Chapter 3013. Bonding Or Bad Luck
Chapter 3013. Bonding Or Bad Luck
This continued for the next couple of weeks.
Walker trained and challenged himself while he meditated with his real body. Focused on the golem’s movements and made those bodies more and more of his own.
The rest of the party found themselves finding fewer chances to challenge him too.
Midnight had changed to just ambushing him here and there to challenge his mana senses. The younger dragon hatchlings and even a few of the other children she had been watching or playing with decided it was the most fun they could have.
The parents did not find it too amusing that their children were attacking the literal hero of Genesis. Not that they told them to stop though, they were too busy bragging that their children had helped Walker train the golems he controlled.
Onyx had done the most interesting challenge that Walker looked back on.
After they had spent multiple days watching and learning about the rune formations so an elemental dome could be created within the territory that the youngest serpents lived, Onyx had made Walker bring multiple rune carvers to the territory.
From there he had made Walker assist in the carving of those rune formations. That included the testing and feeding mana to them.
While the rune formations used to create elemental domes within their territory were not the best quality and would need repairs every month to be maintained, Onyx had the elemental domes that could assist in training the young serpent’s bodies to be more elementally resistant to all manas.
The challenge part was the actual travel and being in the village.
The naturally formed runes and the dungeon there were heavily reliant on the balanced light and dark mana. The movement of the older serpents also utilized those manas too.
Meaning that Walker had to focus on keeping his movements a match for the serpents moving through shadows, moving through the air with light mana, and also generally mixing those manas. Therefore, the golem body had to use two manas to a more refined quality than just what he would do within Genesis.
All on top of the elemental mana being channeled for the rune formations.
It put him to the point that he was able to move all of those manas with one golem while also handling the others. Splitting his focus and mental load yet again. This push brought an advancement to his split mind skill and multi tasking skills.
The multi mind skill he gained did not have much different at all.
Simply put, it was a smoother and clearer example of those two skills in one. However, it mentioned that it was more specifically geared toward entirely isolated thoughts and actions in relation to his desires and conscious actions.
Basically, he was focusing on the actions of his bodies without the worries that he would make all of the golems move in a flinch or a reaction because of a surprise.
He’d managed to isolate the different bodies in thought and actions without separating them entirely. This was exactly what he needed to better move forward and train himself. It was also what helped him stop the need for constant meditation with his main body.
It was also why he had stepped out of the mansion and made his way to the cathedral, and eventually toward the demi-human territory where Alice had taken a larger group of healers who would be touring the farm lands to be able to assist the farmers in any normal injuries they gained while working hard to provide food for thousands.
The golem bodies were still out with the others. Su was still training one while the two crafters were tested at the crafting guild now. A few friends they’d made in the past and the wandering blacksmith had made certain that the two were being tested in their knowledge over just their goals to rush toward crafting.
Everyone but those two who were getting along better and better understood they needed education in theory and knowledge before just crafting space and mana itself. But what could they do? They were children still and had pushed ahead because they had already crafted before and wished to do so even more on a grander scale.
Regardless, Walker also didn’t forget that the golem currently with Gil was still appraising new crops and the greenhouses the herbalist elves made.
The advancements due to returning certain plants and herbs back to safety in their population was amazing. It had led to several newly cross bred or hybrid food and herbs that the appraisals showcased perfectly. It also was still shocking that Gil wasn’t back to his focus on archery or other skills related to the high elf bloodline.
Not that it was a bad thing. He had taken a step back from those training and experimenting topics because he needed to. Gil himself had realized he was too trapped in them. He’d narrowed his mind and focus which could cause him to miss out on opportunities or growth he could encourage.
He was also accepting his own growth as a whole. He’d glanced too far toward a future he might have for his class and self. So, now he was slowing himself so he could develop naturally and not forced. But that didn’t mean he was stagnant.
Walker noticed that Gil had gathered mana around him without trying to. A hint that the high elf bloodline was more refined day by day within Gil.
This brought him to the theory that once Gil had encountered chaotic mana damaging his body something inside him changed ahead of time. That the high elf bloodline given to him through his hard work and sincerity would change again.
Not just pushing Gil to be closer to a purer high elf, but maybe more in the future. It was the mystery of this that Walker filed away in his mind as important to keep notes on.
"Walker!" The call came from Alice who was shaking her head at him. She’d asked him to help move a case of heavy healing supplies so that she could set up an impromptu healing area.
They’d stopped the travel group of seventy five healers, twenty five apprentice healers of different classes, a group of thirty light warriors looking for advancement opportunities, and a group of thirty more nuns and priests that looked to increase their growth as guides for those in need.
While many would think that this group were the same sort of people that had always worked in the cathedral, they would assume wrong.
This group now consisted of different affinity healers and healers of various races. One of the healers who went through the training program was a harpy, she had light affinity as many healers did. However, she had sped through the new education plans and teaching because of her quick wits and strong talents. She wished to help her own people and also those who might push back against monster races. She wished to teach the world through healing that the monster races were the very same as the other races.
"I have the bandage rolls and ointments. I’ll head over to the local guard patrol station and let them know to pass the word around. I saw in a report recently that there are more patrols to deal with a few toads trying to make nests in the watery fields for rice, cranberries, and duck weed."
Alice gave Walker an affirming nod. She had just been about to ask him to fly ahead and do that. She’d been very glad to hear him say he wanted to spend the time helping her and the other healers.
This trip was a big deal for the Demi-human kingdom since more than just their farmers who were working hard would get good medical care.
It was a chance for any potential healers to gain more training from Genesis and push themselves to take a chance. To potentially venture back to Genesis while some healers would be able to remain here and teach.
It was an active exchange showing that the alliance was focusing on all people, even those further away from the main Genesis territory.
Beyond this, Walker was treating it like a chance to bind with Alice. He’d promised her more and the golem bodies also offered the time for his personal life to flourish.
Yet, as his luck determined, he didn’t appear to arrive at the right time. As he neared the larger guard post where the guards would sleep and relax he found himself in a meeting.
One carrying the worry of several farmers and the overall safety of themselves and their families. It drew Walker’s full attention since a few of the farmers were shouting about lost crops and a few missing farmers and tamed monsters used as cattle.
Not to mention that fact that the guards had also lost a few seasoned guards from their group.
This was no small issue.
