Chapter 4947: Recognize
Chapter 4947: Recognize
The sudden sound made Song Mi’er’s heart sink. Instinctively shielding Yue’er behind her, she looked warily toward the source of the voice—only to see not a person, but an elusive shadowy spirit figure.
“Run!” Song Mi’er shoved her away, rushing toward the main gate.
“Can you really escape?” The spirit entity sneered coldly. With a wave of its hand, Yue’er, who had been running toward the gate, seemed to hit some kind of barrier and bounced back, tumbling to the ground.
Seeing this, Song Mi’er’s unease and worry deepened. They were trapped! There was no escape!
“Who are you? What do you want?” Song Mi’er shouted, brandishing the kitchen knife in her hand at the spectral figure.
The spirit glanced at the frying pan in her grasp, a dark gleam flashing in its eyes. “A member of the Culinary God Song family?”
“That’s right! It’s best you don’t touch us. Otherwise… otherwise, the Culinary God Song family won’t let you off!”
Clearly sensing the terrifying power of this spectral figure before her, Song Mi’er could only attempt to intimidate him by invoking the Song family’s name. Yet she knew this entity—whether human or ghost—exuded an aura so dreadful, and having instantly recognized her as a Song, it likely wouldn’t be easily deterred.
“Hmph, the Song family? A mere family.” He sneered coldly, glancing at Song Mi’er before waving her away with a dismissive gesture.
“Thud!”
“Ah!”
With almost no chance to resist, she was caught by a powerful force, flung against the stone wall. Song Mi’er let out a piercing scream, crashing into the wall before tumbling to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
“Pfft!”
“Sister Mi’er!” Yue’er cried out, sprinting toward her.
“A child with an innate spirit-gathering body? Truly rare! This scent… so sweet.” The soul entity blocked Yue’er’s path, inhaling her pure, potent Spirit Energy with rapturous delight.
“Get away!” Yue’er snapped, drawing her whip and lashing out at it.
Whoosh!
The crimson whip shot forward like a fiery bolt, striking the soul entity before her. The entity, eyes narrowed in rapture, likely believing the child’s attack couldn’t harm it, paid it no mind.
But when a piercing, menacing aura surged toward him with terrifying force, he jolted awake. Opening his eyes, he saw only a flash of crimson streaking toward him.
The speed was too swift to discern clearly, yet his instincts screamed danger, driving him to dodge. Unfortunately, while he evaded the whip’s frontal strike, he couldn’t escape its sharp crack as it lashed across his midsection.
“Whoosh!”
A searing pain, like flames scorching his very soul, shot through him. The agony made him gasp sharply as his soul-body swiftly retreated. Only then did he glance at the whip in the child’s hand.
“The Ancient Divine Whip!”
His brow furrowed deeply. His face, barely visible in the night, darkened, and a chill aura spread from his soul form.
“You are the Azure Emperor’s disciple!” Not a question, but a statement of certainty. Who else but the Azure Emperor’s disciple would dare wield this whip?
Recalling the Azure Emperor’s words, realizing this child with an innate spirit-gathering body before him was actually the Azure Emperor’s disciple, his brow twitched. A flash of reluctance crossed his eyes.
A child with an innate spirit-gathering body was such nourishment. If he could refine her into a medicinal pill, his divine soul would grow ever stronger. Perhaps in the not-too-distant future, he could ascend to become an Emperor!
But then he thought of that bastard Azure Emperor’s methods…
