Chapter 1268: The Grand Regions

Chapter 1268: The Grand Regions

As Anthony read through the pages of the book, he couldn’t help but admit that things seemed far more dangerous than he had ever imagined. Now he understood why big shots like The Devouring Emperor and The Absent Ones could die despite attaining the strength of Eternal Apex.

Anthony’s mind couldn’t help but flicker back to the books he had read at the Heavenly Library. They had stated that only the Human race organized themselves into Sects, which was true according to the book he was currently reading, while the other races organized themselves into Clans, which was also partially true.

However, the book he was reading now confirmed that members of the various races could be found in both organizations, as the book from the Heavenly Library hadn’t gone into too much depth since it was simply a basic introductory text intended for those who weren’t exactly cultivators.

But upon reading this current book, Anthony gained a much clearer and broader understanding.

The book back at the Heavenly Library had also stated that there were eighteen major races, while the book he was reading now claimed there were over twenty. Of course, it didn’t necessarily mean the Heavenly Library’s book was wrong; it was simply less comprehensive.

Then again, it could also mean that the eighteen major races were merely the ones openly known throughout the Realm, while the remaining races remained hidden, much like Ancient Clans that had secluded themselves from the rest of the world for generations.

’What could possibly exist beyond these Grand Regions?’ Anthony thought to himself as he flipped another page and continued reading.

He was deeply tempted to venture out and see those places for himself. He couldn’t help but wonder if The Lover Of Death had fallen during one of his expeditions into the unknown beyond the Grand Regions. But that begged the question of how his body and treasures had been transported into his underground burial tomb.

As soon as the question formed within his mind, an answer naturally followed.

Most likely, those unimaginably powerful cultivators prepared their tombs long before they ventured into the unknown. They recognized the undeniable possibility that they might perish while searching for the unexplored. After all, no one capable of climbing to such an unfathomable level of existence was both arrogant and foolish enough to ignore the possibility of death.

Because of that, some of them likely prepared numerous fail-safes that would allow them to reincarnate into another person’s body, perhaps by creating false inheritance realms designed to lure suitable successors. Others might have genuinely created inheritance realms without any hidden motives, leaving behind their legacies solely to ensure that their knowledge and achievements would continue to exist long after their deaths.

Of course, those fail-safes would probably only function depending on the manner of their deaths. If they died from something like an outrageous ancient poison, then perhaps such preparations could still activate successfully. But if they perished within some mysterious ancient River of Death or under the effects of an incomprehensible Law capable of erasing both body and soul, then their carefully crafted fail-safes would almost certainly become completely useless.

’Should I send hundreds of clones to explore?’ Anthony thought to himself.

He could simply create one thousand clones and send them in every direction while he observed everything from the comfort of his cottage. Through his connection to them, he could gather an immense amount of information without placing his true body in danger. It was undoubtedly the safest method available to him. But at the end of the day, Anthony was only curious about those unexplored places. Unlike most cultivators, he didn’t desperately need some miraculous treasure or ancient inheritance hidden within those dangerous lands.

He shook his head and decided not to give in to his curiosity.

He would explore those places personally one day. Perhaps he would even bring his friends along and treat the journey like a vacation, albeit an extraordinarily dangerous one.

A faint smile appeared on his face at the thought. Somehow, the idea seemed strangely amusing.

He lightly shook his head once more before returning his attention to the book.

The book also highlighted the fact that a few races disliked mixing with other races because of the issue of Bloodline Grades. It wasn’t necessarily because they looked down upon those with lower-grade bloodlines. Rather, it was because certain races possessed innate abilities that allowed them to manipulate members of their own race who possessed weaker Bloodline Grades, such as the Humans.

Among the Human race, depending on how talented an individual was, their Bloodline could bestow upon them the ability to manipulate other Humans who possessed weaker Bloodlines. Naturally, this also depended upon the difference in mental strength and overall cultivation. In some situations, direct manipulation wasn’t even necessary. Through bloodline resonance alone, the individual with the weaker Bloodline could gradually develop unwavering loyalty over time without even realizing it.

’It seems the system granted me permanent and absolute control when it comes to this ability where I’m concerned. I don’t have to worry about differences in cultivation or mental strength,’ Anthony mused to himself.

As he continued reading about Bloodlines, Anthony’s thoughts naturally drifted toward the Ten Above disciples. Seven of them possessed Supreme Grade Bloodlines, while the remaining three possessed Perfect Grade Bloodlines, with Tory naturally being one of those who possessed a Perfect Grade Bloodline.

Anthony flipped another page and continued reading as though he were casually reading an ordinary novel.

The names of the Ten Grand Regions were Kharum, Nazhar, Urmek, Sathor, Belqar, Ormesh, Tazhuk, Rhemar, Kardum, and Velruk.

’I’m currently in the Sathor Grand Region,’ Anthony thought to himself as he calmly sipped his tea. ’And it seems nothing particularly unique distinguishes the people of one Grand Region from those of another,’ he silently confirmed after reading further.

The people simply identified themselves by the Grand Region they originated from. Beyond that, there was very little cultural distinction significant enough to separate them. Organizations, personal strength, family background, and individual achievements ultimately carried far greater importance than one’s Grand Region of origin.

Anthony continued reading for several more minutes before finally snapping the book shut. The moment he closed it, the book disintegrated into countless motes of light before quietly vanishing into the surrounding air, as though it had never existed in the first place.

Anthony closed his eyes for a brief moment. Reading through the book had genuinely helped him understand several things about the Hellinder Realm. Although he could continue digging deeper into the Realm’s ancient history, forgotten civilizations, and countless mysteries, Anthony simply wasn’t particularly interested in history for history’s sake.

If he ever encountered a situation that required him to investigate those ancient records or uncover long-forgotten secrets, then he would naturally devote the necessary effort to studying them. As things currently stood, however, he wasn’t particularly curious about such matters beyond satisfying a little of his own curiosity.

’After The Sleeping Hollow event, I should explore the Sathor Grand Region,’ Anthony decided silently to himself, forming a simple plan within his mind.

With that thought, Anthony took out his phone and called his parents while patiently waiting for the Elder from the Challenge Hall to come and get him.
