Chapter 3009. Perfect Step Forward
Chapter 3009. Perfect Step Forward
Feeling how dense the manas were getting in that one core, Walker understood that he did the same internally.
He just didn’t realize that his body naturally did this. That he naturally condensed manas to points that he never realized he did.
He had to remember that he was not human. He was of the origin race now. His affinities and usages of manas were much more advanced and unique.
He needed mana in greater amounts than anyone else. It was why his mana resistances grew just by being around stronger and denser elemental manas overall.
Therefore, it made sense that this was a natural growth effect of being part of the origin race as a whole. He just never connected the dots since he saw himself growing and thought that the understanding of manas were more effective to his manipulation instead.
This condensed mana being more condensed than normal but still not damaging the golem materials.
Meaning that the quality of the golem so far was matching, no, beyond what he imagined. The mad golem crafter wasn’t quite in the madness and form of insanity that came with obsession. However, they were far enough that they advanced their skill so far that they managed to prolong their life to continue their pursuit of the craft.
The knowledge he passed down would be invaluable to many crafters, let alone golem crafters.
The third and final golem core was what Walker felt next.
Not a willing draw of mana but a pull from him.
It was the melded mana he had struggled with. The manipulation of more than natural manas and deeper manas together.
True mana.
He’d learned to manipulate it. The mixed manas of all mana together. Not just elemental mana. But space, time, life, and death manas mixed with natural mana.
The core wasn’t crafted with that in mind. It was not intended that each core would even draw different manas.
The intent had been to create mana based cores to store much larger amounts of mana to allow more manipulation and control of the golem. So that when sharing the mana a connection and receiving information from it, all that was even possible.
There needed to be a much greater amount of mana flow to have a proper connection and understand any changes in mana.
True mana, mana that was mixed with every mana was rare and Walker had yet to properly encounter it elsewhere. However, he knew he had the skills for it.
The small amount of that perfectly balanced mana dwelled within him and was part of him.
He also sensed that he could feel a much closer resonance between himself and the mana flowing through the golems the moment that the true mana within him split up. It was like someone had just slammed the last blow of a hammer on the metal of the bond perfectly shaping the bond itself. Like the mana was perfectly moving and he could sense that the connection was greater and ready for him to push his will in to it.
"Snap to it! Connect the last gears and start to secure the outer armor!" The mad golem crafter moved his golem arms to start building up the outer sections of the golem. The wandering blacksmith followed suit as he was being directed moment by moment how to work.
It was an odd vision for anyone who could have seen it since the wandering blacksmith was always leading a project and never the assistant. But in this case he was the assistant making sure that everyone moved along properly.
The reason that Walker was pushing forward was because he sensed the right time to make his move. The two crafters just had to keep up with him and make sure that they had secured their half of the work.
A push of mana around the room became brutal and dense. It put stress on the two crafters. The wandering blacksmith resisted the best since he was a bit younger and had been through so many different unique environments while chasing new materials.
The mad golem crafter showed weakness. He had not traveled far and had isolated himself most of his life. He even made golem arms and legs to move him so that he could preserve his body and age to continue to craft. That weakness slowed him, but did not stop him.
Outer armor that could be exchanged using skills that Walker developed later using space mana was fixed on to the outer parts. Defensive and brilliant. It matched the armors that Walker already possessed while continuing to attract mana that the golem cores would be able to utilize when Walker controlled them.
He also noticed that the fabric cloaks wrapped and attached were attracting mana and even resonating with natural mana since they had been attuned to the different elemental spirit trees by having the sap of those trees within genesis infused within the thread.
He knew that such a thread had to have been sewn in by his little sister and realized the extent that the wandering blacksmith had gone to while crafting and leaving to procure the correct materials.
He trusted this blacksmith with his family and friendship and yet again was proven that this trust was well deserved. It wasn’t that they had been brothers that fought through life. They were two people that respected the actions of one another and kept one another in mind. Family, and nothing but that without constraint.
That bond made the work that the two put in to their goals even greater. The golems forged with that amount of effort and conducted by a master in their own right beside masters was the key needed to achieve results.
Feeling the movement around him, Walker replicated the senses he had when connecting to the flame dolls. But he didn’t see these golems as something different.
Within his mind and body he imagined that these golems were extensions of himself. Pieces of his mind that he could use the very same as when he was meditating, theorizing the mixing of magic, practicing sword or spear skills to train himself physically. He pushed himself to feel every movement as he would do when raising an arm. But he also split his focus only to move one golem’s arm.
Then another.
Then another.
Then he opened one mouth.
He tried to speak and a crackling electric lightning static of mana moved through the room before the wind mana gathered and replicated sound.
He’d done this before to transfer his voice further for announcements and events within Genesis. Right now, he did that multiple times on a smaller scale testing the maan flowing through the golems.
Then when he pushed his mana senses through the bonds still cooling and settling in to a perfect cycle, he found that he could look within the golems.
Every gear, spring, magically carved rune formations, cycling core, and even the feeling of the mana around them. It all became something screaming through his mind.
The shake and shiver of all the mana made the forge appear to be ready to take damage before Walker solidified his will within his own mind. Forced the different senses and feelings to organize just in the same ways as when he read multiple books and stored the information within the mental archive skill.
’The skills;
golem extension, golem puppeteering, multi mind and body, mana bond forging, extended space teleportation, space inscription...’
The number of skills that became ironed out in his mind and became part of him were too many as they kept being shown by the system of existence.
Yet, as all the slammed in to him, Walker felt a smoothness within his soul.
Something like finally releasing an anchor from his foot that had held him back.
Just like that, he saw a much larger piece of Genesis through his higher mana senses.
The golems had acted like a beacon for mana. They pushed his mana senses further and expanded every single little detail.
He felt the moment that Onyx and Midnight turned their head feeling his presence in the mana around them. He noticed the tone of voice that Su used while reprimanding the two young crafters who did not wish to study. He smirked hearing Remey teasing Ignus while they walked the streets. He even began to laugh slightly when he heard Alma ranting at Gil about focusing on the newest projects they had to support.
But most of all, Walker realized that with this step forward, he could ensure that he was not missing when someone needed him.
Yes he could train and focus on helping all these projects. But splitting his mind was a necessary next step to ensure that he was capable of being the hero the others needed and the hero he wished to be.
