather due to their cultivation realm, like their diet, they did not need to sleep nor eat. So, it was inevitable that they could not sleep that easily, even if they wanted to play around in their dreams.
Right now, Yang Ji had raised his fist and punched forward with just pure strength. It caused the landscape to shift as Space cracked and lands were split in half.
Yang Xu barely avoided the blow as she dived in to launch an uppercut, capable of shattering buildings.
However, how could Yang Ji not have predicted this blow? Even if Space was torn asunder, he easily blocked it with his forehead by facing down.
The fist barely struck his nose as it landed squarely on his forehead. With a *Boom!* the two children ceased and they separated.
“Brother, that’s cheating. There is no way you would have been able to survive if you took the full brunt of it.” Yang Xu complained as the world around them returned back to normal.
However, Yang Ji countered, “No no no. My forehead would hardly hurt from that.”
“*Haaa…* Though we can play around as much as we want, I guess if it doesn’t really hurt, we would not be able to tell. I don’t really want to play anymore…” Yang Xu said as she turned around and changed the scenery.
They were now back at home, in their usual room within Starry Sky Palace. Every centimetre was recreated within the dream, the touch, the smell, even the warmth. She immediately moved to the bed and said, “As I thought, this place always feels the best.”
Yang Ji just shook his head. “Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve been to our room. But, we rarely get this opportunity. Shouldn’t we do something more fun?”
“Brother, aren’t you tried? We’ve been sharing our insights non-stop for almost two full days. The first thing you did after we slept is ask me to spar with you. We’ve been doing that for two hours already. What else do you want to do? Can’t we just lie on the bed?” Yang Xu said with a pitiful look on her face.
“But we rarely get to spar. Out in the real world, you dare not use your full strength and always refuse.” Yang Ji sighed.
“Let’s just chat, okay?” Yang Xu said and laid down, completely unwilling to do anything else. Despite being able to share information instantaneously if she so chooses, Yang Xu strangely loves to do such things.
Yang Ji relented and sat on the bed with her, then he asked, “Fine. So, what do our Mothers plan to do now?”
“They said they will handle the Parents. That we do not need to do anything else. But Brother, don’t you think we’ve caused them quite a bit of trouble for them this time?” Yang Xu said with a hint of worry.
“Our Mothers are all one of the strongest in this world. Surely this bit of trouble is nothing to them. But, I do feel bad forcing them to cover for us. Maybe I shouldn’t have done that to Lei Ao?” Yang Ji thought back on his impulsive action. He did not mean for all this to happen. He really thought he was just doing good. “What if we just sped up time for them? That way, they will awaken far earlier.”
“Brother, Mother and Father warned us about using Time Principles on others. Let’s not cause anymore trouble. I’m sure if any of them had wanted to wake them up, they would have done so earlier. There must be a reason they avoid doing that. Just like how they don’t allow Yang Hao to go into a cultivation room that has a different flow of time, even when he pleaded with them.”
“Oh…”
Seeing how her Brother’s mood had been affected, Yang Xu quickly tried to change the topic.
“By the way, I’m sure you noticed by now, but that worm has been acting really strange lately, going so far as to help us out. She thinks I had not noticed but she’s gone to a room that is not designated as one of our targets, you know?” Yang Xu highlighted. Whenever she thought of the Heavenly Demon Queen, she could not help but frown.
“I’m sure she has just visited that mysterious Wu Lun. I don’t think she intends to hide it from us. After all, we can sense her position at all times. I do get that you doubt her, but it is undeniable that she will not harm us because we are connected. In fact, she might be listening in to us for all we know. Though she did not appear in our last dream and this one, that doesn’t mean she can’t overhear us. She is also connected to us, after all.” Yang Ji said while looking around the room, as though hinting at something. However, no answer came back, as everything remained silent.
“If she can listen in on us even here, then our privacy has really been ruined by her.” Yang Xu sighed as besides the bed they were on, the room around them had changed. It turned into the cultivation room at Mo Na Ye’s place, or at least what was left of it.
Yang Xu thought back to before the Heavenly Demon Queen appeared. Then, the scene changed to display what they had seen in the past. This time, they were viewing themselves in third person.
Yang Ji commented, “It seems like it is still a little hard to recreate scenes… Luckily we have the two of us, so we can see each other. We normally just go around to different places to see different environments so that we can recreate them. I guess we should have practiced more for this.”
Yang Ji imposed his own memories to help Yang Xu, and the two watched the scene that happened a few months ago. Only, even after watching the whole scene play out, they did not get any clues.
Then, the scene changed to playback on when they last saw Little Eleven, when he created that Array with those dark symbols.
“Argh… why didn’t I study more on the Dao of Spirit Arrays?” Yang Xu moaned as she could not comprehend what Little Eleven was doing.
“Well, judging from how proficient she is at Arrays, I doubt you would be able to seal her even if you were on Father’s level.” Yang Ji shook his head. Though he understood why his Sister wished to learn how to recreate this Array, he doubted it would work. After all, the Heavenly Demon Queen broke away from it once, why not a second time. Even if for the first time, she did it from the outside, where it was weak.
“I’m more interested in this…” Yang Ji focused and then the scene changed. This time, it was no longer anything neither of them saw or heard before. After all, this was not something they had experienced before.
In fact, the world was dark. Except for their bed, they could hardly see anything.
However, they did hear two muffled and faint voices.
‘I presume, then…’
*Crack!*
However, before anything could continue, the darkness seemed to crack, like glass, spiderwebs-like fissures formed and expanded. Try as they might, the Twins were no longer able to control this destruction.
Still, in the midst of this sudden change, Yang Ji grinned.
