Chapter 1387: Robbed Blind

Chapter 1387: Robbed Blind

As everyone stared at the treasures Anthony had taken out in utter shock, they remained silent, their eyes darting from one corner of the Sect Master Hall to another.

"How rich was the Lover of Death to possess so much treasure?"

Jerry couldn’t help but blurt out the question that was on everyone’s mind. Although he asked, no one answered, as everyone was just as clueless as he was. How were they supposed to know?

"Some of these definitely have to be from the Unknown Regions, right?"

Chu Feng asked, as it was the only explanation that made sense to him at the moment.

"Definitely, but who knows how many people that the Lover of Death has killed and robbed, given how many years he has lived. And also, with his comprehension over the Law of Death, I wouldn’t be surprised if he survived longer than anyone else in the Unknown Regions before eventually dying like the others."

Lora Vake replied as her eyes danced from one treasure to another. Greed and temptation couldn’t help but rise within her mind and body. But feeling greedy and tempted was one thing; acting upon those feelings was another. And she didn’t dare act upon them.

Anthony remained silent for a moment before speaking in a calm tone.

"The Lover of Death didn’t die in the Unknown Regions. He was practically the first person to go there and survive until the end."

His tone was cool and flat as he wore an indifferent expression while looking at the treasures gathered below.

At his words, everyone was instantly rendered speechless. They had all assumed that the Lover of Death had died in the Unknown Regions like everyone else, but they could never have guessed that the man had actually survived.

Although the Lover of Death had sacrificed himself at the Altar of Death in the Unknown Regions, the man had survived until the very end, only killing himself and making that sacrifice when he wanted to.

Tory Hale remained silent for a moment before speaking after falling into deep thought.

"I think it kind of makes sense. According to the records I read back at the Heavenly Library, the Lover of Death was a man who remained undefeated until the very end, never fleeing any battlefield, battle, or enemy, only fighting until either he or his opponent died or the other side escaped."

He stated this as he touched his chin thoughtfully, his eyes never leaving the treasures below.

"And also, he comprehended the Law of Death and various Laws connected to it. Even if he had died, I’m sure he would have found a way to cheat death, even if only temporarily."

Jerry added as he remained floating in the air. He sighed, then shook his head.

The Core Elders and the Sect Master didn’t speak. Instead, they glanced at Anthony, attempting to confirm their suspicions, as they had deduced that he knew more than he was letting on.

Anthony simply smiled and shook his head, sending the message that he would tell them about it later, rather than in front of the other Above Disciples.

As for keeping what had happened to the Lover of Death a secret, there was no need. Even if everyone sought out the Altar of Death, they would find nothing. Even if they found it, sacrificing oneself didn’t mean that Lady Death would welcome them into her blossom with a smile, as she had done with the Lover of Death.

The Punisher, who had been silent for a while, spoke in a calm tone.

"How long will it take even the two of you to finish going through all these treasures and everything else?"

He asked as he turned ever so slowly in the air, his eyes shifting towards the Decipherer of the Heavens and the Deceiver of Laws.

The two of them remained silent for a moment before responding with tired sighs, as they knew a tremendous amount of work lay ahead of them.

"A couple of hours. It shouldn’t take too long."

The Deceiver of Laws stated. Although such a huge amount of treasure would normally have taken days to classify, examine their functions, determine their effects, and the like, they didn’t need that long. With their abilities and speed of movement, it should take only a couple of hours, as he had said earlier.

The Decipherer of the Heavens simply nodded in agreement, indicating that they should be done within the same timeframe.

Null Nathaniel’s eyes shifted towards Anthony as he spoke in a calm tone.

"It seems we would have to delay you for a couple of hours, Anthony."

His tone was calm and almost apologetic as he stared into Anthony’s eyes, their blue eyes meeting.

Anthony simply shook his head as he replied.

"No need. I already know the functions of everything gathered here, so I don’t need to wait that long."

At Anthony’s words, the eyes of the Decipherer of the Heavens and the Deceiver of Laws lit up with happiness. Although they were Progenitors who could continue working for months without feeling the slightest bit of fatigue, it didn’t mean they loved working.

So, Anthony being aware of the functions and properties of everything within this place meant they could skip the boring and tedious work.

Anthony turned his eyes towards them, as he could see their thoughts written across their faces. Although he would have loved to make fun of these two by refusing to help them, alas, he had to give them the respect they deserved in front of the Above Disciples.

So, he simply nodded in their direction, and they nodded back at him with light smiles on their faces.

"First of all, we don’t have enough space to store this amount of treasure. We will have to create one before anything else."

The Sect Master stated this, as even the Null Sect Vault couldn’t possibly hold all these items.

The Core Elders nodded without a change in expression. Although it might seem like an easy problem to solve, it wasn’t. With the addition of these new treasures and the attention of various Ancient Behemoths and Organizations now focused on them, they had to increase their security and reinforce everything by employing various Runes, Formations, Artefacts, Laws, and the like.

Otherwise, they would be robbed blind before they even knew what had happened.
