Ether Gathering Techniques.
These techniques were accepted by many as the first building block that allowed a Sage to wield the powerful strength that they currently do.

Naturally, the reference these techniques had for comparison was none other than the Basic Ether Gathering Technique, which was also the only Ether Gathering Technique that the Grand Sage had placed in Class F.
Because of this, some joked that the F in Class F stood for failure, while others said that the F in Class F stood for first.
In the end, after hearing much hubbub about his decision, the Grand Sage had clarified what the F in Class F meant.

Moving on from Class F, the Ether Gathering Techniques then proceeded through Class E, Class D, Class C, Class B, Class A, and ended at Class S.
Unlike the Class where the Basic Ether Gathering Technique was categorized, these six other Classes were given five more classifications by the Grand Sage in order to further specify how effective these techniques were.
These classifications were low-grade, middle-grade, high-grade, peak-grade, and pseudo.
Of course, adding subcategories to what many considered to be a new system of classification had confused many people, including those that had already reached the Upper Boundary.
Fortunately, the Grand Sage had convened a grand meeting for this specific reason on a fateful day, enlightening everyone on how these subcategories worked.

On the other hand, around half were techniques that spanned between Class C and Class B, giving those that made the remaining 30% enough inspiration to push their Ether Gathering Techniques even further.
And so, after an entire millennium since the Grand Sage proposed the new classification system for Ether Gathering Techniques, the first Peak-grade Class S Ether Gathering Technique was born.
