Yuko looked at the bottle, her eyes wide with surprise. "You didn’t run away but came back to send me this," she said, her voice a mix of confusion and gratitude. I could see the conflict in her eyes, the struggle between her anger and the realization that I was trying to help.

I heard her thoughts, a whisper of a realization. [Maybe this bastard still has some consciousness.]

She took the water bottle from me, her fingers brushing against mine. The touch was brief, but it sent a jolt through me, a stark reminder of the connection between us.

Yuko’s entire body tensed, her fists clenching so tightly her knuckles turned white. "My sister is not naive!" she snapped, her voice shaking with barely contained rage. "She’s smart. She’s kind. She’s—" Her breath hitched, her voice cracking. "She’s not some idiot you can just—just use!"

I didn’t flinch. "Do you really want to know what happened between us?"

Yuko’s eyes burned into mine, her voice a low, dangerous growl. "Tell me."

I exhaled slowly, choosing my words. "Do you know... I really like Haruna. She’s sweet. Energetic. Cute. The kind of girl who makes you forget everything else when she’s around."

Yuko’s expression twisted. "Then why are you with Hannah?!" she screamed, her voice breaking. "If you like Haruna, then why are you playing with both of them?! You’re disgusting!" Her hands shot out, shoving me hard against the wall.

I didn’t resist. I let her hit me—once, twice—her fists pounding into my back, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Each strike was fueled by years of protectiveness, by the fear of losing the one person she loved most.

The words hit her like a physical blow. Her anger faltered, just for a second. "W-why are you saying this now?" she stammered, her voice trembling.

"Because it means you care," I said quietly. "More than anyone else ever could."

Yuko’s lips pressed into a thin line, her pride warring with the vulnerability beneath. "Hmph. Of course I care. She’s my little sister. If I don’t protect her, who will?"

I let the silence linger, my gaze distant, as if I were lost in memory. Then, slowly, I spoke. "The day I spent with Haruna... it was perfect. She was so happy. So alive. And I realized—I like her. More than I thought I did. So I told her how I felt."

Yuko’s breath hitched. "And?"

I hesitated. "She rejected me."

Yuko’s entire body went rigid. Her thoughts spiraled into panic, dark and frantic.

[No. No, no, no—did he—did he force her? Like Kenzo did to me? Oh God, if he touched her—if he hurt her—]

Her voice was a whisper, but it shook with terror. "D-did you... Did you do something to her after she said no?"

I didn’t answer fast enough.

Yuko lost it.

With a scream, she lunged at me, her fingers locking around my throat with bruising force. She slammed me against the ground, straddling me, her knees pinning my arms down. Her grip was iron, her face twisted in a mask of pure, unhinged fury.

"YOU MONSTER!" she shrieked, her voice breaking. "DID YOU RAPE MY SISTER?! DID YOU?!" Her hands tightened, her nails digging into my skin. Tears streamed down her face, mixing with the venom in her words. "I’ll kill you. I’ll rip you apart. If you touched her—if you hurt her"

The weight of her body pressed down on me, her knees pinning my arms to the ground. Her eyes were wild, bloodshot, the tears streaking down her face, mixing with the fury twisting her expression.

I didn’t resist. I didn’t even try to break free. My voice remained calm, steady, even as her grip tightened, making it harder to breathe. "I didn’t touch her."
