Chapter 3028. Toughen Up

’Crystalline dark ore- compressed

This is already an incredibly valuable ore since it has become crystal like in structure due to dense and pure dark mana condensing to form it within previously earth materials.

The earthen remnants have become nothing but the form taken over the last hundred years.

The crystal structure allows for this dark ore to be incredibly powerful when used to create something that channels dark mana. It also allows for there to be a higher degree of mana to be channeled through it overall. Along with this, it makes it much tougher since the crystal structure allows for it to disperse force at a much higher rate making it very ideal for blunt weapons or for armor.

This ore has been compressed by a brute state elemental causing it to be even more efficient when it comes to the flow of dark mana. This also increases the density overall which creates a massive boost to the physical and magical defensive properties.

To craft with this material, only the best of the best crafters even have a chance crafting the dark affinity crafting methods often developed over many years...’

"This could be useful for forging some very nice armor, maybe some weapons later too. But I have no idea if we have a blacksmith who could handle the materials themselves." Walker wasn’t sure what other materials might be needed to forge with this either. Let alone if it was simply used to carve out a stone piece of jewelry that might enhance dark mana flow or something else. Potentially even a gem for a magic staff.

"We can hold on to it for now. I have a feeling that we will see a lot more going ahead." Su looked at the area, seeing that there was barely anything here but an expanse of what anyone would naturally see as a flat land of darkness, she wanted to move much further ahead.

She didn’t have any intention of moving toward the central areas of any elemental plane. That was where the most powerful singular elemental beings lived and that was not where she wished to be.

She could grow stronger just by being in the elemental planes.

She preferred looking toward going forward toward the outer areas. Places that had the unknown to many and had potential to bring much more forward in life for herself and for Genesis.

It also would make the trip more worthwhile, because even if she did not find what she was looking for within herself, for a path forward for her class, she might be able to find things that would help the people of Genesis much more.

This also presented the challenge of Walker’s golem being able to handle the outer elemental planes already. He could test the differences in mana and see if he could handle the chaotic manas that came with being there.

"You can teleport-" Su was cut off as Walker moved them a much greater distance than she expected. She was even out of breath feeling the higher amount of mana that had taken them further.

She looked at him waiting for a proper answer as to how they had just moved so far and how he had used a lot more mana than he had the last time he moved them. Especially when he had been able to move the elder dark dragons as well.

"I have a bit more mana at my disposal now. These golem bodies have multiple cores and one is almost entirely dedicated to special manas and my connection to them. It’s helped me understand exactly what I have when it comes to understanding and connection to space and the others."

The somewhat sheepish response let Su see that Walker was also a bit surprised to find his strength in this respect increased even more.

Not to mention her realization that as he learned more about having the golem bodies he would grow in ways he also did not fully expect. Whether that was in his understanding of manas or otherwise, it would appear as time went on.

"My mana senses are also very expanded even around one golem body. Su, that means I can feel the edge of other small elemental planes from where we are. The mana out there is also in a more chaotic state. Protection is up to us."

This was not Walker’s true body. He had a feeling that right this second he was not experiencing the passive protection from another origin race member or powerful being watching over him as he grew.

While odd to expect that, he’d understood that had been the case multiple times when he and the group went to the elemental planes and specifically the more dangerous outer elemental planes in the past. Therefore he’d wondered if that would be the case yet again.

Seeing that there was more chaotic mana around himself and Su already proved that without his main body he might not get such treatment.

If that was the case then these stronger origin race members that gave him a fraction of their attention to protect him were not offering it to his party but just him. Not his golem bodies either.

The golem bodies could be rebuilt and replaced. They were expendable in all forms and fashions.

Or

He had taken a step forward that allowed for him to not be given the same care.

If this was the case, then it could be a sign he was in need of a more violent and dangerous atmosphere. A place that would put his abilities and strengths to the test. Push his limits to break so that he could grow to become more and more.

"So I will train my resistances and see if I can face more monsters." She said this like it was a simple thing, but as Walker caught the changes in mana and the shapes of movement ahead, he focused on them and began to read the appraisals.

’Chaos tadpole

While not actually an embodiment of chaos, this is a tadpole monster that can grow in to a chaos stomach frog, a monster known to purposefully trap opposing manas within its body to use in attacks.

They are attracted to manas different from clashing manas, often orderly. They can feed off those manas as they cause them to destabilize which makes them the bane of most young elemental planes forming.

They are inherently weak in their tadpole phase but become harder to handle as they grow larger. They too use clashing manas to spit waves or balls of chaotic mana at other creatures.

They are surprisingly valuable since their skin can be tanned easily and resist whatever manas they recently consumed. They are also a delicacy with soft meat that can be purified of all manas allowing for a general food source...’

Looking at one another the two decided to split the monsters. Walker didn’t use any mana really. He buffed himself and Su but took out an earth affinity sword that could withstand some beatings physically and from mana.

Here he knew was an ideal chance to see if his training in physical skills could enhance his understanding of those even better.

The lightning sword style shouldn’t be the only sword style he properly practiced. He had also learned the guarded sword style that every human guard learned in the human kingdom if they wielded a sword. So why not bring himself to the pinnacle of that then continue to improve?

Su was faster though, her shield charge took her right in to the more chaotic mana already spat at them in a wave. It barely made an effect on her with her resistances and strengths. But more so, it showed her abilities were naturally pushing away the chaotic mana.

More so, her body naturally pushed the unbalanced mana away making her an anchor within itself.

Yes, that attracted more of the tadpoles to her, but opened Walker’s eyes a bit.

He had a few theories about the direction that Su was growing as a guardian and as a half dragon. But even more so, he wondered if she would be able to achieve what he could not theorize and see.

Right now, he wondered if she would become a pillar representing stability and protection greater than just for Genesis and the world. The way her mama acted and her movements flowed, she appeared to be stabilizing more than just her own self. It was the small direct area around her being affected with the will she pushed in to her defenses and shields.

Walker struck out deflecting mana and slashing. He easily handled the tadpoles near him while also using the basics of the guarded sword style he’d learned. He also felt his mind adapting to the style and golem body even more smoothly than before bringing him quite a bit of excitement.
