Chapter 1380: Reputation And Prestige
Chapter 1380: Reputation And Prestige
Although the choice of guilt-tripping Anthony by saying he was the cause of this, as if he hadn’t killed that many Eternal Apexes, no one would be after them, was practically a bad idea.
Guilt-tripping someone who was that strong was insane. Besides, he was just protecting a Core Elder and the Above disciples, that was all.
The best-case scenario was Anthony leaving behind one of his Shadow Soldiers, preferably the Dark Renderer. That way, they could feel safe enough to sleep and wake up.
"Well... we can only hope."
Null Nathaniel spoke after a moment of thought.
He sighed as he spoke once more, asking a question this time.
"Six Above disciples had fallen within the Sleeping Hollow. How do we handle this?"
The Slumbering Storm asked in a calm tone. Although her golden threads that were wrapped around the Above disciples had worked, it seemed that the enemies of these six Above disciples didn’t give them the luxury of escaping.
Null Nathaniel tapped his index finger on the armrest of his seat in thought for a moment. After a while, he spoke in a calm tone.
"We will tell the Disciples how they died, then we will compensate the families appropriately."
His tone hardened a bit, as losing six geniuses was an immense blow to any Organization, let alone geniuses on the level of the Above disciples. But they couldn’t blame anyone in particular, not even whoever killed them.
At Nathaniel’s words, the Core Elders nodded their heads in agreement. Normally, the Sect didn’t need to provide any explanation to the disciples or even tell the families of dead disciples that their child or children were dead. That was not the duty of a Sect, after all, these people had all walked to the Null Sect with their own two legs.
But this was different, as they had died in an Inheritance Realm that they had been sent to. So, in a way, the Null Sect was responsible.
"Also, we should make preparations." Null Nathaniel continued calmly.
The Core Elders arched an eyebrow as they wondered what the Sect Master was talking about.
"Our prestige and reputation have scaled to an unprecedented level. The only reason why we don’t have a bunch of people applying to become disciples or Elders and whatnot is simply because they are all waiting to see if these Ancient Organizations and Territories can wipe us out. If within a month or two we are still standing strong, people will begin to arrive."
Nathaniel stated calmly as he stared at his Core Elders, his brain already anticipating what would happen in the future.
The Core Elders nodded their heads as their eyes flashed with understanding, after all, this was what usually happened after any Organization gained immense or even a bit of positive reputation and prestige.
But it didn’t just end there. With their own level of prestige and reputation, since these Ancient Organizations wouldn’t be able to wipe them out due to Anthony, they would send spies to apply as disciples, even send some to apply as Elders as well.
And these disciples and Elders wouldn’t be low-key or trash in order to avoid attracting attention. They would do the opposite and be extremely high-key. After all, which Organization would be able to ignore a shining genius?
Besides, how can spies find out good and worthwhile information if they were at the lowest bottom of the entire Null Sect?
But if they were at the top, they could find out everything, even become a personal disciple to a Core Elder and find out every single thing that they could.
Although they had The Decipherer Of The Heavens and Deceiver Of Laws to weed out these people, it wasn’t enough. After all, just as information could be investigated through Laws, it could also be falsified through Laws and artefacts, blurring the line between lies and truth.
So, they needed to be thoroughly prepared. If not, they would be accepting their own doom into the Sect.
And when that time came, they would employ Anthony’s help to weed out these people, or better still, accept them, keep an eye on them, then kill them off in a couple of months after feeding them basic information to give their Organizations.
"I wonder if the Eternal Apex, The Silent Drop, from the River Of Night Territory would come."
Chaos Betroth wondered aloud in thought.
Personally, she wished the woman came. Although Anthony hadn’t done anything to the River Of Night Territory, and they also hadn’t targeted the Null Sect, Chaos Betroth still wanted to poach her if possible.
Although the River Of Night Organization would be unhappy, why should she care? They already had over a hundred enemies, what was one more to the list?
Besides, the River Of Night had over a dozen Eternal Apexes, as they were an organization that was Ancient and had been in existence for a couple million years. They could afford to part with just one Eternal Apex, no?
"Best not to add more enemies to the list."
Nathaniel replied to Chaos Betroth, not sharing the same view as this woman who just wanted more chaos.
The Decipherer Of The Heavens turned his head towards Chaos Betroth as he asked.
"How many percent did your Universal Law Of Chaos increase by this time around?"
Chaos Betroth turned towards him and replied without hiding anything.
"A total of seven percent. It should increase more after a couple of months in seclusion, but how much more, I can only guess, as I’m not sure."
Her tone was steady and calm.
The Decipherer Of The Heavens nodded his head and said nothing more, asking as he had only been curious.
"Is there anything else to discuss?"
Nathaniel asked as he had returned to his demeanor and composure as a Sect Master.
The five Core Elders shook their heads simultaneously after a moment of thought.
"Then let’s allow the disciples to enter the hall. They’ve been through a lot, and we shouldn’t keep them waiting."
Nathaniel stated calmly, his words earning a nod from the Core Elders, who turned their attention towards the door.
The Sect Master snapped his fingers, and with a creaking sound, the door opened inwards.
