But of course, Veradine was already prepared for this kind of situation. If not, then she wouldn’t have sent her colleagues out on a three month vacation.

Fortunately, most of the people that had decided to contact them were polite with their messages, reminding themselves that they were talking to the people that had published the article they wanted to get their hands on.

However, there were still a couple that threw their own weight, telling Veradine and the others through their messages that it was a heaven-sent opportunity for them to offer an article that the former had set their eyes upon.

Naturally, those kinds of people were ignored by them.

In fact, Veradine had even gone out of her way to inform the governing body on the matter, causing those that dared to act rude towards them to be barred from obtaining any of their articles.

As for those that were polite with them, Veradine did not mind sending them a copy of the article, even going so far as to only send the part that prompted them to contact her and the others in the first place.

But as minutes turned into hours, and hours turned into days, everyone eventually realized that there was no end to the number of people contacting them for the article.

With that in mind, they were faced with two choices.

Either they continued to respond to their messages, or ignore all of them and enjoy their long vacation to the end.

Of course, both choices had its pros and cons.

If they were to choose the former, their reputation as Scholars would greatly improve as a result, but it would also cost them to miss out on their well-deserved rest.

On the other hand, if they were to choose the latter, then they would be able to return to work in peak condition. However, their reputation would take a sharp hit.

Seeing that she had already spent almost an entire week trying to placate the masses, Veradine eventually chose... neither.

Instead, she contacted the governing body about it, asking them if it was possible to remove the limit on the number of copies that were being distributed every day.

As long as the limit was removed, or as long as the limit to the number of copies were greatly increased, Veradine was certain that their lab would achieve the best of both worlds, increasing the lab’s reputation while also getting their well-deserved rest.

Thankfully, after seeing the reaction the whole planet had towards their article, the governing body agreed to remove the daily cap on their article.

At the same time, the governing body also informed Veradine that any articles their lab published in the future would be handled in the same way, to which the latter responded by thanking them for their hard work.

’I guess they assume that we’ll be doing something similar in our next article.’

Relaying the information the governing body told her to their chat group, a faint smile appeared on her face.

’Well... they wouldn’t be wrong.’

After messaging the people she hadn’t responded to yet with the governing body’s official reply, Veradine finally returned her attention towards finding the missing element of her Ether Gathering Technique.

Within the first week of her return to working on her own technique, she found that a great number of steps on the technique were redundant, prompting her to discard all of it as she integrated the three principles in a smoother fashion.

Though it was still quite a ways from reaching the level of a Low-grade Class S technique, it was a step in the right direction.

Spending another two weeks on it, she was able to make the transition between the three principles far smoother than before, increasing its efficacy by another 10%.

Although she felt like she could refine the technique even further, allowing it to enter the level of a true Low-grade Class S technique, only two weeks remained before the three month vacation was over.

Getting the feeling that she wouldn’t make much progress over the next two weeks if she were to continue refining, Veradine decided to approach the entire thing with a perspective vastly different compared to her previous ones.

With two weeks remaining, she decided to go over the original version of the Basic Ether Gathering Technique, hoping to obtain some inspiration from it that would allow her to finally find that missing element.

Of course, with how she had optimized the technique to the level of a Peak-grade Class B technique, it went without saying that she pretty much knew the ins and outs of the Basic Ether Gathering Technique.

But it was precisely because she knew how the Basic Ether Gathering Technique operated that she decided to take a look at the original technique for a change.

Perhaps she would find out that there were some parts to it that served a vastly different purpose than she initially thought.

Wondering why she hadn’t seen these parts before, she then went over the versions of the Basic Ether Gathering Technique she had greatly optimized, only to realize that those same parts were the ones that she had omitted from the technique.

Finding the entire thing somewhat ironic, Veradine faintly shook her head in self-mockery as she went over the refined Triple Compression Ether Gathering Technique and the original Basic Ether Gathering Technique at the same time.

Cross-referencing between their respective sets of instructions, she began to find parts that lined up between the two, allowing the ideal technique she had in mind to take another step to reality.

Continuing to find parallels between the techniques as the days passed, the silver-haired woman refined the Triple Compression Ether Gathering Technique even further, eventually merging the three principles that originally formed the technique into one.

’All things have a beginning and an end.’

Circulating the ether in her body according to the latest version of the Triple Compression Ether Gathering Technique, Veradine briefly stopped it as realization finally dawned on her.
