Chapter 2992. Risk But reward

"I am leaving." One of the three who had shown a shift in their mana stood up. He was from the batman race, the fact that he was out and about during the day was already a surprise since they preferred the night due to their natural traits.

Yet, Walker also noticed that he had no dark affinity that was normal for his race. Instead, he had less red eyes and more pink colored eyes. His affinity was also light mana based on the light mana drifting around him. Besides this, the slight tinge to the fur on his body and the membrane on his wings was also lighter gray than black.

"Found a quest?" Walker saw a hurried nod. "Good luck, I hope to hear of your success."

"When you do I will be a star fallen blacksmith. I will craft with fallen stars!" Walker actually had heard of this form of smithing. Not exactly the same, but someone who used materials from fallen meteorites or other materials form out in space.

It was something that had been written about in stories here and there across races. Little bits of history and story mixed together about materials that couldn’t be forged made in to unique weapons by blacksmiths who were always searching for said materials.

"Speak to the wandering blacksmith. He should have materials for you!" Walker shouted as the young man left. Clearly, he had a direction and a desire to advance to become this form of crafter.

But where Walker also saw a change was in the other two also starting to stand up and move about. One was already radiating a deeper form of earth and dark mana.

From what he guessed, the show of manas and movements of manas had awakened their dark affinity and pushed them to grow even more so than before.

As a single tear fell from the girl’s eyes, Walker worried if he had caused her harm in some way, but then he noticed her smile. He didn’t ask but he felt like he had done a little more than what he realized and letting her take whatever path she had found was more than enough to respect her goals.

What he didn’t know, was she was a half earth half dark elf. Both her parents had wanted her to have a piece of them as she grew but she had only awakened her father’s earth mana affinity. But now, she had managed to awaken the dark affinity from her mother proving that she had both of them with her still despite both of them passing away from illness.

That was something deeper for her but also the encouragement to persevere beyond the average and why she had managed to get in to the crafting guide in the first place.

Another aspect Walker caught on was a feeling he had seen and felt before.

The start of a change to awakening the high elf bloodline.

She was going to be a dual affinity elf with perfect balance in her affinities that stepped to become a high elf with the very same affinities but much better quality. "If you go and request an audience with Alma and Gil, they will help you. I expect you will do well in the future too." He was a little more soft spoken since he could tell she was overwhelmed right now.

She nodded and clearly had more excitement that she could go to ask for assistance from the literal queen of all elves. Whether she was excited to meet Gil could be asked later.

The final of the three he had his focus on was a demon.

The youngest in the room in particular and clearly had been through some hardships as they most likely were still a very young one when the demons became part of Genesis. Also most likely hidden and almost killed when the demon race was enslaved by their own people turned monsters.

Where Walker found it the most curious and odd was that space mana did seem to move a bit around this demon, but not toward them, away from them. Like it was being denied even though they had an affinity.

"The quest is impossible for me. I craft with them because I can’t use my arms and hands to craft heavier things. I can’t cut larger pieces of wood. I can’t hammer in to stone. So I use my nails and the hand me down tools to carve weak gems." He spoke like Walker should understand the issues.

And as Walker did look, he saw the deep scars and damage from injuries that must have come from being a baby and narrowly surviving harm. In all essence, this demon was crippled to some degree.

But he was also a child that had been hopeless and suddenly given a much bigger world in unity and hope with Genesis. His mind had been set on a belief that there was nothing but suffering only to suddenly be flipped on its head.

Yet, he still felt himself useless since he could not pursue what he wished due to his injuries.

"Who cares about lifting this or that. You don’t need a bunch of strength to craft the way you want. You shouldn’t reject the affinities you have or fight them. They are part of your strength and can help you make a method of crafting that will allow you to use your skills."

He lowered himself slightly and looked in to the demon’s eyes. "You can achieve your goals but you have to choose to pursue them. Don’t give yourself a limit unless you are using it as a temporary goal to surpass when you have taken a new step."

"Now, you have a space mana affinity. Very rare and very unique. If you accept it, you might start your path. But promise me this, you will come back and visit me when-"

"I need to be somewhere with only space to take a step and that’s not possible here!" He shouted and Walker was absolutely stunned.

The boy had given up because he wasn’t somewhere he could take the step offered to him and he couldn’t actively do anything to achieve that.

"Well then let me help you. Just take a hold of my robes and we will teleport to where we can be."

The other crafters who had been enlightened looked at Walker and the boy with some awe and jealousy. But they also had quests and ideas of their paths. But another girl looked at Walker with determined and slightly angry eyes,

"You are taking me too because I don’t want to miss anything." She wasn’t asking, she was ordering him. He wondered where that confidence came from and began to respond but she had already stepped forward through the others and taken hold of the robes too. "I won’t be left behind."

"And if you two know we are going to a dangerous place where there is space mana and it needs me to protect you or else you could perish?" Walker saw another flinch, but he also felt that the girl who hadn’t shown changes in mana was the most intriguing. Simply because she still held a slightly angry glare toward him.

He didn’t do anything to anger her, but was it just her determination speaking? Or did she feel a chance to exceed too?

"Everyone else here, pursue your path and let the Genesis building know that all of you may be chasing new or very rare classes. I know that every single one of you have new insights and I believe you will create a full shelf on the archive libraries in your journey." He left them all like this, some were excited even more, others were already promising themselves that they would do exactly that.

However, Walker teleported to a bridge to the elemental planes with the two holding on to him. Their bodies were feeling better this time than earlier, but still stressed by the use of space mana.

"We are going through there and then to the outer edges of the elemental planes where a small spatial elemental plane I have encountered was. It should be partially safe but both of you must hold on to me while I move. Not only do I want to see the dragon attached to that elemental plane growing within, but I want to catch the space mana around it for both of you to sense."

He was playing a risky game. Yes he believed they were perfectly safe with his protection. But he had to expend his mana and focus to do so no matter what. Plus, they needed to be able to handle the changes and forces as he moved them and protected them. They would most likely be entirely exhausted from this.

Proof that no one should travel the elemental planes or anywhere else without protection and natural resistances. But for these two, it was a chance and a risk they both accepted, so why would Walker question them?
