Chapter 3060. Gap Filling
Chapter 3060: 3060. Gap Filling
"It’s sort of like watching a drunk partier walk home and get lost." The giggle was from Remey who had managed to arrive and watch the training that Walker and Gil were doing just in time for the design of Walker using several earth soldier puppets.
She had also been making comments about Gil moving like a snail since he was moving slower and slower through the archery stances and even staggering when he realized that there were errors.
Even funnier, she was watching the two do it at the same time while Walker’s main body had arrived to take the place of the golem body since he felt he needed to be here himself to train the skills he was struggling with.
Not that it was a bad choice to make since he felt a clearer sense of what was happening in terms of the puppet body as a whole when he felt the ways that the mana threads he controlled moved through and in to their earthen bodies he constructed.
He also found interesting ways of making them able to connect to the weapon and the armors he gave them, the shield itself being one specific focus.
That allowed Walker the ability to better understand how the puppet body would use them, but also gave him the better idea of using wind mana and the mana threads skill to control shields for weapons.
He had made the eternal codex take the form of smaller shields before. It was good for him but it was not the best usage of the eternal codex since taking the form of a magic staff often better enhanced the magical skills or the buffing skills he used. Or making it take the form of armor would allow him to strengthen his senses and add a more dependable layer of defense that focused on natural resistance buffs.
Therefore, he would prefer to use the mana threads with some shields he kept in his multi dimensional storage instead. And it also opened up another way he could use combat that he knew the puppeteer class and other similar classes used.
But using it the way he wanted was also the challenge.
Yet, the more puppet bodies he made and armored the more he sharpened his senses and understood the instinctual ways that the manas he would flow through his golem bodies worked and how advanced the unified skills were.
He knew that the sharing of specific senses that allowed him to feel exactly the manas and temperature all around those golem bodies were powerful. But doing so with a puppet body? He couldn’t even begin to do that which led him to wonder if he was actually missing too much about the skills he was using right now.
"Wild card!" Remey has also taken to sending a burst of alchemy flames randomly in to the training area and laughing with a bit too much excitement.
What she didn’t expect this time though, was that Walker had changed the shape of one earth puppet and sent a dull earth arrow at her. The thing was, Gila also did the same but his was water.
The combination turned in to a small splat of mud that landed right on her cheek quickly wiping away the laughter and smile from her face and bringing a grumbly face that they both knew meant a punch to the shoulder if they came too close.
"You sort of had it coming, and that is just a fact... But, the flames sort of helped keep me focused. But the switch to fire style from water was a little more dramatic than I liked. The aim was off by a few inches!"
The fact that Gil shifted in to be appalled by missing the ideal target by a few inches made both Walker and Remey look at him with worry. Then again, he was so accurate and skilled in archery now that being wrong by inches was actually a major issue for him. Not to mention that there was even more issue when it came to the fact that he was even missing his target at all when he aimed for a specific spot.
Then again, Walker was also bringing in some challenges for the targets since he knew very well that there should be more to his movements now than before. He has expanded his skills and testing to the weapons and the puppet bodies he was creating so he could put himself under the mental strain of being able to feel it better. Being able to see the overall differences when his focus wasn’t perfectly on one thing or another.
"I think I am realizing just how much we miss the middle parts of some skills. Remey, you learned alchemy flames and then started to focus on more flames when you became a whole different race. But compared to how fighting is second nature to you, you are still a novice in some ways. Especially when you control the flames that made up a form that looks like a dragon. How do you do that? Is it intentional, or instinct?"
Walker broke the through process of both Gil and Remey leaving Remey wondering herself.
"I fought all the time growing up so it was always learning without noticing I guess. Alchemy I watched growing up so when I started to do it, it all fit together. But you might be right, I sort of just do the mixing the two together with the racial skills I have now." She didn’t seem happy that he brought this to her mind.
Yet, she also appeared curious and even started to hum a bit while she thought. She even started to make the flames she had hurled at them before turn in to wings on her back leading to more partial formations of a dragon body she could make with flames as she had done so before.
"It’s very different than using my fists wrapped in fire too." She had thought about the elemental knuckles she had and even those were a guide for her to use and not a direct control that she had. It frustrated her to think it was her own strength but she really didn’t have the same level of control that she could and should have over it.
Filling these gaps in their full understanding of skills and their own natural abilities could mean a lot.
Not just to their strength in using those skills or magics. It would allow them to broaden their full comprehension of where those skills and magics could develop while they became stronger.
Walker was already an example of this when it came to enhancing his mana manipulation skills. He’d grown them to the point that he could manipulate core manas that affected the formation of the world and even begin to merge or utilize them in extremely high level forms.
It was just that those things were also massive broad terms.
Gil was also doing the same thing already, but he was demonstrating it in the development of archery skills. Also in the teaching of these understandings to develop everything better.
"You know, I didn’t come here to train and watch you two fool around." The huff that Remey began to make made it clear that she had made the decision to train herself a bit later, but wanted to ignore it for a moment since it would certainly become a challenge.
"You wanted to see if you could start to use the more condensed and unique herbs I have stored away?" She shook her head causing Walker’s eyebrows to furrow. He was sure this was why she came.
"The dungeon that Ignus made change by accident absorbed five potions I made and I want to know what you think will happen to them. Because he didn’t have my permission for that and I want them back."
The two realized she was not at all happy with Ignus and had come to Walker where she knew he was because he could ease her frustration.
"I know that they will regenerate at a certain rate as something to find and collect within the dungeon once it solidifies. But getting them back and having the same long term quality might be harder to judge. I would guess it’s going to be a constructed mana based creation instead of synthesized through normal alchemy. So it will most likely be weaker."
The guess left Remey annoyed but she nodded since she understood more potions were helpful regardless of the tier and strength of them.
"Why not make it a quest given by the alchemy guild? Have some people go train there and search out the dungeon made potions so you can have alchemists record information." Gil clearly hit the right answer dead center. Remey was already looking happier to have a task for some adventurers while they trained.
"Good, then you can help me train too." Now Gil heard the downside of having a better answer. He’d have to fight Remey as she tested skills too.
