Chapter 1215: That's Enough
Chapter 1215: That’s Enough
But unfortunately for Anthony… the time for play was over.
The Asura appeared directly in front of Anthony. Despite Anthony’s newfound speed, to the four-armed, war-bred man, Anthony was still nothing more than a snail.
The Asura simply pushed one of his palms outward as though it was the easiest thing in the world, his palm booming towards Anthony’s chest. Anthony’s Infinity rose immediately as it moved to stop the attack with its newfound durability and strength. But to Anthony’s shock, the Infinity was instantly shattered once more as though it were nothing more than a piece of paper. Numerous translucent fragments burst apart before dissolving into nothingness, failing to delay the attack by even the slightest fraction of a second.
The Asura tearing through the Infinity wasn’t exactly what surprised Anthony. No, he had thought these people needed the Original Essence to bypass his Infinity. Yet, his theory had been proven wrong at this moment as the Asura accomplished it with nothing but his bare hand.
Truly, he was a man bred for pure war, combat, and conquest.
Anthony felt the massive hand crash against his shoulder. It felt as though he had rammed straight into a truck at full speed and force. The impact and momentum immediately hurled Anthony backwards with greater intensity than anything he had ever experienced, both before and after his ascension, his body carving deep trenches through the earth as towering geysers of sand erupted upwards like colossal walls, the ground cracking and buckling everywhere his body passed.
Anthony immediately felt pain, not an ache, but real pain. Blood splattered from his body as his left arm had been torn off from his shoulder.
Anthony’s regeneration ability instantly kicked in, but before even a single cell or strand of flesh could move, everything immediately stopped as though some restrictive force was suppressing the ability.
Anthony immediately rose to his feet as he blurred backwards, but the Rakshasa was already waiting there, a fist rocketing towards his back with even greater force and speed than before. Anthony moved with his remaining right hand, his katana blurring upwards as he met the fist with the razor-sharp edge of his blade.
It was as though two blades had collided, and needless to say, Anthony’s body was sent flying backwards once more, his wrist cracking under the sheer force of the impact. A violent shockwave exploded from the collision, flattening the surrounding hills and sending loose boulders tumbling down the nearby hills. Despite his body being enhanced by his newfound control over the Origin Essence, it seemed to make no difference against these people.
Anthony’s back slammed into a mountain, his katana dropping to the ground with a loud clatter as his fractured hand could no longer hold it. He vomited another litre of blood simply from taking the punch from earlier.
‘What is that strange thing restricting my regeneration?’ Anthony thought to himself as he panted, his eyes bloodshot. He was certain the Asura was the one who had used whatever it was to block his regeneration, and he was equally certain it wasn’t the Original Essence.
With his newfound strength, Anthony tried to use the Authority of Information to gather information, but… nothing. He was still too weak.
“What is your name, Human?” the Asura asked as he walked forward, his two lower arms vanishing until only two remained, making him resemble any ordinary human.
Anthony, while panting and enduring the pain shooting throughout his body, spoke without bothering to lie, “Null Anthony.”
“Sign the contract, Null Anthony. The Asura Clan will treat you well despite you being a slave. The only thing we care about is your strength, and from what I’ve seen, you will be treated so well that you would question the very purpose of the contract. Besides, if the decision were left to me, I wouldn’t want to use this contract to recruit you,” the Asura said.
Anthony could sense the sincerity behind the Asura’s words. In the past, the Asura simply forcefully enslaved Ascendants and left it at that. After all, whatever foundation the Ascendants possessed in their Lower Galaxy was almost useless here.
But… did Anthony care about the sincerity? Definitely not.
“Hey, don’t try to poach him for yourself,” the Garuda spoke as she came flying down.
Anthony shook his head, his breathing gradually steadying as he spoke, “I still have a bit of fight left in me.”
With that, Anthony teleported. Yes… he had manipulated space. He was now able to control the Origin Essence to influence his affinities. The moment he appeared a few dozen metres away, Anthony vanished again as he teleported once more. His body flickered in and out of existence as though he were a virus infecting reality itself, never remaining in one place long enough for an ordinary opponent to react.
The moment Anthony reappeared and was about to teleport again, the Rakshasa appeared beside him, caught him by the elbow, and flung him into the distance like a ragdoll as though he had finally had enough of Anthony’s endless persistence.
As the Rakshasa was about to close the distance once more and attack, a booming voice descended upon the entire mountain expanse like an unquestionable decree.
“That’s enough.”
The instant those words rang out, the Asura, Rakshasa, Yaksha, and Garuda froze in place, their eyes widening as they hadn’t sensed even the slightest presence before the voice spoke. Even though they had merely been toying with Anthony, they had remained constantly aware of their surroundings in case someone attempted to launch a surprise attack. After all, it wouldn’t have been the first time something of that nature had happened.
Their heads snapped towards the source of the voice, their guards rising to their absolute peak. But the moment their eyes fell upon the Existence who had spoken, their eyes widened in pure horror as whatever guard they had instinctively raised seemed to crumble on its own without their knowledge.
After all, what could they possibly do against the Existence that loomed before them?
