"You’re welcome," Zhuo Junyue replied, maintaining his usual taciturn demeanor. However, prompted by Fan Lin’s words, he shifted his back slightly toward Fan Lin, preparing to hand Bai Qingcheng over.

"He’s been carrying her this whole way—what’s a little longer? Might as well let him carry her straight to the courtyard," Sage Hun Yuan remarked, glancing at Zhuo Junyue and then at the unconscious Bai Qingcheng slumped across his back. A slightly lecherous smile touched his lips.

Zhuo Junyue shot him a glance but remained silent.

Fan Lin, however, paused slightly with his outstretched hand upon hearing this and smiled. "Then we’ll trouble Brother Zhuo."

"I’ll go inform the Master," Du Fan said cheerfully, turning to Sage Hun Yuan. "Would you like to come along, Senior? Hell’s Lord has just awakened, and quite a crowd has gathered at the main courtyard."

"Great! I’ll go see them." Hun Yuan said, immediately following Du Fan out.

Fan Lin of Qikang led Zhuo Junyue to the guest quarters. Once there, Fan Lin helped Bai Qingcheng lie flat on the bed. He examined the wounds on her body, though he refrained from checking certain areas due to her gender.

"She has several knife wounds, but those shouldn’t be too severe. The internal injuries are likely more serious," Zhuo Junyue stated. His voice paused briefly before he added, "However, I noticed she had swallowed a medicinal pill earlier."

"Hmm, it’s fortunate she took that pill. Otherwise, her injuries would have been too severe for her to survive this long," Fan Lin remarked, examining the crimson bloodline on her palm with puzzlement. How had she been poisoned?

Not long after, Feng Jiu arrived. Upon entering the room, she saw Zhuo Junyue, whom she hadn’t seen in a while. Spotting her, she smiled and greeted him, "Long time no see."

"Long time no see," Zhuo Junyue replied, his gaze resting on her. He added, "I heard you were back, so the old man asked me to come see you too."

Feng Jiu smiled and stepped forward. "I just saw Sage Hun Yuan. He hasn’t changed a bit." She glanced at him and added with a laugh, "Neither have you."

Unaccustomed to words, he didn’t know what to say to her and remained silent, simply standing to the side.

At that moment, Fan Lin spoke up. "Master, please take a look at this curse in Qingcheng."

"Qi Kang and Du Fan, you two help attend to him," Feng Jiu instructed the two men beside her.

The two men smiled, then looked at Zhuo Junyue and said, "Let us accompany you to meet the others! Everyone is gathered at the main courtyard."

"Alright," Zhuo Junyue agreed. He nodded briefly to Feng Jiu before following them out.

After they departed, Qin Xin entered carrying a basin of water, while Fan Lin also withdrew.

Setting the water by the bedside, Qin Xin removed Feng Jiu’s clothes at her gesture. Seeing Bai Qingcheng lying there with numerous injuries, concern filled Qin Xin’s eyes as she reproached herself, "How could she have been injured so badly when she went out perfectly fine? It’s our fault too—we should have accompanied her."

"Perhaps an accident occurred along the way. No one bears blame for this. Thankfully, her life is not in danger." Feng Jiu spoke as she had Qin Xin tend to the bandaged wounds on her body while examining the poison vial she had been struck with.

Observing the crimson trail of blood extending from her palm up her arm toward her heart, Feng Jiu’s slender fingers twitched slightly. She gently placed them on Bai Qingcheng’s pulse, locating the Gu lurking within her body.

After a moment, her eyebrows lifted slightly. As she withdrew her hand, she gently turned Bai Qingcheng’s face to the side, revealing the faintly pulsing Gu beneath the skin behind her ear.
