Chapter 706: Chapter 346 Prince Chu’s Exhortation_2
After a while, seeing that they hadn’t arrived yet, Zhao Yao lifted the curtain of the carriage to look outside, seeing only darkness, he asked, "Mr. Fan, where are we going, and how much longer until we arrive?"
"Your Highness, please wait a little longer, we’ll be there soon."
Zhao Yao thought that since Prince Chu temporarily couldn’t "meet people," their meeting place would certainly need to be secluded.
Not knowing how many more turns they took, an hour later, they finally arrived.
Zhao Yao jumped off the carriage and found that this area was a civilian district, where ordinary people lived. Although Jinling City wasn’t like the capital, where social classes were distinctly divided into four districts, Jinling City had naturally formed areas of wealth and poverty.
Officials would never set foot in the civilian districts because they considered it unlucky. Likewise, the civilians dared not enter the districts of the wealthy.
Mr. Fan stood by the carriage respectfully speaking to Zhao Yao, "Your Highness, I won’t disturb your reunion with Prince Chu. I’ll take my leave and return to pick you up later."
"Alright, then head back first."
Wei Mian heard noise outside from the courtyard and hurriedly came out to see the visitor was Zhao Yao. Overjoyed, he quickly bowed to Zhao Yao, "This servant greets the tenth prince..."
Before he could finish, Zhao Yao supported him.
Zhao Yao grabbed Wei Mian’s hands and looked him over from head to toe.
Wei Mian, feeling puzzled by Zhao Yao’s gaze, quickly asked, "Your Highness, why are you looking at this servant like that?"
"Checking if you’re injured." Zhao Yao raised his hand and patted Wei Mian’s shoulder, smiling, "You’ve lost some weight, but your complexion is good."
Seeing the concern in Zhao Yao’s eyes, Wei Mian felt a warmth in his heart, followed by a slight sting in his nose.
"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness. I’m well, and so is the Prince. Please go in quickly, the Prince has been waiting for you."
"I’ve missed you, fourth brother," Zhao Yao said and rushed inside. If he hadn’t been mindful of being outside, Zhao Yao would have run and shouted at the same time.
As soon as Zhao Yao walked into the courtyard, he saw Prince Chu. His face instantly lit up with a joyful smile as he quickly ran toward Prince Chu.
When Prince Chu saw Zhao Yao, even his usually expressionless face broke into a smile. He opened his arms, ready to catch the approaching Zhao Yao.
Zhao Yao leaped directly onto Prince Chu, wrapping his arms and legs around him tightly, shouting happily:
"Fourth brother! Fourth brother! Fourth brother..."
Prince Chu hadn’t expected Zhao Yao to jump on him. Fortunately, he was strong; otherwise, Zhao Yao’s leap could have knocked him over.
He held Zhao Yao with one arm and gently patted Zhao Yao’s back with the other.
"Fourth brother, I’ve really missed you."
"Fourth brother missed you too." Prince Chu carried Zhao Yao into the house, and Zhao Yao was reluctant to let go and come down.
Considerate, Wei Mian did not follow them inside and stayed at the door.
Zhao Yao clung onto Prince Chu for a while before getting down, then he carefully examined Prince Chu from head to toe.
Prince Chu allowed Zhao Yao to scrutinize him.
Zhao Yao’s brows suddenly furrowed, and his expression turned somewhat serious.
"Fourth brother, you’ve lost weight, you look haggard, and a lot older."
Prince Chu pinched Zhao Yao’s cheek, chuckling lightly, "Your complexion looks good though; you’ve put on quite a bit of weight. Your face is rounder; it looks like you’ve been eating well recently."
"Heh heh heh, fourth brother, Jinling City has a lot of delicious food, of course, I couldn’t help but eat a bit more." Zhao Yao patted his chubby cheeks and said with a big smile, "The flesh on my face is all from me eating diligently."
Prince Chu was amused by Zhao Yao’s last remark, "You really are something."
"Fourth brother, you haven’t been eating well, have you? Look, you’ve lost a bunch of weight," Zhao Yao still felt uneasy, and asked with concern, "Fourth brother, you haven’t gotten hurt, have you?"
"No, I haven’t."
"Really not?" Zhao Yao, somewhat incredulous, walked over to Prince Chu’s side and directly lifted his clothing to inspect for any scars.
Prince Chu was startled by Zhao Yao’s action: "Tenth brother, what are you doing?"
"Fourth brother, don’t move. Let me check." Zhao Yao meticulously examined him and felt relieved finding no new scars on Prince Chu. "You didn’t lie to me, fourth brother."
Prince Chu did have many scars on his body, most of which were from previous battles in Shu.
"Why would I lie to you?" Prince Chu tapped Zhao Yao’s forehead, looking helpless, "You immediately started undressing me as soon as we met, you’ve really got some nerve now."
"I’m just worried you’d lie to me; you once hid from me the fact you were severely injured during the battles in Shu," Zhao Yao still remembered how Prince Chu had kept his serious injuries a secret from him before.
