Chapter 1336: Take A Guess

The Lich, still seated on his high bone throne, stared at Anthony as he killed the last genius with an expression filled with amusement as he spoke,

"Do you need me to help you remove the Marks?"

At the question, Anthony’s attention turned from the six Marks on his body as his eyes fixed on the Lich, who just stared back at him. Obviously, he didn’t need the Lich to remove the Marks; he could do it himself. He wouldn’t trust this bored Lich even with a random pebble that had no meaning.

The Lich stared back at Anthony. Although he wore a smile on his bony face, deep down he was surprised, not because Anthony had won. He had expected Anthony to come out victorious, but through using various Laws like he had done against the Death Renderer, he hadn’t expected Anthony to handle them so easily without breaking a single sweat.

But still, it didn’t matter. It had been fun; that was the entire purpose.

Anthony decided to play along with the Lich as he wanted to see where this was going.

"Didn’t you promise to remove the Mark on whoever wins?" He asked as though he wanted the Lich to remove it.

The Lich stayed silent for a moment, then replied, "I never promised anything. I said I might, never said anything definitive." He paused for a moment, then added, "Besides, that was before you all attacked me, by the way, so after being attacked, I’m free to change my mind," he replied with a smile on his face.

Anthony stayed silent for a moment, then asked, "What do you want?" His expression flat as he wanted to know what this Lich was getting at.

The Lich smirked as he replied, "Become my subordinate," his tone calm.

"No, thank you," Anthony replied without the slightest bit of interest.

The Lich shook his head as he spoke, "No need to overthink it. You don’t need to stay here with me or do anything. You just need to be my eyes outside." His tone was calm and straightforward. "Through your eyes, I can see the outside world and more. Although I have subordinates through whom I can see the outside world, it’s better to see things from multiple views." He paused for a moment, then added, "Besides, you don’t even need to carry out any orders from me, nor will I give any. I just want to see the world that I haven’t seen for a couple of years," he stated in finality.

Anthony stayed silent. He wouldn’t deny it; he could understand where the Lich was coming from, but he would never do that. Even if the Lich only wanted to see the world beyond, that had nothing to do with him.

"If that is all you have to say, then I will get going," he stated, ready to turn and leave.

The Lich stared at him as he spoke, "Aren’t you afraid of those ancient sects outside?"

"Take a guess," Anthony replied flatly.

The Lich stayed silent at Anthony’s words, the smile on his face vanishing as he sighed and changed his approach.

"If you don’t agree, I have the power to keep you here even if the Sleeping Hollow closes." His tone was threatening. "After all, as you already know, there is no departing gate within this area unless I create it," he added.

Anthony didn’t bother exchanging words with the Lich. He simply walked away without turning to look at the skeleton. He had thought there was a cool scheme or something that would happen, leading to them having to fight, but it turned out the man just wanted to see the outside world.

The Lich simply watched, not doing anything, as Anthony wasn’t the first to reject his offer, but in the end, they had all accepted. What he didn’t tell Anthony was that his Law Of Space wouldn’t work if that was how he planned to leave here.

And when he said he could keep Anthony here even when the Sleeping Hollow closed, he wasn’t joking.

Although the Lich didn’t say it, he couldn’t understand why Anthony had burned away the space rings of these geniuses. Clearly, they contained materials they had gathered from other domains.

The only answer he could come up with was that the Human looked down on everything else that wasn’t on the same level as the Genesis Grade Trident and the Eternal Apex corpse.

Besides, he was also pained that he lost the corpses of six geniuses, but oh well, he had enough indeed subordinates already. The loss of six geniuses changed nothing for him.

Anthony spent a couple of minutes walking around the graveyard. He wasn’t searching for an exit; he was simply looking around. Seeing there was nothing here but tomb upon tomb, Anthony decided to leave.

He raised a hand and Thought Conception came alive. The moment it activated, he created an Abyssal Maw to the next domain.

The Lich rose to his feet in shock as he wondered how the Human had just bypassed his authority. He didn’t sense any Law resonating in the air, nor did he sense any Origin Essence in use or even any ability for that matter.

The moment the Abyssal Maw opened, Anthony activated Authority Of Severance and instantly severed the Marks from his body. The moment the Marks vanished, his eyes turned towards the Lich. He simply nodded at the skeleton and jumped into the Abyssal Maw.

"Wai—" The Lich was about to stop him when Anthony vanished into the Abyssal Maw and it closed.

"How did he even create a gateway?" the Lich murmured to himself as he immediately connected himself to every overseer across all domains to know where Anthony had gone.

But to his surprise, he found nothing.

’Don’t tell me he had gone to that place,’ he thought to himself as his eyes narrowed.

Anthony plummeted through the darkness when he suddenly felt an invasive power trying to hijack his Abyssal Maw. His senses snapped towards it, but he made no move to stop what was happening. The next moment, he vanished from his position before he even arrived at the next random domain.
